Well, you were listening to Sean's stream tonight, so you have an idea of what's going on. :) Tons of songs can be authored very quickly, but the bottleneck is with the small amount of people playtesting tracks on the Creators site.
No doubt the number of playtesters will increase once the program opens up, though. Then again, so will the number of songs to playtest, so I guess it all works out!

With the addition of Rose of Jericho - "Buried Cold" we've finally surpassed 20 tracks. :)
Anyway you could put a count of the total number of songs in the OP too? It's quicker for you to put it in there with each update then everybody counting it each time.

The problem we're running into is since there is a limited amount of testers in the closed beta, and songs need a certain amount of positive reviews before they can move to the passed section, when real life or what have you gets in the way of a few people playtesting, then the songs will never get approved.

You can only review a song once and if everyone who is currently play testing has reviewed it, it gets stuck at 88% or what have you.

When it opens up we shouldn't have that problem, but that's the reason that more songs aren't getting pushed through right now.

Hopefully some of the 250+ people volunteering to be playtesters in Henry's thread will be given access so the bottleneck can be fixed.

I think in that list there are definitely some insta-buys, I'm thinking White Heat and Sestri Levante would look in my setlist
By the way, I have been trying to follow a particular song, 'Stand for Something' by Skindred. Is there anyway that anyone can tell how that one is doing? And for the record, is The Future Soon going to be released as a RBN or even a regular Rock Band song?

I can tell you, because I worked on that song. :) It currently needs just a couple more votes to pass Peer Review.

It was authored by HMX folks, but it'll be released through the RBN. Jonathan Coulton has several songs being worked on for RBN, with various authors (HMX, RhythmAuthors, RockGamer Studios).

Awesome. I wish I could do peer review stuff but I live in the UK and we kind of haven't got any of that yet. Sigh. Song should be awesome when it's released though. I love their album

quite a few day one buys for me:

Amberian Dawn - River of Tunoi (i will get every power metal song and the fact that its female fronted is another plus.....plus its a kickass song)

DnA's Evolution - The Heist (most kick ass drum solo ever......nuff said)

Rose of Jericho - Buried Cold (female fronted and awesome vox)

Zack Wilson - Another California Song (reminds me alot of Brad Paisley, incredibly catchy)

and...........i still cant believe im saying this but.....

Alias Unknown - Top Back (it actually looks really fun and looks like it works really well in the game.....i actually think it might be one of the more fun songs so far despite the genre)

This thread is for songs that have completed the Peer Review process and will be up for sale when the store launches. The thread you want is here (I am surprised that one is stickied and this one isn't).

Hey, thanks for this awesome thread. I know you have a bunch of info about the songs already and this might be a stretch but could you also list the final tier difficulties for the songs? I'm curious how each of them turned out.

River of Tuoni has the only devil-tiered instrument(drums) and White Heat is the hardest overall.

Awesome, jjdude! I've added those to the OP but in plain-text format to keep the list easy to navigate.

For anyone hoping for more devil-tiered material, don't worry, there is plenty of that coming. ;)

Q: How much do these songs cost?
A: Unfortunately, the price is not displayed on the creators.rockband.com pages, so I don't have that information. Most songs will likely be priced at $1 (80 Microsoft Points).

    Doing?

What do you mean by that?

If you mean how are they selling, none of them have gone on sale yet.

If you mean how is it doing in the review process it is at 83%. Almost approved.

Do we really think $1 is going to be the going rate for RBN songs? I mean, I won't complain, but I really wasn't sure if any consensus had emerged among developers.
I don't think there is an official consensus, but it seems a general understanding that the greatest potential exposure is at the cheapest price point available. This may not apply to some better-known bands, and may change if the overall quality of RBN charts proves to be equivalent to Harmonix charts, but for now appears the most sensible option.

Food for thought: would you rather have 100 curious RBN users buy your song at $1, or be limited to 25 dedicated fans buying it at $2?

I can tell you that there are some charts that you would never know that HMX didn't author them.

Others have a different feel than a HMX chart, they still play fine and are fun, but HMX has a certain feel to their charts, kind of a playing style they set up that just clicks when you are playing it, whether you realize it or not.

Some of the charts have that feel to them, other's don't.

Again, don't think this means the other charts aren't good or fun, they just feel different when you play them.

You'll know what I mean when you play them.
