Rock Band 3: Impossible Dream (My 2nd Setlist), Give Feedback Please!

edited May 2009 in Your Ultimate Setlist
I’m going to call this the “Rock Band 3: Impossible Dream” list, mostly because of the amount of songs listed (not even including “bonus songs“). That being said though, this list should also contain a track for every rocker out there. If not, I failed.

I tried to be as varied as possible in genre’s (although looking back it's possible I added more metal), so hopefully I nailed that.

A lot of my songs from my previous list are in this one (old list link provided at end), but even then I still did a good bit of changing (and adding). Fortunately, some songs from the old list have been released officially as Rock Band DLC (some songs even got confirmed while making this list like Europe’s “Final Countdown”, Bullet for My Valentine’s “Waking the Demon” and Alien Ant Farm’s “Smooth Criminal“). Anyways, as usual, give feedback and recommend your own thoughts on the choices. Enjoy.

NOTE: While I’m trying to go by the exclusives the two major music game series’ have, I’m entirely ignoring the WMG scenario going on right now. I do this in the hopes things get settled soon. Also, no bonus songs since those are usually new stuff and generally more random.

117 Songs total, Bolded/Italic/Red are recommended listens, **__** Denotes New Addition

Not a bad list. You have some great songs on there that are classics and some not as well known songs that I love ("Ghostflowers", "Panic Switch", "Tornado of Souls")

Pretty good list although I wouldn't mind some Flogging Molly to go with the Dropkick Murphys song(Finally a great choice, most pick Shipping Up To Boston) to expand the Celtic Punk genre a bit. The only other problem I have is no Misfits? come on, with how influential they were they atleast deserve one song.

I actually did believe it or not. When I first posted I had a "considered songs" section with "1,000,000 Years B.C." and "Die, Die My Darling". I must've forgot to have one of them make the cut. "Monster Mash" wouldn't be bad now that I think about it either.

I'll go ahead and add "Die...".

One of the most decent i've seen. Hopefully they'll add the double bass feature in RB3 so a couple more double bass songs would help

Much abloged, thank you. Will add a few since this isn't a concrete list, rather just a bunch of tunes I'd love to see.

I like ti just one problem that is only one New Wave song which can be fixed with DLC

Emerson, Lake & Palmer* - Karn Evil 9 (Prog) *NOTE: Guitar charted as Keyboard

Love it would love to play all 30 minutes and very difficult although I would have picked Tarkus because I love that song good choice :D

Although I probably should have more New Wave, a valid argument against that would be the solo "Emo" song (Fallout Boy - Dead on Arrival) in Rock Band 1. Nonetheless, I'll probably end up adding one in the future. Thank you for the feedback.

    More oldies and motown.

Going to a GoGo - Miracles
    Mustang Sally - Wilson Pickett
    My Girl - Temptations
    Misirlou - Dick Dale

Oh well, I'll probably have to wait until Rock Band XIV comes out...

This list is more of a WIP, so Killswitch will probably show its head in the future. Also thanks for the compliments on "Cold Wind to Valhalla" and "First It Giveth" you two, and glad you appreciated the bold/red Fizzeler. :D

I plan on adding some songs tomorrow too, so heads up with that as well.

    Blood Brothers-
If they're "punk" then... we have more punk bands out there than we thought. I'd say they're more along the lines of screamo; that's just me.

But I'd so buy this. The Foo Fighters and Avenged songs were an automatic win; those tracks are way too overlooked.
I've been dying to see some Bush thrown into RB. And I'm glad there's finally one song that excludes an instrument other than vocals.
Matchbook Romance was also a win.
Beautiful People would be freakin sick.
I'd prefer a different Muse song though... Knights of Cydonia would be so fun.

Pretty solid setlist you have here.
I'd love HMX forever if they actually had a setlist like this.

Yeah, you have a point bout the Blood Brothers.

I'll be honest, I somehow overlooked the no drums in "Glycerine". I did work on this list pretty late from time to time.

Nonetheless I think something like no certain instrument is fine with DLC (would be more fair for vocalists too), but an on disc tune should include everyone. I should honestly probably change it.

Nonetheless though, thank you much for the support.

This list gets full approval for having Hocus Pocus. That song would be so ridiculously awesome it really is hard to comprehend.

I think it could use a few more indie picks, especially from bands that haven't been in RB yet. May I suggest a Bloc Party song like Banquet? While I feel slightly deeper cuts from them, Like Eating Glass for example, would play a little better, its best to stick to singles.

Yeah, good call. Bloc Party is a band I'm fairly familiar with too, so I'll try and include some next time around editing this list. Thank you for the feedback.
