My Ultimate Setlist (100 Songs w/ DLC Coming)

Watchmen89Watchmen89 Road Warrior
edited August 2009 in Your Ultimate Setlist
Alright so I decided to make my setlist that would be a possible Rock Band disc list. I have included 100 songs (and will be adding DLC as well to the mix) expanding from the 1960's to the present. Yes there are some weird choices throughout this list (and will probably be flamed for them) but I tried to get some stuff that could work in this game that would hit other genres. And if your favorite genre is not really touched, I will try and get some more of that in DLC (I know that it is lacking punk and will get to that soon). Without any more delay, here is my setlist for what I would like to see in the game.

1960's (5 songs)
The Beach Boys "Surfin' U.S.A." (Rock)
Cream "White Room" (Classic Rock)
The Rolling Stones "Paint it Black" (Classic Rock)
Steppenwolf "Born to be Wild" (Classic Rock)
The Zombies "Time of the Season" (Pop/Rock)

1970's (16 songs)
ABBA "Dancing Queen" (Pop)
AC/DC "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock 'n' Roll)" (Classic Rock)
Alice Cooper "No More Mr. Nice Guy" (Rock)
Blondie "Heart of Glass" (New Wave)
Blue

Decent but too many GH repeats (repeats of repeats even!) and too many 2000's songs.

Yeah I realize that there are too many Guitar Hero songs in it right now and some have been used in GH:SH and GH:M but I want them in RB because I don't own those games. But I will be getting to stuff that is not in those games and branching out.

not compared to rock band, rock band has twice as many 2000's songs than songs before the 2000's pretty much, this setlist is good and i would definately buy it, probably one of the best ive seen

i dont own gh so i dont care if there is songs from gh on the list, nice to see more than 2 60s songs too

I'm not the biggest Coldplay fan but that song is really good for rhythmn games (Check out some videos of the GH:WT and see that it works really well)

Very true about the 2000's in RB. And there are quite a bit of good songs that should be in this game from this decade. Yes there is quite a bit of crap that is played on the radio but there are some really good jams for this game. Just got to trust me on that :D

Pretty nice, I loved most of it except for a few of the songs in the 2000's. Of course even there I didn't notice anything I hated. Big props for the Coheed, Muse and Silversun Pickups selections.

Love all three of those bands. And thanks for the compliment. I tried to get a mixed bag for everyone to like. I felt like RB2 did a good job of that so I tried to do the same thing.

I almost put La Grange on there but I was trying to avoid the GH repeats (which I have failed at doing so far...:D)

You know, this is a very good setlist, and there's a lot of songs on here that I'd really love to see in Rock Band. In particular, there's a few songs (Wynona's Big Brown Beaver, Rusty Cage, Fox on the Run) which have long been on my wishlist and we seem to have a lot in common--

    Wait a minute.

    TIMBERLAKE???

That's it, you're out of the will.

lol :p That's one of the songs I was really worried about getting crap about (that and ABBA). But if you listen, there's a cool bass part and would be fun for vocalists. But if I can't persuade you, I completely understand because I don't really like anything else by him.

To get some more feedback from people, I'm going to turn my week 5 DLC over to others to have a say in what I should do. I will do two 3 packs from two categories. The first will be a band 3 pack the other a themed pack. I will give 5 options for band and 3 for the themed pack and the first to 3 in each category wins or whoever has the most votes for each category in 24 hours. Here are the choices:

    Band Pack
    Deftones
    Iron Maiden
    Paramore
    Primus
    Queens of the Stone Age

    Themed Pack
    90's One Hit Wonders
    Mayhem Festival
    Southern Rock
