It's the month that were going to finally have some Muse!

I, of course, am going hysterical.
I'm with you on that. The day it comes out I'm gonna play it on bass, drums as well as sing and play guitar at the same time, pretending to be my favorite rock stars in all roles :D

For a minute there I forgot it was actually May now. (Standardized tests, never having to write the date down, etc.)
Oh, it seems so much closer now. Hysteria's less than a month away!

I suppose that makes Wii users redheaded stepchildren, but eh. They didn't have to import to get Rock Band earlier. (We actually got a 360 for Rock Band. It was expensive as all hell, but it now sees more play than all the other systems we have combined. In retrospect, a PS3 might have been a better investment, but the 360 was more immediate and we didn't have to use Stratocasters.)

Down Is The New Up sounds familiar, which is strange, because I don't really listen to Radiohead (yet, that is). Maybe because one of my friends constantly goes to the piano in the commons and plays Radiohead songs.

I guess I'm the only one who enjoys their use of feedback and the like. Maybe it's because I've been playing guitar for so long, but it just fascinates me. Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on some decent pickups and a few effects pedals so I can mess around with that stuff.
Some of it is very impressive. Fuzz Factory is on my list of things to get. Matt has a midi pickup in his guitar too, which feeds into the digitech whammy. So many different effects, pedals, amps, etc. Plus the Kaoss pad in his newer guitars.

EDIT: Matt can re-tune his guitar on the fly because his newest two guitars have a Tronical PowerTune Automatic Guitar Tuning System. It perfectly and automatically tunes the guitar in 1-2 seconds!

If you're going to buy one effects pedal, go with the Digitech Whammy. That thing is awesome. $250 isn't even that expensive when you look at the other stuff that's out there.

Another fun toy is the Boss micro BR. It's mainly a really tiny 4-channel mixing board but it's also got a buttload of digital effects, distortions, and amp simulations as well as a bunch of drum loops that are pretty convincing. Oh and it's got an Mp3 playback mode that lets you play back and slow down music files so you can learn to play them. Not bad for $230 I'd say.

Ok, forgive me for just now getting on the bandwagon. I've known of Muse since around the time Absolution came out. Didn't give them much of a thought. Then when Black Holes cames out I began hearing the singles and what not, not much thought again. Then about a few weeks ago I heard this song on the radio and thought "Wow, this song is great. Sounds like Muse" Found out it was Map of the Problematic. When I got back to my place, I downloaded Black Holes. Let me tell you. That is one of the best albums I have EVER heard and I've been around a while and have listened to alot of music (I'm 31 though look 25 and act like 12). I have subsequently have gotten all their official albums and each one is brilliant. Anyway, just wanted to post my thoughts and support Muse for DLC.

An interesting fact that I just discovered:

Matt Bellamy stated in an interview with Colin Murray that he believes Invincible is the "heart" of Black Holes and Revelations.

Perhaps the reason I love the song so much is because Matt really believes in it. I always said that I can really feel the emotion in the song, and now I know that he really does love to perform the song.

Ohhhh, that's just not fair for people like me who can't afford all this amazing equipment. :(

i wouldn't say its really bad news or good news.

the bad = its on GH3

the good = Muse is willing to give up more songs to these games.

i would be more pissed about it, but since 1 of the 3 in the pack is SBH, and u can't buy the songs individually, i'm not worried about it. definitely would love to play Stockholm tho...

oh, if Hysteria wasn't already confirmed to be on its way, i would be a lil more pissed.

a friend of mine just got GH3 this week cause it dropped in price. maybe i can convince him to buy this. i'm certainly not wasting anymore money on a game i never play anymore...

I just hope they didn't sign any type of exclusive DLC deal.

i wouldn't worry about that. i'm sure if they did, Activision would be letting everybody know about it.

this is probably just a response to RB puttin Hysteria in the game. they know Muse is wanted by the GH/RB fanbase, and they have the resources to make this happen.

seriously tho, HMX needs to load up their biggest guns ASAP.

I'm looking at it like this...they obviously have no objections to their songs being in the music games, so that's a plus. Also, look at how many songs/bands are on both games...there's quite a bit of back and forth going on, so maybe if we keep our fingers crossed we'll see them on RB too.

It does make me sad though to think of how overcharted they're going to be. If KoC was any indication, I'm expecting a lot of synth in Stockholm Syndrome to be included.

And I want to sing and play drums too. :(

Yeah, you guys are right. I guess I was just a bit overwhelmed. This is, well, almost a positive as it means, as stated before me, that Muse are willing to play ball for both teams.

I think that Activision has spies in this thread....

I see the side you guys are taking in saying that this doesn't mean we won't get any Muse for RB but I hate the fact that they are in such a terrible piece of garbage like GH3. ESPECIALLY because two of the songs are ones that were at the top of my list.

I don't care that it's Muse, I for one will NOT be buying this pack. I'm not giving Activision any more of my money. They're going to ruin the songs anyway.

I'll be picking up Exo-Politics at the very least, strictly to look at it from a technical standpoint. It's one of my favorite things to play on guitar, and it will be interesting to see just how over the top GH goes with their overcharting business.

It's a shame that they got Stockholm Syndrome though. On the plus side though, GH got Peace of Mind from Boston, then RB released it in the six pack...so let's hope something similar happens here.

can't get songs individually in GH, sorry bud. thats the main reason i'm not buying it. i would love to play Stockholm Syndrome, but i dont feel like payin 6.25 for it on a game i almost never play.

My love of Muse > my hate of Guitar Hero.

But hey. It's Muse on fake plastic guitars. I'd rather have Muse on fake plastic drums, but I can wait a little longer for that and this will hold me over.

God no.... now I really have to get GH3 too ...? Don't want it.... damn... hopefully HMX announces a Muse pack too next week or so. :p

Why is Guitar Hero always getting the better songs? Something goes definitely wrong here. Hello HMX!!!

    I forgot about that... *sigh*

Freaking Activision. HMX had better come up with a way to triumph over them. And when I say triumph, I mean triumph...something that will crush them, and they can stand over them, blood-stained and drinking from a chalice of victory.

The 64-pack ought to be sufficient at that. :D

New Born, Citizen Erased, and Plug In Baby would OWN that GH3 pack. u could replace any of those with Stockholm and it would still be major pwnage.

I've had a little time to think about this (like 20 mins) and my opinion of this injustice is still the same but my reasoning has changed.

At first, my hatred for what Activision has done with what used to be my favorite video game series overshadowed any need I had to play those songs. Now, after thinking about it, I've come to the conclusion that playing these songs in GH3 would actually ruin them for me.

The GH/RB thing has really changed the way I experience some songs. Even songs that I had known before now conjure images of fake crowds and green, red, yellow, blue, and orange lights. If I were to play songs like SS and Exo-Politics in GH3, with it's atrocious animation, crappy sound, and horrible mapping, I think it would actually extinguish my love for these three songs.

Well, the didn't land any of my top 5 Muse Songs (and I don't ever really like SBH all that much anyhow), so I'm not particularly angry about it.

If they had gotten Plug in Baby or Invincible I would be gearing up to start a riot.
