Saint Simon! No way! Totally stoked. Best Shins song ever.

edit - although, being greedy now, wish it could have harmonies in RBN 2.0. But I'll take it, dammit!

Might want an indication like an asterisk or something for the tracks that have made their way to PS3

That should be what the + marks after each song are for. Are they showing up for you all right?

    Shiny new thread!

Out of curiosity, is RockGamer keeping in the spoken outro to "Army Of The Damned" by Pythia or did it have to be cut (due to legal reasons, licensing, etc.)?

The spoken-word outro was not present in the stems we had received for the song. The total running time of the song in-game is 3 minutes and 39 seconds, with the final piece being Emily's soloed "and love her once more" line.

Thanks for the info. At least you guys don't have to worry about what to do with the outro (although it would've added a layer of coolness to have Brian Blessed's booming voice in the game). :D:p

Are you guys gonna work to get more of Pythia's songs? Their album, Beneath The Veiled Embrace, is pretty kick ass.

We've promoted a few more songs to the Peer Review phase today. Amberian Dawn's "Lionheart" joins "Evil Inside Me" and "Kokko - Eagle of Fire" as part of the next batch of contenders for release. Free Spirit's "Pale Sister of Light" is the title track off the 2009 album of the same name, of which two other songs have already been released in the store. And the poppy "999,999 Girls!" by Kiss the Girl is ready for your votes, as well.

A few new updates for Thursday, July 29th:

    - "New Revolution" by hot, up-and-coming LA-based band The Waking Hours has made its debut in playtesting! Taken from their six-song EP "How Does it Feel", this song has made appearances in popular shows such as "The Ghost Whisperer" and "Bad Girls Club", and will have you rocking out to its power pop beats in no time flat!

    - Another pair of Amberian Dawn songs have made their way to peer review today. Look for "Lullaby" and "Fate of the Maiden", both from the band's debut album "River of Tuoni", to be making their way to the Marketplace soon!

    - Also brand new to peer review today is "Heart of Lilith 2010" by Inkubus Sukkubus! If you enjoyed the uptempo goth rock workout of "Wytches 2010", you'll be sure to love this one as well!

Just listened to Kokko, really digging that one.

Is Amberian Dawn still planning to record a song specifically for the RBN? If so, how's it coming along? :)

Oh, just noticed a small problem, for the youtube page, you have your facebook linked again. Just a heads up.

    BIG BIG BIG news today.

We have five brand new releases in the Rock Band Network Store on Xbox 360 today. For those of you keeping track, that puts us at 87 songs for sale. EIGHTY-SEVEN. That's three more than shipped on-disc for RB2! Huge milestone for us. Hopefully now I can get some vacation time. ;)

The brand new releases today include FOUR tracks from power-pop favorites We the Kings. Their songs up for download include "Anna Maria (All We Need)", "Rain Falls Down", "Spin", and "What You Do To Me", all from their new album "Smile Kid" and at a 160 MSP price point.

We also have the RBN debut of Hugh Cornwell, the frontman for legendary punk group The Stranglers, who reconnects with his rock 'n' roll roots on "Wrong Side of the Tracks". The song is taken from his album "Hoover Dam" and is available for 160 MSP.

On top of that, three more RGS-authored tracks will be available to PS3 owners starting next Tuesday. Love indie rock? Grab "Is There a Ghost" by Band of Horses. Post-hardcore fan? "Heads or Tails? Real or Not" by Emarosa has you covered. Want to shred some metal? Check "Elements" by Texas In July!

We unofficially announced yesterday that we're bringing even more power metal to the Rock Band Network, with the upcoming release of Peruvian group Nautiluz and their title track from their 2010 album, "Chasing the Light".

Honestly, at this point, all I can say is... if you're the kind of person that digs stuff like Dragonforce, you will eat this up. Click on the link above and check out the song in its entirety. We will have a preview video up early next week that will show off some of the charts. And as a personal note to any bassists... I hope your altstrumming endurance is high. Over a half-million points are possible on bass alone. Crazy!

Sorry, that will be corrected post-haste. It's currently between rounds, and I'm guessing will probably stay that way until the crunch period at HMX ends (I'm sure Helen is busy as the proverbial bee right now!).

Here's a preview of the Nautiluz track, which should hopefully be hitting playtesting shortly. Unlike most of our other preview videos, this has clips of four distinct sections from the song (a single section just simply wouldn't do it justice!). Be sure to let us know what you think!
