Everyone, try and e-mail bands about RBN! Yet Another Reboot

Well, since people have forgotten that the other 2 threads are abandoned, let's retry this one last time.

NOTE: PAGE 1 IS FOR BANDS. DUE TO THE LARGE SIZE OF THE ORIGINAL TWO POSTS, SOLO ARTISTS AND LABELS ARE ON PAGE 3.

PLEASE stop saying "someone message *random band/person*" Just do it yourself. Go to their website and find their email address and message them! Thank you!

PLEASE READ: Just because a band is contacted dosn't mean you shouldn't message them. The more messages they get the more they notice that their fans want them in, BUT that dosn't mean you should contact the same band more then once, but please don't announce that you annouced that band if it's already on the list! Thank you!

Here are some mistakes I've found in the list. Mostly songs that have come out or been announced since the old list was last updated. Also a few that were announced once but may have since disappeared (which I think should be yellow).

Alchemilla - Should be cyan
Alias Unknown - Should be cyan
All Time Low - Should be cyan

Circa Survive - Should be green or yellow (I remember seeing an announcement at one point, but I don't know if the songs are still going through the process or have gone MIA)
Cynic - Should be yellow (there's a thread with the subject "Cynic" right now saying that they've responded to someone and are interested)
Dance Gavin Dance - Should be cyan
DnA's Evolution - Should be cyan

Actually, I have one more thing to say on the matter. When I contacted Crush 40, they stated it was a back-burner project for the moment. The more support for the project, the more likely they will start working with Ozone again to bring the tracks to the RBN. martin@junsenoue.com Help build support by emailing about the RBN(no need to describe it however, they already know) and hopefully they'll realize that the market is too large to be a back-burner project

Intitial response from Metallica

Hi,
If you'd like to play more Metallica songs on video game, we sell the Guitar Hero: Metallica, which has many more songs. It is available for XBox, Playstation, and Wii. Please check our store for more information.
I responded by saying that new copies of GH:Metallica don't sell well anymore, the Rock Band community has been vocal about Metallica, and that Rock Band 3 will allow players to learn while playing real instruments. Hopefully soon I'll get an actual answer

The Most Serene Republic
The Polyphonic Spree
Math and Physics Club
Pompeii

DFA Records

Anamanaguchi should be yellow; we discussed it but they seemed like they were going with another team. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin should also be yellow, that project seems to be stalled at the moment.

There is a band that's probably going to wind up green but I can't name them yet.

The New Pornographers should be cyan, Crash Years is out already.

They did some music in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games, the most notable being Time to forget for Call of Pripyat ending (the ukrainian version sounds awesome) . Note that they have MP3s to download on their site

Besides, who wouldn't want to sing ukrainiann and decipher cyrillic? ;)
I got a response from them, they're INTERESTED ! yay ! :D
I asked if I could post their full answer, but the short version is that they're going to look into it.

Hey, got a bunch of stuff you can add.

1. A City Serene will be coming to the RBN, a song by them is up in playtesting now.

2. You can change I Am Abomination to green. I'm authoring a song for them and it should be up into playtesting within the next month or 2 (were still waiting on some stems and possibly info from RB3). I will also be releasing a song by another artist from the same label, Good Fight Music, and hopefully more in the future if all goes well, so add them in green under the labels section.

3. Add the artist Dan Johansen in green. I'll be releasing a song by him (same as above, waiting for stuff), it will be a shredtastic song written specifically for the RBN!

4. At the RBN Creators Forums there is a guy claiming he has a direct relationship with Matchbook Romance, and that him, the band, and the record company all want to go forward with the RBN and are looking for authors. So add them in yellow for now.

5. I was in talks with Minus The Bear a while ago, the talks have currently ended due to some developments that I cannot publicly say. But know they definitely are interested and it is likely we will see some Minus The bear in the future. so add them in yellow.

Sigh, I sent another email to Metallica

I tried to ask about the band's interest in the Rock Band Network in a previous email, but was told to simply buy Guitar Hero Metallica. However, only half of the set is Metallica, and the game cannot be exported to other titles. In addition to this, the game rarely sells new copies due to the abundance of cheap used copies, as well as the fact that it runs on an outdated engine, and has been followed by several other Guitar Heroes. Also, many fans, myself included, have moved to Rock Band, feeling that Harmonix takes more care in their games and delivers the best products. Those fans would be gladly willing to pay for the songs off the game again, as well as those who have never played it. Metallica is still one of the most requested bands in the Rock Band library, and their only pack of DLC still ranks as the most downloaded pack. In addition, with the upcoming release of Rock Band 3, players will be able to use real guitars to actually learn how to play the songs. Please don't tell me just to get Guitar Hero Metallica again, just tell me if this is something the band would be intrested. There would be nothing to lose by widening their audiance to a much larger community. If they need any more information about the RBN, I will be happy to provide it.
And all they reply with

Thank you for your email. We're sorry we can't help you with that.

To a lot of groups, we don't carry much more clout than a fan. I'm sure some bands just see us as salesmen, not people who actually care about getting their music out there. But, so it goes.

With all the info HMX has given about RB3 but still not given much info about how the RBN will play into it it's kinda an awkward time for the RBN.

Nevermind, he just told me that they don't give out contact info to anyone, and that they are merely customer service for the band. He said to submit an article to some magazine that the band reads, but to do that you'd have to be a member of the fan club,:( sigh

Could be, could be...

Anywho (excuse my crappy transition lol), I'm gonna wait to contact them, and anyone else for that matter until more news of the RBN on RB3 is released. With all the info HMX has given about RB3 but still not given much info about how the RBN will play into it it's kinda an awkward time for the RBN.
Sounds great to me, they're a great band that fits (if it is This or The Apocalypse) RB just like I Am Abomination, especially with the guitar/drums.

And sounds good with all of the new updates and the PRO instruments it's probably best to wait. I hope tFacedown will come to RB they have a bunch of popular artists that are just getting bigger. For Today is releasing a new CD on August 31st, it'd be awesome to see some of their music in RB.

I'm getting paperwork filled out now on some bands I'll be working with for Rock Band Network. I've been in contact with a LOT of bands(both established and undiscovered(but awesome nonetheless) ), and once I know who is onboard and who isn't, I'll post a big update to this thread so people know which bands are against the idea.

I can already tell you the Scorpions want nothing to do with Rock Band Network.
