Fantasy All-Star Rock Band Day 47: Pick your favorite Southern Rock KEYBOARDIST!

Welcome to Day 47, Band 7 of the Fantasy All-Star Rock Band Challenge!

Congratulations to the Allmans' BERRY OAKLEY, who joins the band on bass!

Now pick your favorite Southern rock KEYBOARDIST for the band!

Pick artists who represent the best in Southern rock --- be it true southern rock, or rockabilly, or blues/blues rock, or country/ country rock/ alt-country....

I'm not going to *require* that a nominee be from the South (that's Southern US, by the way, in case our friends in Europe, Asia or Oz were wondering ); just that their sound has typically been considered part of one of the above southern genres. (I can think of several major "southern rock" groups right off the top of my head that are/were based in California, the UK, or Australia....)

You may choose any southern rock artist from the 1950s on, male or female, living or dead. Since it's a theme week, there's no "retired band member" restrictions, either.

Day 1: Vocalist: Ronnie Van Zant
Day 2: Lead Guitarist: Duane Allman
Rhythm Guitarist: Hughie Thomasson
Day 3: Drummer: Frank Beard
Day 4: Bassist: Berry Oakley
Day 5: Keyboardist: ???
Day 6: Songwriter(s): ???
Day 7: Name This Band!

Good luck, and happy voting! (Voting closes at ***10 PM EST*** tomorrow.)

I had a lack of confidence anybody else would vote for him. In that case.

    Buddy Brayfield: 2

    I can do that, right?

As much as I don't want this to turn into Skynyrd meets Allmans, I've got to vote for a little variety, too, and bring in some Ozarks....

Hate to vote against Billy (RIP), but good call on:

Hooray for Buddy. I just got 7 OMD vinyl albums in the mail today, along with Larry Lee's solo album. Partay.

....And, Buddy wins. With 3 out of 5 votes.

I can't tell whether people aren't interested in southern rock, or in the game in general anymore.....?

Hopfully the Former. Do the Bad Band for the next theme, ok?

I feel like there's just a general lack of knowledge concerning southern rock musicians, outside of the really popular ones (i.e. Ronnie Van Zant and Duane Allman).

Next week is Open Week, so you can vote for anybody again.

I've been thinking about the Bad Band, but I'm not sure how to work it....I'm sure we could get LOTS of hits for bad singers and bad guitarists, a few for bad drummers, but can anybody really name bad bass players, keyboardists or songwriters? I may try to make an all- (Bad) Vocal group.....

Pete Wentz, Lol Tulhurst, Diane Warren. Vocal Group would be too easy.

Check this thread out for a few bad bands.

i think a Bad Band is a bad idea, just will lead to a lot of flaming and arguing

It's resulting in arguing already, and it's, at soonest, two weeks away XD

EDIT: And I'm not familiar enough with southern rock to really vote for anything outside of vocalist and guitarist, so that's why I haven't participated in the past couple polls.
