Okay, I've been devising this list for like 3 or 4 weeks in my spare time. It's a list of every song recorded on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart from 1958 to 2012. I'll update it with new songs when they get added to RB and when there is a new #1. I excluded cover versions of songs that were already 1s before they were covered.

So far, we have 118 #1s on RB. If you see any mistakes, please tell me so I can fix them!

Years that we don't have any #1s from:
  • 1958
  • 1959
  • 1960
  • 1961
  • 1963
  • 1972
  • 1993

This is awesome! I always love these "Completing" threads. Let's hope we get as many of these songs as possible, especially MMMBop!

There's a few songs that your color forum coding is messed up. I saw Blaze of Glory and one of the Bee Gees songs.

This list reminds me of how I'd seriously buy "the Rickroll" if it came out to Rock Band.

Thanks for catching that, I fixed it!

Glad you guys like it. It took way too long to make haha.

Do we seriously only have two 90's #1s? (Both of them post RB3, at that!)

    Nice list, though!

"The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" - The Chipmunks with David Seville

Why don't we have this yet!

Edit: Damn! I just looked it up to see if there was a possible RBN release but it looks like the song is on Liberty Records which is owned by EMI who have stopped working with the RBN.

Its up to you now Harmonix

Good thread! However, pretty much everything past the '90s sucks. I didn't even know most of those 2000's song made it to #1(!) I hate my generation.

This list is awesome, but it also makes me glad that Harmonix doesn't choose songs specifically for their charting rank. There's a lot of songs on the list that I'd rather not hear ever again if I have a choice (I'm looking at you, The Macarena >_> ).

We've seen "Walk Like An Egyptian" and "The Loco-Motion", I really wouldn't doubt seeing anything played for bigger parties anymore. I will admit they fit nicely, but when announced I had the same thing go through my head: "Oh no."

I agree, this game is seriously lacking some Michael Bolton.

We need: "At the Hop" - Danny & the Juniors. I doubt kids nowadays even know what a "hop" is. :P

OK, point taken. :p As much as the 90's rocked, Billboard #1s aren't the best reflection of that. Hell, I think the only 90's #1s I'd buy are "Waterfalls", "One Week", "MMMBop" and "Smooth". (And, have mercy on my soul, maybe "Livin' la Vida Loca".)

Oh nah, I didn't quite mean it that way. I just wanted to make a Michael Bolton reference. :D

I enjoy 90s music as much as the other decades. I'd for sure get: "Opposites Attract", "Escapade", "Joyride", "Hold On", "Good Vibrations", "Black or White", "Baby Got Back", "Informer" (just so I know what he's saying), "I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)", "Stay (I Missed You)", "Here Come's the Hotstepper", "How Do U Want It” / “California Love", "No Diggety", "Wannabe" (yes, really), "Mo Money Mo Problems", "One Week", "No Scrubs", "Genie In a Bottle", "Bailamos", "Smooth".

There sure are a ton of love songs and R&B/Rap as #1s in the 90s.

What might be interesting is to see if any Dance Central tracks can be included.

    For instance, Funkytown.

It's not particularly strong in terms of gameplay, but I'm not gonna turn any of their material down, even their 90's stuff.

I'd be down for #1's from any era, and everyone else should be too. I'm not crazy about some of the songs, but it is still a #1 Billboard hit! I think that's a great accomplishment for HMX! Complaining about the DLC is just selfish.
