1956 - Buddy Holly's first formal recording session took place at the Nashville studios of Decca Records (MCA)

1967 - Mick Jagger's review on a show by newcomer Jimi Hendrix was "The most sexual thing I've seen in a long time."

1970 - John Lennon and Phil Spector wrote and recorded Instant Karma

1971 - Alice Cooper plays a show in Toronto with Free and Cactus.

1975 - BBC's Omnibus airs Craked Actor, a documentary on David Bowie.

1977 - Just weeks before Fleetwood Mac release a new album former member and co-founder Peter Green attacks his accountant, who is trying to deliver a $30,000 royalty cheque, with an air rifle. Green insists he wants no royalty and is later comitted to a mental hospital. He was working as a gravedigger and hospital porter.


1978 - Ronnie Wood signs a solo deal with CBS Records at MIDEM in France.

1980 - Prince made his TV debut on Dick Clark's American Bandstand.

1983 - Motley Crue’s Too Fast For Love album is released in Australia, as the Live Wire video airs for the first time on U.S. TV. The first time the band sees the Live Wire video on TV is on the new cable channel HBO.

1984 - Michael Jackson suffered second degree burns to his head and neck after his hair caught fire while filming a Pepsi Cola TV commercial. An accidental flare ignited hair spray that had just been applied to the singers hair.

1985 - Deep Purple are on the US chart at #61 with Knockin' At Your Back Door

1991 - Iron Maiden begin a 33 date US tour, No Prayer On The Road, in New Haven. The tour will end March 14 in San Francisco

1991 - David Lee Roth's newest album A Little Ain't Enough is #4 in the UK

1998 - The debut album from Union, formed by ex-Motley Crue singer John Corabi and ex-KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick, makes its world premiere on HardRadio. Fans worldwide are able to listen to all the tracks on demand over the Internet.

2004 - Alice Cooper's radio show 'Nights with Alice Cooper" begins it`s run airing monday to friday for five hours a day.
