Welcome to the thread where all of your worries will be cast aside. All of your troubles and problems fade away. This is the announcement thread for Kario Charts.

Let me start off by making something very clear. I am not going to announce a thing until I have a contract signed and in my hand. As much as I'd like to devulge who I'm "in talks" with, it's better for everyone if I stay careful through all of this.

All of the following songs have been announced and will be coming to the Rock Band Network:

Ronald Jenkees - Throwing Fire
Ronald Jenkees - Stay Crunchy

Antoine Dodson & The Gregory Brothers - Bed Intruder Song (feat. Kelly Dodson)
The Gregory Brothers - Double Rainbow

Erik Mongrain - AirTap!
Erik Mongrain - Percusienfa
Erik Mongrain - Fusions
Erik Mongrain - Fates
Erik Mongrain - A Ripple Effect
Erik Mongrain - Equilibrium
Erik Mongrain - Raindigger

Morbicae - Shoop da Whoop

Anarchy Club - Riddle Me This
Anarchy Club - Rise and Shine
Anarchy Club - Behind the Mask
Anarchy Club - Collide

Rob Patterson and Snoop Dogg - Winning! (feat. Charlie Sheen)

Rappy McRapperson - I'm a Gangster

Yeah I hadn't thought of those. Considering the way it's used I don't think it should be a problem.

Should be fine as along as the song isn't advocating it or describing the situation. Gimme Shelter is against rape and murder and Run to the Hills is more historical context but also decidedly against much like Casey Jones with the reference to cocaine.

Let's not forget "raping all around me" in PDA by Interpol.

You Oughta Know by now that there are some questionable lyrics. Look on the RB3 disc, Portions for Foxes

On that note, how will "that is the baddest f*ck*ng rainbow I've ever seen" be handled at the end of Double Rainbow? Will the bleep be left in or will the Gregory Brothers have to make a new RBN mix? If it's the latter, that would be amazing. ^_^

They aren't going to do any special mix for Rock Band. The word f*cking will just be edited out completely.

Going by RBN standards - it'll have to be edited out, I believe. As a fan of the song I was disappointed (but I understood) when "raped" was removed from the pre-chorus of "Fake It" by Seether. There's at least one precedent on RBN, which, as we know, has different standards than DLC put out by Harmonix.

I'll fight it to the depths of hell. It would be a crime to censor it.

Also, that's not a good example of an RBN song having different standards than Harmonix DLC. In that instance, the lyrics are "I feel so raped" which is worse contextually than the times it's been left in by Harmonix.

Also, the author can censor whatever they feel like, whether that issue would have prevented submission is a different story

As much as I'd like to devulge who I'm "in talks" with, it's better for everyone if I stay careful through all of this. Now that I have that out of the way, I am announcing two artists today.

First off, Ronald Jenkees. RJ has decided to continue working with me after the success of Guitar Sound. Specifically, the next song that will be charted and released is Throwing Fire. Throwing Fire is on the album "Disorganized Fun," the same album that contains Guitar Sound. We are going to be waiting for keyboard charting to become available, so look for this in early 2011.

    Ronald Jenkees - Throwing Fire

Secondly, an artist completely new to the Rock Band Network, THE GREGORY BROTHERS! To be more specific, those people that do the AutoTune the News bits on YouTube. We will be bringing Bed Intruder and Double Rainbow to the RBN! We've decided to wait for keyboard charting for these songs as well, so look for these songs in early 2011.

Antoine Dodson & The Gregory Brothers - Bed Intruder Song (feat. Kelly Dodson)

The Gregory Brothers - Double Rainbow

As I said, I'm not going to tell you who else I've been in contact with. Rest assured, more will be announced in the future. I'm in the process of building my website and getting it put up. When it's up the link will be posted here. In the mean time, you can listen to these songs on repeat in anticipation.

    This is win

The word "rapin'" was left intact in "Dead" by Pixies, so you should be fine.

Words cannot express how cool this is. Just a couple of weeks ago I was thinking about how hilariously awesome it would be for Bed Intruder Song to be in the game, and you've negotiated both that AND Double Rainbow? Kudos. Seriously.

More Jenkees is always great, too. Dude's phenomenal.

Oh, another quick question I had. As far as Bed Intruder is concerned, will you be charting the iTunes version (the full, 3 minute version) or the shorter version they first did?

It was mentioned in a previous thread that the iTunes version is the "official" version, so that would be the one that'd get used.

I like the way you've made a splash instantly by getting the rights to songs everyone knows. Keep it up, dude.

Oh I'll try to. Just to generate hype without giving anything away:

One song I'm currently working on getting would be instantly recognized by millions, although the song itself isn't popular.

A band I've been in talks with is currently on tour and working on a Live DVD. They've already said they are going to work with me, but the contract itself won't be finalized until after their tour, so look for an announcement about this in early 2011.

Not sure what the other one could be but i would guess this one is Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley

The fact that you have successfully gotten a few memes would lead me to believe this. Also who actually listens to the song out side of Rick Rolls

I'm pretty sure that the reason that song was originally used for that purpose is because it was a massively popular hit which reached the top of many charts. That's basically the definition of popular, even if most people nowadays would consider it cheesy and dated.

As much as I would adore to play Never Gonna Give You Up in Rock Band, I doubt that song will ever see the light of day.

I don't doubt it will be on Rock Band someday. The likelihood of it coming out on the RBN is very slim though since the song was released under RCA.

    Damn, that sucks.

I remember way back when, I think it was TheRollingBones who was making his RB3 prediction setlist, and he had Never Gonna Give You Up as a mystery song, which was unlocked when you played shuffle for the first time, and you unlocked an achievement/trophy for it.

Would've been a fantastic use of the license to use the song, haha.

I thought HMX finally resolved with RCA, or was it Warner Music Group they had issues with?

There were issues with Warner but those were put to rest back in like May of 2009.

I say that the song is unlikely because bigger labels don't seem all that keen on RBN still. EMI is the biggest label that has really been involved and their involvement has been extremely half-hearted and spread out.

Double Rainbow and Bed Intruder Song are gonna be amazing additions to RB

I assume harmonies will also be charted?

I thought the Bed Intruder song would be off limits, but you got it, so I might as well suggest a similar song that would be pretty great for RBN 2.0 with keyboards:

A Glorious Dawn (Symphony of Science)

I will contact them and see what happens. As I've said before though, I won't announce anything further unless I get a resounding NO or get a contract signed.

Speaking of things I can't talk about. OMGYOUTUBEGUITARPLAYERAWESOMENESSINCOMING! That's all I can say at the moment. Enjoy guessing.
