I bought a box of Bazooka Joe bubble gum today and I am very, very, very happy to report that although they have revamped Bazooka Joe's group of friends to be a bit more modern it hasn't lost a few key elements. Namely? It still has comics with little fortunes on them. Beyond that the fortunes are still borderline insane (example- "It's a dog-eat-dog world, unless you find something better to eat"...what?) and the comics very rarely have anything approaching a real punchline. It is great. If I had the time I would totally film a documentary about the person who writes and draws these comics. It essentially follows one formula-

Frame 1: Somebody asks Bazooka Joe (how old is he? why does he have an eyepatch?) some random question no person would ever ask another person and Bazooka Joe answers vaguely.

Frame 2: Closeup on person who asked the question and they are all like "What could he possibly mean?" or "Are you talking about your dog?"

Frame 3: The dog is saying something almost wholly unrelated to what is going on in frames 1 and 2. Either that or a closeup of Bazooka Joe saying something really insanely obvious.

I want to wallpaper my new office with Bazooka Joe comics. In no way am I kidding about that.

BLOGS! Today we only have 1. But it is from Leo so it is worth at least two. His specialty is making cheaper versions of things that already exist so you can have finer luxuries such as couches or Halloween when you are broke. Today he tackles "sauce."

Great, the daily blog, I've been waiting for this. That marinades sounds good, similar to something my dad often does on his steaks, I might try to do something like it next time I BBQ.

I'll be looking forward to seeing how the new place looks.

I love Bazooka Joe, I haven't had it in forever though, I find that the gum is not half as good as the comics it is wrapped in though.

yep. that they find enjoyment in the little things in life. and very possibly that if you follow the instructions, when the marinade is complete the crushed red pepper will float to the top and spell a special code to input at the menu screen for "big heads".

That and if you read the right Bazooka Joe comics in a certain order, highlighting every 3rd and 5th word they tell you 6 new songs that are in Rock Band ;)

Need to see this. It fascinates me. This morning I was coming up with all sorts of back stories about how he lost an eye and got the name "Bazooka."

Not unlike my next job, I'm going to be the guy who names porn magazines and movies.

Ooh nice I was looking on the Food Network website but could not find when it would next be airing, I'm definately watching it, I really want to see who these guys are.

If you can't wait for the show, check out http://www.bazookajoe.com/ It even teaches you how to do the Bazooka Joe official dance called the "The Bazooka Zooka Dance"..."Here's tha guys with tha moves to help you get the bazooka groove" You can even submit videos of yourself dancing, and they may put them up on the website!

I'm glad to be of service. BTW to those who don't know the show is hosted and narrated by Mark Summers who is the original host of double dare and "what would you do?". Honestly though I hate the way he narrates. It's just blatant that he's following a timing sheet with every shot.
