    Suggestions :

Coheed and cambria - Gravemakers & gunslingers
Between the buried and me - Obfuscation
    Symphony X - Seven
Dream Theater - The dark eternal night

These would all go in the 00s section

No Genesis? no good at all...

and there wouldn't be enough room on a disc for 84 songs with an average 8 or 9 mins per song

    I'd rather see:

Coheed and Cambria - The Willing Well I: Fuel For The Feeding End
Between the Buried and Me - Ants of the Sky
Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 1: The Miracle and The Sleeper

    As for bands, I'd say...

Cynic, Jethro Tull, Camel, IQ, Marillion, Genesis, Triumvirat, Porcupine Tree, To-Mera, The Mars Volta, and The Fall of Troy

DT is getting their famous 42 minute long epic BTBAM will not be on there C&C will probably get something off of the first album

As for the bands with the exception of Tull and The Fall Of Troy all will have one song (my Mathcore will be THA, TDEP, and Converge not BTBAM, PTH, or TFT)

Also a few more bands... Mastodon, Mew, Muse, Karnivool, The Alan Parsons Project, and Focus

Again Muse is a no (following the PA definition Radiohead is getting a track though) the rest are perfect and I need to decide on a perfect APP track and of course Focus choice is obvious :D

    Opeth and Gojira maybe?

For Mastodon, something off of Crack The Skye would work best for a prog game.

For Opeth in a prog only band I would like to see Windowpane. If you choose something way death metal my pick is Baying of the Hounds.

I'd point out Frost*, Amorphis, and possibly some of Devin Townsend's solo work...

...and, in terms of more zeuhl, I'm really, really enjoying Koenjihyakkei...

EDIT: Oh, and Phideaux, Abydos, and Gentle Giant...

I have "Nostalgia" on my Metal list, bass is so sick.

Also, lolwtf at Radiohead. Maybe some progressive influences or traits, but I can't think of one truly progressive song they've done.

The Sound of Animals Fighting, and Minus the Bear.

I would say 'The Fall of Troy' but you already said no to that.

I don't know much about progressive rock. Make this list good enough and I'll probably learn something. :)

    EDIT:
    Also, dredg.

Blame Prog Archives for calling them Prog.

Personally that is one of the things I find odd that they call Radiohead Prog., but not Muse nonetheless I need some recognizable and well known bands/songs so Radiohead fits well

That's a great list. Other additions I'd like to suggest are The Alan Parsons Project, Bigelf, The Gathering, Gazpacho, IQ, Kamelot (I consider them as much prog as they are power metal), OSI, Saga, Shadow Gallery and Star One.
Im in the same boat when it comes to Kamelot.

For final tier everything, definitely throw in Spiral Architect. Spinning would be awesome, same with Cloud Constructer.

Paranoid Android is pretty progressive, bro. Prog enough for this list, at least. Some stuff on Hail to the Thief was pretty proggy as well. I wouldn't say that they should be on this list instead of a dedicated prog band, though. I mean, Porcupine Tree's done a few songs that might be considered alt, but I wouldn't put them on an alternative list...

    Good list otherwise, though.

Updated with 9 more tracks and yes I know the Asia track is not very Progressive, but I need some Prog. Pop hits to represent several Prog. bands going pop in the 80s

I'm not sure if I agree with your Marillion choice there. I know the height of their popularity was with Fish, but they've made a lot more albums with Hogarth by now, and it's during his time as a vocalist that the sound of the band was defined. That and Script for a Jester's Tear makes them sound like a Genesis knockoff.

If you're going with a Fish track, I'd suggest Grendel (still very Genesis-y, but I can't resist an epic), Assassing, Fugazi or Blind Curve.

For Hogarth, I'd go with either The Great Escape, King or The Invisible Man.

I think the best full album choices would be either Afraid of Sunlight or Marbles, with my preference going to the former. As great as Brave is, too many songs wouldn't work very well in the game.
