DookieManDookieMan Road Warrior
edited December 2009 in The Beatles: Rock Band
The songs you see in this list were chosen upon the community here. I kind of wish more people participated, but it made a great list nonetheless. I'm aware there were many ties, so bear with me there and the order I put them in the list doesn't matter. They're both equal. Anyway, the number on the left represents it's ranking, and the number on the right shows how many points it had.

1 A Day In The Life 259
2 Strawberry Fields Forever 242
3 Here Comes the Sun 214

It's always fascinating to look at the results of things like this. I would not have expected it to take until number 7 for a Paul song to get in, that's quite interesting. Also interesting to see that John had the major hand in writing 9 of the top 15 songs.

Good List none the less. Not surprised by 1, 2 or 3 on the list.

Surprised 'Hey Jude' is below 'Here Comes the Sun', but I digress

    Shocker

I'm surprised Hey Bulldog is ranked so high. I mean, it's great and all, but ranked above Across The Universe, Blackbird, I've Just Seen A Face, etc.?

Glad to see that I'm far from the only person who loves "I'm Only Sleeping" and "She Said She Said."

Interesting list. Pretty surprised "And Your Bird Can Sing" made the list at all. It's a good song, but it just doesn't stand out all that much for me.

Edit: And VERY surprised that "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and "The Fool On the Hill" didn't make it.

Don't Let Me Down didn't make the cut. How unfortunate.

And here are the pre-1965 songs that made the list:

    1 A Hard Day’s Night
    2 She Loves You
3 I Want To Hold Your Hand
    4 Please Please Me
    5 Eight Days a Week

She Said She Said's on the list? That's an odd choice.

It's sad that not many older songs are on the list. I tried making my list half older Beatles, half newer.

Can we see the full cut, the entire list, or would that be impossible?

I'm very happy to see that my Numero Uno is right there at number 28. Although, no Your Mother Should Know? Shocking.
Also, I was almost hoping there would be some closet Rocky Racoon fans here, but only me, it seems. It's my number 4.

But yes, going back to my first point, can we see the full list please?

It would be very annoying and hard to do, and some parts are missing. However, I can tell you that Rocky Raccoon got... oh ****. I read the list wrong. Gah, I'm such an idiot. I'll get back to you once I finish it.

Just added in Come Together at number 45. So, that took off Maxwell's Silver Hammer, which is unfortunate for you as Rocky Raccoon also got 56 points.

Your Mother Should Know received 30 points.

ADITL shouldn't be so high. I can understand Strawberry Fields, but Here Comes the Sun is infinitely better, as well as a few songs lower (or not) on the list.

I'm surprised about Your Mother Should Know being so darn low!

Now we should vote for the worst song out of these 50.

Mine goes to In My Life. What a dull, boring song, can't believe this is considered one of the Beatles' classics.

Probably my personal favorite, or atleast up very high.

I think A Day In The Life definitely deserves number 1.

Glad to see Hey Bulldog so high up. Good to see it's finally getting some appreciation. Personally, I'm surprised Rain didn't make the list. I love the song, and I thought several others did too, but oh well. Lucy In the Sky not quite making the list is surprising as well.

No. You aren't. In fact, I enjoy those songs more so than the title track.

You are not alone. If I Fell might be my favorite Beatles ballad in fact. People just do not like the early stuff on these forums though. I'm not even a big fan of the early songs that did make it. I Want To Hold You Hand and Eight Days A Week are really boring to me. I would have liked to see some of these songs make it.

    I Saw Here Standing There
    There's A Place
    Twist And Shout
    All My Loving
    This Boy
    If I Fell
    And I Love Her
    Can't Buy Me Love
    You Can't Do That
    I'll Follow The Sun
    Ticket To Ride
    I'm Down
    Yes It Is

I know that there can never be a perfect Beatles list that pleases everybody though. I just hope they release one of the early albums like A Hard Day's Night for DLC to open people's eyes up a little bit more.
