Don't normally do this, but -- requesting help with tunage

Hey guys,

I don't think I've ever asked the forum to do this for me, but you guys are a pretty responsive and awesome bunch, so here I am.

With RB3 looming a few months away, I've become greatly aware of the fact that, well, my DLC has slacked significantly the last few months. I think I've purchased maybe 6-8 songs since the Queen pack. Not good!

So I'm asking for your help! Yes, you folks who are so wonderful with expressing your opinions.

Before I go any further -- I am not a metal fan -- at least the really hardcore stuff. I'm really not looking for anything dark and horrifying, or something that might scare the neighbor's kid. So please, avoid recommending stuff like Evile, or any band that has connotations of death in the actual band name. Not to be disrespectful, I just want it to be made absolutely clear! Thanks :)

So, what I ask is that, if you can, please provide me with a list of 10-20 RBN songs that you just think are the bee's knees... being mindful of the no-metal stipulation. I'm just trying to catch up a bit here.

Also, if you want to throw out some regular DLC suggestions, feel free. I'm looking through those as well (suggestions from all manner of DLC, not just post-Queen pack).

Thanks guys.

Edit: Guitarist here! Forgot to mention that

my non-metal favorites (though keep in mind i'm primarily a drummer)

junius - elisheva, i love you
scale the summit - the great plains
band of horses - the funeral
third eye blind - never let you go
marillion - whatever is wrong with you?
    the slip - even rats
bang camaro - push push (lady lightning)
the main drag - how we'd look on paper

Both Clutch songs are necessary. Some of the funnest drum tracks I have. You should also check out Complexity Of Light by Children Of Nova, Destructive Device by MindFlow (it's a metal song, but it's not really extreme like Evile, and it's listed under prog) and Whatever Is Wrong With You by Marillion. These are some of my personal favorites from RBN.

Although I need to get all of the 3EB songs before I can judge the rest

3 inches Of Blood is a blast, but it is metal so I don't know

Aha -- I should have stipulated I'm primarily a guitarist. That's my fault. Thanks for the suggestions, though, and I'll check them all out :)

Don't worry, Clutch and Children Of Nova have awesome guitar/bass tracks too.

Speaking of which, can anyone out there get the guitar chart of Whatever Is Wrong With You onto youtube? I keep checking and all I keep finding is the drum chart.

Try Kristin Hersh, The Hold Steady, Apples in Stereo, Tijuana Sweetheart. Oh, and maybe James William Roy.

    (Shameless, I know.)
