Change the name to Amberian Dawn Network already!

My God, how many songs do we have of them? Not really complaining tough, the band is very good, but the quantity of their songs is just overwhelming and most of their songs tend to sound the same.

BTW, is there any possibility to release song packs on RBN?

If there was, don't you think Amberian Dawn/Main Drag/Evile would've done it with their full albums by now?

Wish my favourite bands were so dedicated to the RBN as much as they are. I don't like them but I like the fact they like Rock Band too :p

I tried to keep up with Amberian Dawn when they first released a few songs. I got three, then I stopped looking them up. Seriously though, I wonder what kind of money they've made.

Other bands truly should follow their example. The RBN really is a powerhouse of possibility, for both the bands and fans.

Other bands just aren't as cool as Amberian Dawn, I suppose. There, I said it.

By this point, Amberian Dawn has saturated the market (they have 29 vs Foo Fighter's 26, for crying out loud), but in the end, it really has nothing to do with the sales.

It's the fact that, whether you love them, hate them, or never even listen to them, you still KNOW THEIR NAME. You can't put a pricetag on that and the help it can put towards getting a band on the map.

Amberian Dawn / Andromeda / The Apples in Stereo / A T O M / Bang Camaro / Bright Midnight / Chaotrope / Children of Nova / A Day To Remember / Evile / Freen In Green / Graveyard BBQ / Hourcast / Inkubus Sukkubus / Jonathan Coulton / The Main Drag / Minnesota Sex Junkies / The Riptides / Rose of Jericho / Scott Attrill / Scratching The Itch / Shylo Elliott / Ultra Saturday / We The Kings

What do they have in common? They all have 5+ songs available through the Rock Band Network. (I'm not including any 2x Bass versions, but in terms of exposure and "free advertising" they count just as well.)

And while their levels of being "known" to the rest of the world may vary, if you see the same name show up over and over again, eventually curiosity will get the better of you and you'll take a listen to find out, "Okay, who are you and WHY do you keep releasing your tunes in my Rock Band?" :)

If Someone and Someone Else would just TALK to each other, they could release Something, one of the best known songs off of Everything. Repeat until we have Everything's entire discography. Problem solved.

We're committed to bringing our entire discography to the game in due time, Which right now is only one album but if we we're to record a live show ... Select songs from that could possibly see their way to the game. We just enjoy charting and playing the game so much to not do it.

I think at the rate we are going we should have 14 or so by the time the album is finished.

Children of Nova currently have their entire discography on RBN, but that should be changing shortly.

Of our artists, Shylo Elliott and Winter Crescent (each with one album but more being made) are putting everything they have into RBN. They're the only ones at the moment, but that can change.

It would be nothing short of awesome to see more artists putting entire discographies into RBN. It would turn the store into a true music store where fans can get any song from any band that participates, which would be amazing.

The most likely artists that would pledge their entire discographies are small, unknown bands or musicians who put a song into RB to see how it does, find it sells well, and then proceed to add more. I know that Kurodust, for one, would love to put the rest of their Containment Failure album in the game if "Doll in the Dust" sells well, and I'd love to add it. If more people discovering new bands on RBN help get the word out about the songs they played, I'm sure we'd be seeing a lot more bands putting all their songs on RBN.

I admire bands like Amberian Dawn, The Main Drag, Ultra Saturday, and any other band/artist that wants to fully back RBN. It keeps the service strong and makes the fans happy, and it makes Rock Band players happy as well by bringing new, amazing songs to play.

I never even heard of Amberian Dawn until I saw them on the Network and now I have downloaded all their RBN songs (except the 2x bass ones) and bought all their albums.

So yeah, I think they're on to something here and more bands should follow their example.

I say "cheers" to groups like Amberian Dawn for making as much of their music available as possible on RBN. This should be applauded and supported.

However, as someone over on PSN where we can only ever get a small subset of the RBN material, I say "jeers" to HMX for continuing to port over multiple songs from the same bands instead of giving us some more variety. Seriously, RBN1 support was ending so instead of spreading the love around to other groups/genres HMX dumped out TWELVE more Main Drag songs, 4 Children of Nova Songs, and gave us 2 more Amberian Dawn songs even though we already had 10 of their songs.

I've got nothing against the above bands and praise them for bringing multiple songs to RBN. However, in a situation like over on PSN where slots are limited, would it have killed HMX to throw in a little more variety?

For instance, they never bothered to port over the Big Kenny RBN track even though he is an artist who has had 10 top 40 country hits ( 1 solo) and a #1 hit. Considering the fact that he released the track to benefit Nashville flood victims through the Red Cross, it saddens me to see that HMX instead chose to release yet more songs from John Drake's little side project band.

I imagine when they look at songs to port over to the PS3, it's all about their sale success on the 360. Big Kenny's "Happy People" has only had ~200 people play it to date, and it's been available for three months. So charity or no, it's not too surprising it wouldn't make the cut.

If a song has 1,000+ players on the 360, it's likely to be considered to port over to the PS3. (Only about two dozen songs with 1,000+ players HAVEN'T made the jump yet, and several of those are ones that just came out a few weeks ago.)

There are a few odd choices within the bunch - at least one only sold 50 copies on the 360 within the last YEAR - and The Main Drag probably got a free pass due to its on-disk Goal.

Wow, I didn't realize his RBN efforts had sold so poorly over on 360. While it certainly does illuminate why Big Kenny's stuff wouldn't be high on HMX's list to bring over, it doesn't make me feel much better about them dumping 10+ songs on us by the same artists instead of spreading the love around.

Oh well, the 360 masses have spoken, so there is not much reason to be too concerned about it.

Thanks again to HMX for at least bringing some titles over to PSN. I've only wanted and purchased around 15 of them so far, but it is far better than having support completely dropped like over on the Wii.

Nodnod. I fully agree. Variety is the spice of life, and many of the songs that stand out the most in my library are the "what were they thinking when they came up with THIS?" niche songs - whether from lyrics, song style or whatever.

Unfortunately, those are the songs I check the leaderboards afterwards and see less than 100 entries on, so they'll never "escape" to the PS3. A shame, especially because those are the artists that could most use the extra exposure.

I can understand and respect from a business model why they pick the better sellers over diversity. I just wish the PS3 didn't have a weekly "cap" on the songs they accepted, so this whole issue wouldn't exist. Sigh.

I for one would like to see the flow of Amberian Dawn to the network continuing after the last new tracks are released in the form of some RB3 versions of the older tracks. I want to play those sweet, sweet keys.

I'm starting to wonder if the artists I listen to are actually that serious with their music that they don't want anything to do with the game.

I mean, I'm lucky if I download 5 songs a month from RBN and that's just scraping the barrel out of desperation. Don't get me wrong I actually do like the Jukebox the Ghost songs, but RBN is not doing to me what it has done when it first opened.

LMAO. someone has a SMALL music taste than.
There's a lot of GOOD music on there your missing out on.
    And most is NOT metal.
