The PS3/Wii RBN Songs Request Thread

tepidsharktepidshark Rising Star
edited July 2011 in The Rock Band Network
Put into this thread what RBN songs you would like to see HMX port over the PS3 & Wii versions of Rock Band 2. (I would suggest listing specific songs as opposed to something like "bring over all the songs by X artist")

You can look at these two threads (or here) for what RBN songs are available & what is in the works.(Update: this Twitter says they will update 10 minutes after a song is put on XBLA.

Things to be aware of.

1. I am not affiliated with MTV Games or Harmonix, so this is not an official thing put out by them.

2. Like the Request a Song function on the website, just because you request something does not guarantee it will happen. Submitting something to this thread is more of a suggestion then a demand.

3. In order for a song to be brought over to other platforms, the rights holders must have signed the appropriate paperwork. So, until that has occurred it can not come to other platforms.

4. Because Rock Band Network is built on Microsoft's XNA tools, all songs submitted to Rock Band Network have at least a 30 day exclusive period on the 360 (though it could be even longer than 30 days as well). Thus, you will never see a song arrive other consoles day and date with the 360 Version.

Other then that enjoy.

Updates:
1. As you can read later on on the first page here, as of right now the forum mods can't sticky this. So, if you like this thread please contribute so we can keep it afloat in this forum.

2. I am including the Twitter RBN News feed because that might be a better and more official place to see what songs are in the pipeline.

3. Also here is the official list of day one tracks for Rock Band Network.

4. Details on how RBN will work on PS3 & First Tracks officially coming can be found here. Keep posting to this thread for suggestions for future ports!

Notes for forum moderators.

- If you think this thread should be moved to another part of the forum (like Ultimate Setlist) just go ahead and do it.

- If there is any other disclaimer stuff you think I should put in let me know and I will do that.

- This thread might be a good candidate for sticky.

Can a mod sticky this? while i know the songs chosen also need to go through legal allowance, i think it would be good for HMX to get a good base at what songs we want more than others

The RBN section has a lot of stickies already, most of which are pretty vital... so I think adding another sticky will clutter things up too much. I think us PS3 users will just have to keep this baby afloat ourselves.

On that note, the songs I'm personally hoping for to varying degrees, with my top picks in bold:

3 Inches of Blood - Battles and Brotherhood
Amberian Dawn - He Sleeps in a Grove
Amberian Dawn - River of Tuoni

    Andrew Buch - Trippolette
Children of Nova - The Complexity of Light
    DnA's Evolution - The Heist
    Glass Hammer - Hyperbole
    Glass Hammer - Sleep On

In This Moment - Mechanical Love
KMFDM - A Drug Against War
    KMFDM - Juke Joint Jezebel

    Lacuna Coil - Survive
Marillion - Whatever Is Wrong With You
Matter in the Medium - Persistence of Vision
    Skeletonwitch - Crushed Beyond Dust
    Speck - Grumpytown
Speck - VP of Booty Reports
Steve Vai - For the Love of God (Live)
Steve Vai - Get the Hell Out of Here
Steve Vai - The Attitude Song
The Main Drag - Cease and Desist
The Main Drag - Don't Let Me Down (Slowly)
The Main Drag - Dove Nets
    The Main Drag - Homosuperior
The Main Drag - How We'd Look On Paper
The Main Drag - Love During Wartime
    The Main Drag - Megatron
The Main Drag - Talk Them Down
The Main Drag - Teeth, Face, Outerspace
The Main Drag - Tricky Girl
The Main Drag - What's Your Favorite Dinosaur?
You Shriek - Lilith in Libra
    You Shriek - No Heroes

    Bang Camaro - Revolution
Graveyard BBQ - Cheat on the Church

GH1/2 had awesome bonus songs, I'd love to get them and every song by the artists.

Thrilled to see KMFDM finally in Rock Band, also would love the Shins and Of Montreal stuff. I would buy any of these in a second if they were brought to the PS3.

