The Jamey Johnson song sounds like the Classic country most people around here request. I would check it out.

I might be biased because I'm a fan of Reba, but I think guitarists should check out her song.

Her backing band is really good, and the guitar part to "Fancy" should be pretty fun.
I imagine the guitar track to What Was I Thinkin' will be fun, but I am biased on that song. :)

Not a big country fan so it's a pass for me. What will probably happen is what happened in the past. A friend of mine got the country track pack for her husband and gave me the code. So I will eventually get them just not this week. But good for the country fans. I am always happy that HMX expands their range of artists.

nothing for me. i listen to an above average amount of country, but none of this.
Same. Although, I think if I get "Fancy", I might actually be able to get my grandmother to play for the first time.

wow i was so so SO excited for more country but these song choices are very disappointing ... no classic country at all?!?! seriously you couldnt throw us one classic country song in nine picks? might get a couple based on charts but this is a huge let down

This country severely lacks some "alt-". Pass.

I'm jealous country gets it's third large pack of mixed artists. Why can't this happen for indie rock?
As much as I love indie rock, it won't ever happen for the genre because not enough people are asking for it. The country tracks have sold really well, hence why there is more on the way.

Yeah. I want some Whiskeytown, non-live Old 97's, Damnwells and Conor Oberst (in some fashion). And, Dwight Yoakam.

I really like country about as much as I like visits to the dentist's office. There are only a couple of artists where if they are on the list I would be interested. (I bought Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler" and Willie Nelson's "On The Road Again"). So if it's some of the classic, older country like Johnny Cash, then yeah, I'd make some purchases. But this stuff? Nope. Thankfully, it means that we got this out of the way.

If you like country, this week is great. If you don't like country, you get nothing this week. :( I only wish we could see "Hair Metal Track Pack 01" before "Country Track Pack 05". I highly doubt that will happen though. :( :( :( :( :( :(

This is exciting! It seems as though people have mellowed out on the complaining about their favorite band not being on the DLC each week and have accepted each pack as either something they will or won't buy. Respect is so much better than complaining. That being said, I'm probably not gonna buy anything from this pack unless I find there is a surprise in there like the Dixie Chicks 'Sin Wagon'. Sin Wagon's guitar part may be my second favorite to play in all of rock band behind Rude Mood by Stevie Ray Vaughn. Oh well, I'm sure next week will once again provide a non-country pack.

OH YEAH! Best DLC in a while, but really just for Fancy. I might have to break my microphone out of storage. It's my one chance, I won't let you down.

Also, sugarland. I can leave the rest.

I can go for Ska and Hair Metal 10 packs of mixed artists...those would be awesome!

    Make it happen HMX!

I'll only take more Old 97's if they get a little more selective with their track picks. That version of Timebomb they gave us was dreadful. Agree with you on everything else though.

That said, I'm buying the whole pack. Gotta support the country.

I don't know who Laura Bell Bundy is, and I'm not a big fan of Lady Antebellum, but some of the others are great or at least servicable. Jamey Johnson has a good voice and is starting to make waves in the alt- scene.

I love the Dierks Bentley song, and listening to it on the way to work today, there's a banjo solo at the end that, if they chart it to guitar, will be shredtastic.

I think that the "classic" country people want will be on the upcoming disc like Willie was on the last disc. What a better way to get people to plunk down money (and re-buy a lot of tracks) then to put something like Waylon Jennings - Good Old Boys (Dukes Of Hazzard Theme) on there?

Alright, I've been itching for some more country. Nothing really sticks out here though, I'll admit I was hoping for some Gary Allan or more Alan Jackson to show up, but no luck.

    Good God.
I usually try to avoid making negative / whiny posts, but... wow. I was looking forward to this announcement all week, knowing that anything had to be better than another Disturbed pack.

    I was sorely mistaken.
Is there some sort of "terrible-DLC" inside joke that's going on at HMX HQ, or...?

Ok, all jokes aside, this is better than another Disturbed pack. At least I'm able to cherrypick a few good songs out of this bunch.

I'll be picking up the pack, as I like Country and had a blast with the other Country songs.

The thing that confuses me, is how is "Fancy" a family friendly song. I love the song, I'm just not sure the lyrics and message of the song are family friendly. Just my $.02.

Congrats to all the country fans, but the severe shortage of Country songs pre-1999 in the game is very disheartening. I was looking forward to today thinking I'd see a bunch of pre-1999 songs. Hopefully the CTP2 will take care of this.

    BTW, "Fancy" FTW. GO REBA!

Hmm. Isn't there another Country track pack headed our way soon? Colour me paranoid, but I'll wait on picking up these songs until I see that they aren't going to be on disc.

If I could get a better price *and* some timed exclusives by picking up the track pack I'll definitely do that instead.

Still, Country songs make me happy, so I'm glad to see more of them! :)

HA! That's a good point. I didn't even think of that when I saw it in the announcement.

I know the song, I know the lyrics, I didn't notice that it was "family friendly".
