Reaver;3576158 said:Well I hope these "stand-out" tracks are ones that aren't just decided by popularity. I mean, what if a great song doesn't get that many purchases? Does that mean it'll never show on the PSN/Wii?But I doubt they'd let the likes of "Bodies", "Bullet With Butterfly Wings", "Higher" or "Fly To The Angels" slip by.
BallisticJunkfood;3576146 said:I have my doubts as to whether or not the PS3 is ever gonna get the full RBN experience, but in a couple of weeks Harmonix is supposed to start releasing some of their "Stand Out Tracks" on the PS3 and Wii stores so expect to see a few RBN songs coming soon. You know, you don't have to buy it if you don't want to.

T-Hybrid;3576520 said:Yeah, that sucks when people spend their money how they choose to on music they like. Those inconsiderate jerks. I hate them.*goes and plays 'Dirty Little Secret'*----------To put it bluntly. There are already what, 160+ songs in the first few weeks of the RBN? And people I suppose will expect that "30 days" is the magical cut off to when EVERYTHING will get brought over?Reality check, that won't happen. You won't see every single RBN song brought to PS3 AND WII (it's funny how many PS3 owners forget that part). HMX doesn't have the manpower/resources to make it happen. Heck, that's part of the reason they put the RBN out there in the first place...to ease the bottleneck that was slowing down certain songs/artists from getting in.That said, you will likely see the top selling songs...which makes sense. Since those songs will have proven to be popular and marketable enough for HMX to eat the costs assoicated with moving them over. Though there's still the question of any potential licensing or agreements that have to be made with those bands since their original submission was only RBN/XBN.
bigmf;3576801 said:That's a lovely little argument you had with yourself, but I didn't see anyone saying they expected all the songs to come over exactly 30 days later.
bigmf;3576801 said:the Wii is irrelevant to what a PS3 rockband player is hoping for
T-Hybrid;3577038 said:There's plenty of it floating around the forums. Mostly with the comment: "In 30 days ____ will be available" as if it's an assumption. Pay attention, it's there. The Wii is relevant when the discussion is frequenlty: "Why does HMX hate the PS3". As is often the case when the RBN comes up.
bigmf;3576801 said: The main discussion that was happening...was concern that the selections that PS3 users get will not be the ones that some individuals want. A further concern is that the selections will be based on sales. This could work out poorly for PS3 players since there is a recognizable difference in demographics between the two consoles' user bases.
The_Spleen;3577187 said:Thank you. I'm glad at least one person understood what I was attempting to get across.I wasn't trying to start a console/rage debate, I was just stating my fear given how usually a certain type of song seems to win the most sales, which I don't think should necessarily dictate the PS3 selection.
Der_Lex;3577294 said:I think this is a very fair concern and certainly one I have as well. Only porting the more famous/commercial bands over to other systems would be a bit beside the point of the whole concept, in my opinion (which is certainly influenced by the fact that I find most of the more obscure material a lot more interesting than bands like 3EB or Drowning Pool).Fortunately, as regular DLC weeks like this one show, it's not always purely commercialism that drives song selection at HMX, so hopefully the RBN ports to other systems will be equally balanced.

So, PS3 users, there is some pressure on you to step up and support the service once it comes over.
ethicalpaul;3577339 said:Yes PS3 people! You buy those songs whether you like them or not! Ingrates!!!
bigmf;3577347 said:But, but, I thought if we didn't like some DLC, it wasn't the end of the world because we don't have to buy it.
Der_Lex;3577356 said:You obviously aren't aware of the HMX DLC Enforcement street teams yet.Don't worry, HMXChuckles and HMXBruiser will be paying you a visit shortly to explain.
Death50;3578886 said:PS3 and Wii users (thought it would never happen) should just not buy any of there stuff until they get the same features.Watch how fast Sony will work things out and get RBN, I don't think Nintendo will care.
Death50;3578886 said:We all know realsticly (me too) as soon as a good song from RBN comes over it will be downloaded and will basicly say "we like be second class system owners."
