I can't really decide. I binge different things at different times. If we went by what my last.fm carts would tell you, then High on Fire, Melvins, Repulsion and Atheist, but that itself isn't accurate, since Mercyful Fate is among my favorites, but then I don't really know who to swap out from my top 4 for them. Even then, it all changes based on what I'm currently bingeing.

It's hard to stay loyal to one set of standards when there's so much great music out in the world, haha.

i remember when i first got into judas iscariot i thought it was the same band who released one of the most interesting hardcore punk EP's i'd ever heard (on mountain collective records, if my memory serves).

i still prefer the hardcore band, but both have put out great stuff.

Couldn't name a top four. Dream Theater and Judas Priest probably rank at the top for me, but after that it depends on my mood, which could include:

Motorhead, Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Death Angel, Opeth, Symphony X, Evergrey, Threshold, Kamelot, In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy, Nightwish, Dio, Candlemass, Trouble, Mastodon...

In short there's too much good metal out there to have clear favorites. :)

    Easy for me,
It's Metallica, Immortal, Stevie Ray, and Pantera. They have a special part in my heart.....

The rest can wallow in intellectual area of all things sweet.
