1965 - The Rolling Stones begin a 16 date tour of Australia, New Zealand and Far East. There will be 36 shows over the 16 days. Also on the tour are Roy Orbison and Dionne Warwick.

1966 - The Beatles have a Top 5 hit with Daytripper. It's #5 in the US

1967 - The Rolling Stones make their first and last appearance on ITVs Sunday Night At The London Palladium performing Lets Spend The Night Together, Ruby Tuesday, Its All Over Now and Connection. Showbiz tradition in the UK dictates artists wave to the audience on a revolving stage during the programs fadeout. The Stones refuse and incur the wrath of the shows producers, the press and public.

1967 - The Monkees Im A Believer tops the charts in the UK for 4 weeks and sells 750,000 copies!

1967 - Roy Orbison starts a tour of Australia and the Far East in Sydney with The Walker Brothers and The Yardbirds.

1971 - Mad Dogs and Englishmen, the feature film capturing the record breaking 1970 tour by Joe Cocker, has its premiere in London.

1974 - The latest album from Alice Cooper , Muscle of Love, is #10 in the US and #34 in the UK

1981 - A picture of John Lennon naked next to a fully clothed Yoko Ono appears in an obituary issue of Rolling Stone.

1983 - Having announced 3 month's earlier that the group was breaking up after a farewell tour, The Jam found themselves in the record breaking postion of having 9 re-issued singles enter the UK charts simultaneously.

1986 - Motley Crue’s first European headlining tour gets underway, with Cheap Trick as special guests on nine U.K. dates. The bands jam together on stage to the AC/DC classic Highway to Hell

1990 - Bob Dylan opens a 6 day rock festival in Brazil on a bill with Bon Jovi, Terence Trent Darby, The Eurythmics, Marillion anf Tears For Fears.

1990 - A very drunk Slash and Duff McKagan utter obscenities on live TV during the 17th Annual American Music Awards during their acceptance speech. Guns n Roses won awards for Favorite Heavy Metal Artist and Favorite Heavy Metal Album for Appetite For Destruction Alice Cooper who is also performing on the show pulls the two aside backstage and expresses concern for their health.

2002 - Alice Cooper is in the UK and appears on Richard and Judy and tapes the Johnny Vaughan show and I Love The Muppets
