F-BOMB in RB

daddio1975daddio1975 Opening Act
edited February 2009 in Rock Band
I was just playing burn and I noticed the f word in chorus 1b. NIN is one of my favorite bands and I just assumed that was the lyric since I first heard the song. I looked up the actual lyrics and it says piled but I don't think so. No big deal but with all the censorship threads I thought it was kinda funny.

We already have an F-word slip, and that's in the song "Seven".

imo the only ridiculous censoring is in Sir Psycho Sexy *shudder* should have just made it an instrumental.

You can hear an F-bomb in Young Man Blues under the big rock ending.

Daltry screams "ain't got SWEEEEET F***-ALL!" near the end of it, but they turned down the vox there so everyone else has to stop playing for it to come out clearly.

I certainly don't mind the censoring. I have a 3-year old and 6-year old that likes to play RB2. Besides, if you know the song well enough, then nothing is holding you back from saying the original censored word while singing, regardless if it's censored or not. I do it all the time when my kids aren't around (eg. Lit's "My Worst Own Enemy"... I always sing "Cause every now and then I kick the living SH!T out of me."

Nothing wrong with HMX being safe about it. I applaud them for that.

Thats really instesting. Especially since Burn doesnt have the F-word in it at all.................

Maybe you are refering to this line: "Flock of sheep out on display"

nope, its the next line and like I said it is printed as piled but if you listen to the song you will hear that it is clearly not.

It's also clearly not an f-bomb. It's either "burned up" or "bumped up".

Ive listened to the song since the day it was released. And there is no F-bomb

    The next lines:

"Saw your lives burned up around you
I can take it all away"

The word "piled" is not in the song either.

    Full lyrics:

    "This world rejects me
    This world threw me away
This world never gave me a chance
This worlds gonna have to pay
I dont believe in your institutions
I did what you wanted me to
    Like cancer in the system
Ive got a little suprise for you

Something inside of me has opened up its eyes
Why did you put it there did you not realize
This thing inside of me it screams the loudest sound
    Sometimes I think I could

    Burn

I look down there where youre standing
Flock of sheep out on display
Saw your lives burned up around you
I can take it all away

Something inside of me has opened up its eyes
Why did you put it there did you not realize
This thing inside of me it screams the loudest sound
    Sometimes I think I could

Im gonna burn this whole world down

I never was a part of you burn

I am the agent I never was a part of you burn
I am corruption I never was a part of you burn
I am the angel I never was a part of you burn
Of your destruction I never was a part of you burn

I am subversion I never was a part of you burn
Secret desire I never was a part of you burn
I am your future I never was a part of you burn
    Swallow down all that fire"

Listen to it again and listen carefully on the in game song. Chorus 1b. I am not saying that I am 100% correct but listen to that part and if you can come back and tell me its not after you have listened to it in game I will concede that you are right. Just because lyrics are printed a certain way doesn't mean that is how they are sung. Sometimes they take old lyrics that were written before recorded and it changed. Seen it a lot before.

Also with the line in question it is sung "with all" not "saw" your lives ****** up around you.

Im guessing you thought the line "Saw your lives burned up around you"

was "Saw your lives effed up around you"

But it doesnt say the f-bomb. Watch that video and tell me at what time you think you hear the f-bomb.

2:32 and they have it even different then we are saying it. They have it as propped or pumped. Can't really read it. You need to listen to it in practice mode. Chorus 1b. Then respond.

Its propped how they have it in game but if you sing it with propped it sounds nothing like it. Trust me when you get home listen to it in practice and let me know what you think.

Sounds to me like somebody is having one of those days when they WANT to hear the F-Bomb so they make it sound like the F-Bomb.

I don't hear it...and it doesn't even look like it's in the OFFICIAL lyrics of the song either. They're saying propped. The only thing that sounds CLOSE to the F-Bomb is the lyric before which is "Flock".

Get out of the gutter. You're wrong.

Not at all. Like I said in my original I just thought it was humorous but now I am curious. Listen to the practice mode. That youtube video isn't that great with the sound. Somebody get Trent on the horn.

It says propped. Even on the master track. However, it's definitely not super-clear and the mistake is understandable. Trent Reznor is not the clearest enunciator it seems.

I have the song on my iPod. It's not.

Every lyrical search I go to has some variation of "propped" "burned" "wrapped"...

    You're hearing things.

I'm trying to be open to either way and I keep singing along with both versions. I hear ****ed but I very well could be wrong. Did you listen with the clarity of the practice mode? If not do that when you get a chance and let me know what you think. Again, It's just what I hear.

The line on the screen says "With all your lies propped up around you"...

Which is funny since, well, that's exactly what Reznor sings there even on the master, as HMXveng said.

And here's a future tip...Hendrix does not say "Excuse me while I kiss this guy!" ;)

The distortion effects on his vocals certainly don't help, but hey, that's NiN for ya.

    It's not the f-bomb.
