I like a lot of these songs

however quite a few of these are already on RB!

"Kings And Queens", "Icky Thump", "Blood On My Hands", "Go With The Flow", "I Want To Break Free", "Simple Man", "Hard To See", "It's My Life" and "All-American Girl"

This has been in progress for a long time, so i can see why. I'll get rid of them, possibly replace.

I don't think I saw one indie, new wave or punk song. There's too much emphasis on the metal. And I think you could choose a Kansas song that's better suited for all instruments, "Dust in the Wind" is a poor choice gamewise.

And for X Japan, I hope you mean the edited version of "Art of Life" because it's really 29 minutes long.

Doesn't seem very key friendly of a list either.

I tried to keep it balanced, Agent Orange is a punk band, and I enjoy long songs (hence the 13 songs over 10 minutes long). The Dave Days song is also somewhat Pop/Punk, Rise Against is considered punk, and I am a metalhead, so of course I am somewhat biased. This is more a wishlist than a practical one, but if you have any recommendations, go ahead and post them

I really like the Dragonforce song choice, though I would've liked one of two other songs from that album more and which are Body Breakdown, which from what I've seen might not have a great chart but that's just from watching custom gh youtube vids, and Lost Souls in Endless Time, which would atleast be great on keys IMO.

Excuse me while I go cry in a corner...

Maybe three songs out of this, a few more bands.

Sure did. Did you think I cared? There's no difference in making a list of songs you want and calling it RB4 or just-for-funsies. It's not going to get magically better by calling it the latter, either.

If you find that it isn't balanced, then help out instead of complaining that your favorite songs aren't on there. This is my first setlist, for Christ's sake, and i did my best. I'm fine with constructive criticism, but i don't know what you specifically like and what genres you feel are lacking. Help instead of being a total douchecanoe

Why would I help out? It's a theoretical list. It will never have an impact on anything relevant to actually getting any songs in Rock Band, nor do I feel any sort of bond with it.

If I wanted to sculpt a list of songs I liked, I'd expand my iTunes window.

And yet you were constructive to LiveHomeVideo, albeit in the tiering as opposed to the setlist. It's called being a helpful member of a community.

at least explain how it could be better.
By having more songs I like...

Is that really a gray area when someone says they don't like it?
Wait, if you don't like the idea of sharing songs you like on a game forum, then why do you hang out in Ultimate Setlist anyway?
I never said I don't like the idea. At all. I am perfectly fine with the idea. Problems stem from things like this, where OP tells other people to suggest songs(thought it was HIS list, not The Community's Daily Thread to Determine the Next Daily Thread Thread: Day Jesus Christ, Really?), because more often than not, they'll toss them on so more people reinforce his Internet list.

Other problems include threads that are filled with nothing but the biggest, most obvious hits. Would it get good reception and sell as a game? Probably. Is it interesting to read? God no.

OK, I see your point. I also saw it before your post, so I deleted my comment.

If you complain about there being no bands you like, then say what kind of bands you do like. I want to know because as a metalhead, I generally don't listen to pop, punk, dance, techno, etc., and i would need to know what kind of bands are good for whatever genre. I'd see what music of theirs is good, which music is popular, which music is a fan favorite, etc. I would rather somebody come in, say a band that they enjoy from an underrepresented genre and lets me do the work to find the best possible songs than just shouting out songs, most of which i likely won't add. Also, at the beginning i had to remove a lot of non-metal songs due to them already being in the game, which is a problem for me.

Research. Use Last.fm, Wikipedia, Youtube, etc. Add what you feel works best for their genres. If we wanted to add our content, we might as well make our own setlists.

Made some changes to the list, added more pop / alternative, and changed the Nirvana song.

Added In the Summertime by Derek Sherinian, I think it's the only song of it's genre in this list so far, so I'm going to start changing the list, lowering the song count, etc.

Songs were added, songs were taken away. Much more balanced list.
