Hmm....The seems to be The Community's Grunge Band, but I can't think of a good Grunge Bassist right now. Mabye I'll vote later.

Funk rock bassists playing with a grunge band? Does not compute.

That's an inspired choice, and I think Rob would work well with this "so 90s it hurts" supergroup.

This might actually make a fun band until Vedder showed up and sucked the life out of them with some barely understandable mumbled downer lyrics.

I don't like being too dependent on genre when deciding. I like it when we throw in a few people from other genres that fit in the band nonetheless.

i.e. The Who aren't punk, but Keith Moon would be a great drummer for a mostly punk band.

He'd work better. And Gowienczyk said that too and voted Flea, so why aren't you flamming him?

Flea's worked with Dave Navarro before and isn't a self-indulgent "experimental" musician like Claypool is. He's also more consistent.

Because I didn't go through the thread, searching posts looking for people to flame.

And Flea has worked with Navarro, on what is said to be, and I agree is, the worst RHCP album.

And what is up with "experimental" and "self-indulgent" now being a bad thing? I mean, they are just doing what they want to do musically, just like the "back to basics" put were and are.

Like I said before; funk rock in this band does not compute.

    - Just because they use slap doesn't mean they play funk, especially bassists like Flea and Claypool.

    - Dave Navarro is a huge fan of funk and implements it into his playing, so you just made a bit of a dumb statement there.

    - RHCP's worst album is either Blood Sugar Sex Magik or their latest, so lol.

    - Claypool would conflict with Navarro's composition and they would NOT compliment each other at ALL.

id say their worst is Californication or By the Way

and to the person who said Flea is funk rock, yeah, in the 80s, RHCP had a touch of funk in their music, but mostly due to Hillel, over the last 21 years RHCP has been pretty straightforward alternative or just rock
