King Tony's Rock Band 3 Setlist (Redux)

kingtonyxkingtonyx Unofficial
edited April 2009 in Your Ultimate Setlist
Those familiar with my previous Rock Band 3 list will see quite a few songs returning, but it is what it is. I consider the starting point here to be May 9th, 2010 for the record :) Yes, some big name bands are absent but that's just the way it goes. I wanted to avoid any covers. There are 105 songs here. Let me know what you think :)

Where are The Who? You said there would be some names missing, but they're an essential part of Rock Band.

This is very true, but you'll be seeing some Who DLC in the launch stuff. I tried to shy away from bands that had been on both RB1 and RB2. A few got through anyways, but that was my goal.

Lovely setlist. I would buy it, if this were the actual RB3 setlist, instantly.

And you're still missing Oingo Boingo. Yeah, I'm a bit on the obsessed side with them, but I've seen a crapload of setlists and only 2 featuring them. Here's a playlist of a couple songs, consider them on the (what I'm sure are) forthcoming download posts.

hmm... don't forget to add at least one "extreme" metal song in the DLC list xD.
ex. Waking The Cadaver - Chased Through The Woods
such an insensate song. (however not really my type of music, but I just wanna play those blastbeats!)
And yes, the song is probably some kind of joke..

On a more serious note, some real grindcore or crust would be appreciated!
(Napalm Death, Nasum, Extreme Noise Terror, Pig Destroyer, Doom, Brutal Truth, .... ....)

nice return, tony! quite a bit of overlap in our setlists (as well as songs i have picked out for DLC in my thread), which means we're both awesome, right?

A couple of artists I would change the song for, but overall I'm in love with this setlist. I especially like your 00's choices. You really seemed to get some of the better stuff from this century. 10/10! :)

I would still change plenty of these songs, especially your Incubus, Clash, and Slipknot choices, but this is still definately an improvement from your other list. I'm surprised to see Kittie, Orgy, and that classic Dylan song, so that's definately a plus. A pretty strong list if it wasn't for a few of these songs

    The Doors-Peace Frog
    Lynyrd Skynyrd-Tuesday's Gone
    Queen-Fat Bottomed Girls
    Scorpions-No One Like You
Alice Cooper-No More Mr. Nice Guy
    Bad Religion-Infected
    Korn-Freak on a Leash
    Pantera-Cemetary Gates
    Rise Against-Ready to Fall

Those are probably the only changes I'd make.

Well thanks, there are plenty of great choices from those bands so I can understand how you might choose another over the ones I did pick. :)

great choices here, Infected was on my original RB3 list but people seemed to point out that I had too many songs from previous GH games so I figured I'd switch it up... most if not all of these should show up eventually

    great list

    thumbs up for andrew wk

only complaint i have is not enough hair metal

that, and instead of rock and roll train, i would have chosen "It's a Long Way to the Top..."

you should add something by extreme
    how about
    Rest in Peace
    Get the Funk Out or
    Play With Me

the lack of hair metal was noted when I was making the list, compared to my original list which also included Motley Crue and Poison along with Bon Jovi... however I was already near my max for my "Rock" and "Metal" genres so they just didn't make it to the disc, but they will show up in the DLC.

the AC/DC choice came off the fact that I figure it just made sense considering the whole AC/DC situation. It's probably the only way we'd ever get that song so I had to pull the trigger...

Love the ska pack. Goldfinger was my favorite band a few years back ,it's cool to see them get some recognition. And the game needs more Bosstones, definitely.

I was thinking "Hunting for Witches" from Bloc Party, but "Banquet" is cool, too. Just love the guitar riff in that song.
