My RB3 Setlist...tear it a new one

This was actually quite fun to make. I would be terrible at trying to tier them so they are in loose alphabetical order. I tried to get lots of different genres, while still putting some of my favorite stuff, Seems a little skewed toward the 90s but thats just because its there era of music I am most familiar with.

Also, no bonus tracks, I know nothing about Harmonix bands

There's only one problem: Paradise City. Everyone would get really bored, minbus the vocalist, for ages. Use something like You Could Be Mine, Think About You, Reckless Life, Anything Goes, Garden of Eden or even... Welcome to the Jungle.
Oh, and Whitesnake is one word.

Oh, and Whitesnake is one word.
As much as I like the song, it probably is better suited for DLC.

Since I don't listen to GNR, or most of the metal bands on the list, I had to pick the song I was either most familiar with or one that seemed to be pretty popular. Paradise City, Sweet Child of Mine, and Welcome to the Jungle are the only ones I know, and I though the other two were already in other music games.

They are, but not full band-wise. And, either way, GN'R aren't a Metal band. They're a Hard Rock band. They have songs that aren't even remotely heavy, too:
    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=liZ4UiPM1jU
    Great example, right there.

Wasn't trying to argue about GNR. Just explaining why I picked the song I did.

That doesn't change the fact I listed. Allow me to reitterate:
Everyone would get really bored, minus the vocalist, for ages.

I think it's pretty funny an entire list being discussed over one song :)

But if we're talking GNR, I don't really listen to them either. They are one of the few bands where I only really like the "hits". I'd go with Welcome to the Jungle... seems like a good full band song. Sweet Child O' Mine would be a good guitar song, and Paradise City would be a great vocal song and good guitar song.

As for the rest of the list, I really like it. You really seemed to balance out the hits with the songs that most people would recognize.

One little nitpicky part I have is with Metallica. I absolutely love "Eye of the Beholder"... it would be amazingly fun on drums. Though I don't know if it's a great candidate for on-disc. I would personally go for Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Creeping Death, or possibly Fight Fire with Fire (I'm biased because I really like that song).

The drummer and bassist would, but I can see the guitar being very fun throughout.

Other than the solo, PC's kind of bleh in the guitar department. I may be overly critical, though, because I can't get past how stupid the lyrics are.

I'd say a trademark of GNR is stupid lyrics.

It wouldn't be as hard or challenging as Welcome to the Jungle, but it moves around the fretboard quite a bit.

I am shocked and amazed anyone but me would want those tracks. I personally think Only Shallow would be a better MBV track, and Pick Me Up for Dinosaur Jr (if only for Mascis' epic solo), but well done nonetheless. Those choices almost make up for the lack of Radiohead.

Very nice list, easily the best I've seen in this forum.

Really? It doesn't seem that bad to me. The main riff seems to me to be kind of like the main riffs in Smokin' or Screaming for Vengeance. It throws in a few HO-POs to keep your hands moving. Definitely more fun than what MOST songs offer outside the solo(s). And what do you mean "the solo?" I count two or three, depending on whether the part from 3:06 to 3:45 counts as a solo or a bridge. The solo from 0:41 to 1:20 isn't really that tough, but it changes up the song a little and provides variety. And the ending solo, of course, is pretty awesome.

I won't argue that the lyrics aren't stupid, but sometimes stupid lyrics can be fun. Just look at It Hurts.

I don't think that Paradise City is as good as Nightrain or Civil War or Rocket Queen, etc. but it's not as bad as you seem to think it is.

dont listen to any of these sh*t heads, this is prolly one of the best setlist ever, its impossible to please everyone, everyone has their own personal references, there were song i would rather have on here by son of ur bands, but for the most part this is a solid set list

The only songs that really stand out for me is "White Rabbit" and "I Am the Law", there really isn't many other songs on here that make me go "Wow, I really would love that song on here". Although, you definately have the band list down, there's not a single band I wouldn't mind having in here

Consider a new one torn then!

But I must say, I really enjoy your addition of Lost Art of Keeping a Secret, it's been in my DLC request page for a while now since the beta went up. Good find! Also, Yeah Yeah Yeahs are always a good pick, though I would have picked something different from the newest album (Kiss Kiss? Though usually these songs have to be singles for disc consideration, so maybe just Gold Lion)

I'm always excited about these, I think I might try one of these soon!

I concur, though I had to cringe and just go "ugh..." when I saw The Stone Roses pick. Good song but c'mon might as well go for I Am The Resurrection if you're asking for them (still a +1 though for all the other picks, especially the MBV one).

Nice. A lot of great songs, some obvious, some not. Too much to comment on everything I like. I particularly like the Built to Spill, T. Rex, Replacements, My Bloody Valentine, and Jefferson Airplane. Needs more older music too, and could stand to have a wider selection of styles. Still, good job.

It was so difficult deciding on a YYY song. I actually thought Down Boy was a single off the EP since I saw them perform it on Letterman.
I would have liked to pick something off of Show Your Bones, like Way Out or Turn Into, but those would more likely show up as DLC.

I like enough of that list that it makes me want to check out the stuff I'm not familiar with. Kudos on Plowed by Sponge and Bastards of Young by The Replacements.

I'd recommend some Clash for 70's/80's if you need some suggestions.

Ok, list is finally done. I wont be making any more additions because I could seriously keep going until I have way too many songs. And really, I should have waited to post until I was totally done.
