    About this Thread

    * When is it updated:
    - It is updated based on the Friday announcement.
    - As of now, HMX will announce all new RBN bands from the week in the Friday announcement, this is when they will be added here.

    * Notes:
    - The fact that a song is a cover is ignored, that still counts as the band in the game
    - Counting track packs as DLC
    - I used the data off of the RB site, some of which was wrong and I had to correct. Hopefully everything is right.
    - In some cases, RB treats the following bands as separate that I do not:
-- Tom Petty / Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers
-- Joan Jett / Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
-- Jonathan Coulton / GLaDOS and Jonathan Coulton
-- MC Frontalot / MC Frontalot feat. Brad Sucks
    -- Styx/REO Speedwagon collaboration

I think you should put The Main Drag and Speck as having DLC, since they are on RBN. I don't think the Main Drag will have any regular RB store songs, since all of their songs are on the Network, just a thing to think about

Agreed. Counting them and moved it to it's own post. I know we have a Lego band incoming (Carl Douglas) too so it's the best move I think.

This does raise one question, what to do about Vagiant / Tiajuana Sweetheart. They are the exact same band, just a name change. Do I change any reference to Vagiant to the new name or do I list the with a / like above? Or do I list them as seperate bands and therefore not count them as a disc band that has DLC.

I'd go with the slash. It's the same band

Question is how long its going to take the number of unique Rock Band Network bands to overtake the bands weve had from the main download and disc releases... not very long by the looks of it which is insane given how long weve been getting DLC for the series

There are already 100+ bands in the Review or Test that would be new to RB. 329 (+ any new bands along the way) is a lot to catch up to though.

I really wouldn't count south park as a new band as we already have a song from south park(timmy). Though it should now be counted as having dlc, which strikes another "band" of the list of rb1 bands without dlc.

I considered it, but viewed it the same way if Green Day and The Network (or Foxboro Hottubs) had DLC, same people but different band.

Also, I had missed 2 RBN bands from last week (Cate Sparks and Broadcast). They have been added and the numbers updated.

I see where you're coming from.

I see them more as both being South Park joke songs and not really looking at the actual "band" because in this case it isn't really a band.

Kind of like if we got a Sponge Bob song sung by Patrick, it would still be like a Sponge Bob song and would fall under that umbrella.

Plus it takes a song of the list of rb1 songs with no dlc that otherwise would never come off.

Just thought I'd fully explain my view on it since my first post was brief.:)

Now with the greenday/the network situation, I fully agree those should be separate because they are in fact different bands. It's not like the case with Vagiant/Tiajuana Sweetheart band where they just changed the name and the slash makes sense.

You should probably change "South Park" to "Eric Cartman" if you want to match the way it was credited in the game. Maybe make a note at the bottom of the post or somewhere that both Eric Cartman and Timmy & The Lords of the Underworld are both derived from South Park.

Hey, shouldn't Green Day have 53 songs instead of 6? I'm just putting this out there considering you update this based on announcement, and the number of songs was confirmed.

I do understand if you're waiting until June to do this, since that would also make sense.

I did it as South Park because that is what HMX put in their announcement thread:

South Park – “Poker Face (Cartman version)”

but if the artist is Eric Cartman in game I will change it.

I don't update it til the band/songs is actually available in the game.

I hate to sound like an ass, but that's a blatant lie. If that were the case then you would update this a week after the announcement, and you wouldn't have Jimi listed as having 14 tracks.

I guess I have to spell it out explicitly. For disc based additions, I don't update it til the band/songs is actually available in the game. Particularly because these things can be delayed.

For DLC I try to do it when it is announced.

Well sure didn't sound like you hated it.:p

Don't see why it matters much as it's a difference of a few days from dlc announcement to dlc availability, vs. a disc being a few months off.
