    I used to rank them equally, but when I really think about it Alligator is the clear winner. The album blows my mind every single time I listen to it. Every song is just so goddamn awesome, in particular "Lit Up," "Friend Of Mine," "Abel," and "Mr. November."

    Funnily enough, my all-time favorite National song is on Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers. So. Damn. Good.

    hmmm... yeah i really haven't done much listening to their later albums, they are terribly under appreciated.

    Do it. They just released remastered versions of Liar, Goat, Head and Down, and they all sound pretty damn good. At least, I noticed a significant improvement in sound quality over the originals. Maybe it's just my way to justify buying 60% of The Jesus Lizard's discography again...
