WTF Hard Day's Night Lyrics Are WRONG

"So why on earth would I moan" is not right.

The proper line is So why I love to come home.

How could this not be proofread? How is this mistake on millions of DVD's? They better patch this one soon.

It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
    Will make me feel alright

You know I work all day to get you money to buy you things
And it's worth it just to hear you say you're gonna give me everything
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
    You know I feel okay
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
    Will make me feel alright

    Owwww

But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
    Will make me feel alright
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, all through the night, yeah

It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
    Will make me feel alright
    You know I feel alright
    You know I feel alright...

I think you will find that line is in the song :)

Let's see, this game was built with the help of the Beatles themselves. Who am I going to trust first?

Actually you got that wrong. The proper line is "So why on earth should I moan"

    Sorry.

It's kind of like if they put Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze in Rock Band and someone complained that it didn't say "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy"

GHWT uses a live version of "Purple Haze". In this recording, Jimi says "'Scuse me while I kiss that guy" (which he apparently had intentionally done in some of his live performances).

    Fourth try...

Don't hijack the thread with Hendrix nonsense.

Don't trust some lame lyrics website.

    Trust your ears.

    And the sheet music...

    I learned something I didn't know tonight.

I stand by my assertion that the lyrics are wrong in Rockband on A Hard Day's Night.

In the second verse the game says "So why on earth should I moan" and it should be "So why I love to come home"

However, when this verse is repeated near the end of the song the correct words are "So why on earth should I moan". I never noticed this line in the song.

The sheet music does not have the "So why on earth should I moan" because it always basically is a repeat of the first time it is said.

Don't take my word for it, listen to the song.

But when you do and find that I am right, give me props.

Arlen, you're wrong, not the game.

It's "So why on earth should I moan" each and every time. It's a common lyrical mistake that people make about this song.

Besides, "so why I love to come home" doesn't make sense in the context of the song lyrics anyway if you'd stop to think about it. John's complaining about a long hard day('s night), being tired and working like a dog. But then he says, "so why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone I feel allright." Saying that ..."I shouldn't complain about all this nonsense, because my girl's gonna make me feel allright once I get her alone."

"So why I love to come home" doesn't make grammatical sense.

And don't trust Hal Leonard either, I'll bet he got the chords wrong too.

I would place your trust in Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Dhani Harrison, as well as Giles Martin, over a third party book publisher. The lyrics are correct as shown in the game. You are welcome to your own interpretation but the game is factually correct.

Well, I did, and now I feel like a dummy.

Not because you were right, but because I let you convince me there might be a possibility you were.

But there wasn't. You're dead wrong.
But when you do and find that I am right, give me props.
    Nope, no props for you.

Initially, we had put together our own set of these facts -- things like how the haircuts originated and other bits that have been accepted as fact in Beatles mythology over the years -- and brought it to Paul to review. We went through it moment by moment, and many times Paul was like, "no, it didn't happen that way," and corrected us. So one of the fun things about releasing this game is that there's going to be all this stuff that Beatles superfans will say "you didn't get it right!," but in fact we'll be setting the record straight on some of the fallacies.

I don't need to pull out my copy of Hard Day's Night to know how wrong the OP is. I've been listening to, playing, and singing this song for forty years. In the literally thousands of times that verse has crossed my ears, it never contained the words the OP wrote.

Our lyrics are correct. We got to listen to the vocal stems with no other sound.

Turns out it is "The girl with kaleidoscope eyes" and not "the girl with colitis goes by."

    Who would have thunk it.