I'm 99% sure Harmonix said they are going to get the RBN songs that are the most popular to put on the PS3 and Wii. If that's still the case, a request thread won't do anything.

I really need to know this, this is one of my most requested bands, and I was the one that notified them about Rock Band Network in the first place.

Perhaps not, but it's a fun outlet for PS3/Wii owners just the same.

I can say that, at least as a guitar player, this was really cool to play. Trickier than you'd think. I hope it sells so they think to put more up, let alone so that PS3 and Wii can have a chance with it.

Also, for those who apparently don't seem to be aware, but Surprise Me Mr. Davis is a side project of the guys in The Slip with some other folks. Just sayin'.

I don't know if the store will launch in exactly one month but I do remember reading somewhere there was the exclusive lasting for at least 30 days. Maybe I am mistaken in which case somebody please correct me.

If you are right then it would entirely be dependent on what 360 owners buy. Since the PS3 & Wii don't have the full service they wouldn't have a voice in what songs they would like to see appear on the other versions. Thus, my concept in creating the thread was to give PS3 & Wii owners that voice (though like I said in the first post it would be a suggestion as opposed to a demand).

You can update to include Push Push (Lady Lightning). It's up on Xbox Live, it's just not updated on the RBN Store. It'll probably be there tomorrow. But either way, it's a confirmed, done, launch day song.

I would start with the following (band\artist names alone mean I would buy all). Note that this includes prospective tracks as well as currently released.

    Kristin Hersh

    Stroke 9 - Kick Some Ass '09
    Kid Beyond
    Ministry
Graveyard BBQ - By the Grace of the Grill
    Josh Freese
    Paul & Storm
REvolting Cocks (maybe, have to see the charts)

As a UK PS3er I'm not expecting it to work at first whenever they bring it over due to discrepencies in pricing conversions and issues in moving it across. However whenever it comes over I'm expecting we will be receiving the bigger name bands including Lacuna Coil, In This Moment and Flogging Molly. With these I expect HMX bands or those very close to them (Coulton I'm looking at you). Problem is we don't know how many we'll get a month but my personal choices for extras would be.

    Skindred - Stand For Something
Amberian Dawn - He Sleeps in a Grove & Rivers of Tuoni

Realistically think we'd only get one of the Dawn tracks depending on sales if we'll get both. Those are the three instants but some of the others I've not mentioned I'll certainly look at. These were the three smaller band entries I'm interest in as instabuys.

For purely selfish reasons, I really hope that the PS3 selections come from what performs well on the XBOX. That way, the unknown artists who've managed to get a foot in the door there will have at least a ghost of a chance to break out to a wider audience. I'm as psyched as anyone to see a lot of the names on these want lists, but it's not like anyone I'm seeing requested here is all that obscure. Natch, you've already heard them, and that's why you want to play their music. That's understandable, but to me the coolest thing about RBN is that it opens the playing field to artists who don't already have a sizable audience.

    ETA: Geez, I was innocent then. I REALLY hope that it's not just going to be based on Xbox performance... ^_^;

    Edge - Underwater I Drown.

I saw it on the 'Drummers Delight' demo video on RhythmAuthors website and really want to play it. The demo of their song comes on at about 4:10. I really like the first song on the demo too. I actually like a lot of them. Hope to see these on the PS3 soon.

If you haven't seen the video, check it out. Lots of cool songs:

My top pick, even though it isn't out of playtesting yet, is definitely "Being Here" by The Stills. It has a sort of "pop rock anthem" feel to it, and I could see it being a solid fun-for-the-whole-band type of track. But for a more selfish reason, I'm a big fan of the band.

But here are my picks so far:
    "Being Here" - The Stills
    "Even Rats" - The Slip
"Children of December" - The Slip
    "Juke Joint Jezebel" - KMFDM
"The Mob Goes Wild" - Clutch
