edited June 2009 in Your Ultimate Setlist
As much as I simply adore playing Rock Band, I am still curious as to if some of my favorites could get some screen time and playability on the game. Here's what I've come up with:

Rammstein - Mutter
1. Mein Herz brennt (My heart burns)
2. Links 2 3 4 (Left 2 3 4)
3. Sonne (Sun)
4. Ich will (I want)
5. Feuer frei! (Fire at will! or Open fire!)
6. Mutter (Mother)
7. Spieluhr (Music-box)
8. Zwitter (Hermaphrodite)
9. Rein raus (In out)
10. Adi

Thanks for the opinion, but assuming you were born in 1990 (just looking at your username), most of this stuff isn't from your generation. So, the thought is appreciated, but irrelevant.

I'd like to see alot of these songs, if not just the artists on the game. I highly doubt they'd put in any Rammstein however, seeing as how it's in German and I don't think alot of people want to sing in German. I'd personally love to have all of Rammstein's music on here because I've been listening to it for years and know how to pronounce and time almost all of the lyrics to the majority of their songs.

I'd like to see some AC/DC and Jimi Hendrix as well. More Bang Camaro is also a huge plus. I'd like to see some Stevie Ray Vaughan as well. Maybe a few Slipknot. But older classic rock or older metal bands would be a huge plus! :D

I'd rather see something like "Charmless Man", "Country House", "I'm Just A Killer For Your Love", "Girls & Boys", "Bank Holiday", or "Coffe & TV" over "Song 2" if you're looking at Blur.

Hehe, I knew prior to writing the list, that Rammstein was going to be about as applicable as Polka. :D But, it doesn't hurt to try, right? Plus, they seriously do have one of the most addictive sounds in my opinion.

I have to be honest, I don't know much about Blur as a band. And, the only reason I even knew of Song #2, is from the movie Super Troopers. I know, I've let you down with that one. :(

I'll work on my knowledge of the group, though. ;)

To judge someone's musical taste by their age and saying it's not their 'generation' just seems idiotic. And with that being said, I'm up for a majority you put up there, Rammstein being the biggest. But, as someone said before, I'm sure people don't want to sing in German.

You're wrong. I hate to put it so bluntly, but there's no other way to say it.

Take, for instance, your grand parents. I can assure you, the music you like listening to, isn't their "cup of tea". I can make a guess as to what they enjoyed as kids (The Mills Brothers, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, etc...), is not something you listen to all that often. Sure, it's normal for people to enjoy music from different era's, but it's not something they adhere to commonly.

So, although people may admire music from different era's, it is by no means a reason to call it an open-generation field. Saying that there's no generation gap, seems extremely obtuse and inaccurate.

I think you are my favorite poster right now. I would buy more than half of the songs on that list, prolly close to 3/4s. I would only add a few things: Marilyn Manson's "Great Big White World" off of Mechanical Animals, "In This Home on Ice" by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and anything by Bob Marley or the Flaming Lips. Maybe "Is This Love" by Marley and "Mr. Ambulence Driver" by the Flaming Lips, but I've had trouble deciding which songs by those artists I would pick for RB.

Not a bad selection, to be honest. My only beef is with Bob Marley. I just don't see Reggae as a genre applicable to Rock Band. Good stuff, though. ;)

CAKE, Modest Mouse, 311, The Bravery, Rammstein, Audioslave, Bloc Party -- hell, I don't know why I'm wasting time re-listing them, as they're all great choices! Like many have already said, I'd love to see over 3/4 of it (but I'd still buy 4/4)! :D

    Ya but...

Rockband is (and has stated itself as) a game that is focused primarily on the old 4-man-band setup. Obviously they make exceptions for great classics, but it requires them to go out of their way and sacrifice a big part of the game.

So much of what you have suggested - reguardless of how awesome the songs are - do not match up.

A lot of the songs I see posted on this forum are too dependant on mixers, keyboards, and other synthesized audio. People don't want to get on Rockband and hear the music -- they want to PLAY it. At least you didn't put Linkin Park/Fort Minor on there ROFL.

Nobody wants to sing German dude. Another good 30% of these songs have so much language in them that even an Radio-version would be too extreme and sound too stupid - you want the Vocal Track to look like "Y'all want a single say that that that." It makes no sense.

You have a ton of songs on here with single artists who are amazing but rely on that one artists for all the thrill, leaving either the other parts of the band stuck playing lame background music.

I like your list more as a general bad-ass set of songs moreso than an actual Rockband list =)

Although I agree that some of the bands I listed are more than 4 members, you've seemed to overlook how many of the situations you mentioned were already prevelent in Rock Band.

Bang Camaro - 4 guitarists, 1 drummer, and like 10 vocalists.
    Coheed & Cambria - 3 guitarists
Freezepop - Do I even need to mention the issues there? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freezepop

Really your argument doesn't really hold much water, as there's already plenty of examples of artists/groups that don't qualify for your standards, that are already on Rock Band. It's not to say that I don't see your point, it's just that I don't agree with it. :)

Wholeheartedly support the Rammstein movement! Why alienate our fellow rockers overseas with exclusively English songs? Plus it'd be great novelty States-side!

    Also, good Bravery rec's too!

Not to mention that bringing in bands from other countries will give people a chance to learn new languages, and/or bring in more foreign revenue. ;)

I love AC/DC and Hendrix but Thunderstruck would just be boring on RB, and I would love to see Hendrix, but I doubt he will be on RB, remember Spanish Castle Magic on GH? they wouldnt let them cover the vocals, and they arent gonna give up the masters : (

Yeah, I know all about the history there. But, that's why this is a recommendation list, not a list of what will be in RB. ;)

Anyone suggesting Shiny Toy Guns is ok in my book! But leaving The Cure out is blasphemous ;). Other than that, I'd like to see a lot of these artists represented in game, whether with the particular songs you've selected or not.
