On a side note, Casto, think you could do a few things?
1) Post "Out of XXXX" so we can compare/track how many entries are available.
2) Put up numbers for the 3 weeks prior of DLC as well so we can see week 2-4 performance?

I can definitely do #1. As for #2, I prob won't do because I have the majority of this process automated and it only takes me a minute or so of actual interaction. Getting that info would take searching the list many times for all the song names. I wish the post limit was larger so i could just post the entire list every week.

The reason for the people that say We Didn't Start the Fire is their favorite Joel song is that they have only heard that and Piano Man, or because of nostalgic reasons.

It's popular modern music, and fun at parties, particularly for vocalists. Plus, the simple charts help for other instruments at parties.

Sadly, the Cartman version of Poker Face was doing better than any of the singles/pack for a while.

Also, what happened to Noble/ThatAuthoringGroup? Wasn't he supposed to pick this back up at some point?
I had to drop out of keeping up with this thread. The demands of the authoring group and testing for creators is taking up pretty much all my free time now.

I wouldn't call Skynyrd's performance "badly" by any stretch. A +8 next to that pack means that it's the third fastest rocket on the charts behind Billy Joel and Queen --- pretty damn impressive.

Billy's second pack comes out in April, according to the original press release announcing that he was coming to Rock Band. There's a "Piano Challenge" pack due in April, although it's unclear if that is entirely Billy or will just include a song by him. I personally think it's going to be all Billy, but wouldn't complain if they'd like to make a Billy/Elton combined 12 pack.

I look at it this way: Skynyrd's been a part of RB (and GH) for years now. Billy Joel is brand new to music gaming, and that's a huuuuge artist to make a debut. I'd be even more surprised (and disillusioned) if Joel *wasn't* doing as well as expected.

Kids Don't Follow is a great song! Thats' even sadder than Mission of Burma's place in last on the old list (I guess the RB3 goal for that DLC pack increased it sales in this new list?)

I would kill for more of The Replacements, both from their alternative "Alex Chilton" era, but even more so from their hardcore punk "Kids Don't Follow" era. Go out and buy it, people!

This is just a reminder that the top and bottom 25 lists on the first two posts of this thread were the best and worst selling DLC on 11/1/10. The current All Time Top and Bottom sellers are here.

Apparently I have too much time on my hands. Anyway, I went back to the old Top 25 Xbox Live downloads of all time thread and looked at the original top and bottom selling lists from 12/22/08. Then I found all of those songs' ranks today.

Top 25 as of 12/22/08

1/1/11	12/22/08	Song
1 1 \"Still Alive\"
2 2 \"Promised Land\"
5 3 \"All the Small Things\"
6 4 \"Move Along\"
7 5 \"Dirty Little Secret\"
9 6 \"Buddy Holly\"
3 7 \"Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)\"
11 8 Metallica Pack 01
8 9 \"The Kill\"
13 10 \"Juke Box Hero\"*
17 11 \"Fortunate Son\"*
18 12 \"Interstate Love Song\"
23 13 \"My Sharona\"*
15 14 \"Crushcrushcrush\"
10 15 \"B.Y.O.B.\"
24 16 \"Gimme Three Steps\"
20 17 \"Snow ((Hey Oh))\"

29 21 \"Attack\"
31 22 \"Joker & The Thief\"
22 23 \"Afterlife\"
30 24 \"Roxanne\"
28 25 \"This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race\"

Some reshuffling, but they've all stayed close to the top.

Bottom 25 as of 12/29/08 (Rankings as of 1/1/11 are out of 1409 total)

These are pretty scattered, with most songs staying within the range 1000-1300. The two songs with better current rankings were both released in December 2008 and were a little slow to start moving up.

Surprised to see Jimmy Eat World up there. For an emo band of the early 00's they have a bigger following then I expect. Then again Bleed American was a pretty popular album at the time.
