The March announcement thread starts now!

If you've been following the earlier thread you know we've gotten a pretty awesome band on board, and we're HOPING to be able to announce it today. There are still some things we need to lock in before announcing, so as of right now we can't announce this band. However, that might change during the day, and if it doesn't then we'll make a separate thread as soon as we're able to announce.

Also we were dropping some hints about a band we're working with. The hints were that they have been in GH multiple times, both as DLC and on disc, that this band was one that a few years ago no one would ever imagine them coming to the Rock Band platform, and lastly this band had Lex's favorite on disc Guitar Hero 3 song.

A few of you have guessed it, but we'll start off today announcing the band in question is An Endless Sporadic!

Being a Neversoft employee band, back during the heyday of the GH/RB rivalry no one would ever think that a 'Neversoft' band would come to their rivals platform.

We're working on four songs from them :
Impulse, Anything, The Triangular Race Through Space, and From the Blue/Point of No Return!

Here's a look at the first song we're working on From the Blue/Point of No Return :
http://youtu.be/HoftMI9rEYI

Stay tuned for more exciting announcements throughout the day!

As an aside, there's some nasty weather moving through here, so if there's no updates for a long period of time then blame mother nature. If this does happen I'll be back on as soon as possible to keep the announcements going!

Listened to everything that TAG announced except Halcyon Way, and I can't say I like them D:
The vocals are either nonexistant or screamo (in case of The Duel). I think The Endless Sporadic songs would be infinitely times better if the keys section was used sparingly instead of being thrown out in the whole song. The keys sound cool, but if they're just massively thrown up like that it just tunes out and becomes noise.

Because if there's anything we pro keys players would be looking forward to, it's more songs with sparse keys sections. ;)

That keys instrumental looks and sounds interesting. Bloody hard, though.

Just listened to IndoctriNation. Yeah, the vocals are pretty ehhhh, and the screamo bits add variety, but still aren't for me. The guitar is pretty cool, but I can't imagine myself buying it to play, because it doesn't really feel enjoyable.

Not sparse, but something that adds flair to the song. I can imagine that it would be fun to play, but it's not really fun to listen to because the endless repetition of the keys just drown everything out and make the whole entire song suffer and feel instantly forgettable. I can't honestly say I remember a lick of any of the 4 songs besides "massive amounts of keys that have no memorable parts in them at all because they don't let up." I am a firm believer of the phrase "variety is the spice of life" and it definitely applies to music too. Also, it reminds me of Selkies and I don't like that song. But that's just an "out there" statement.

Hey guys, first announcement of the day.

We're excited to announce that we're bringing the the female fronted rock band, Kandia, to the Rock Band Network! The song marking their RBN debut is their single, "Into Your Hands".

"Pure - raw - melodic - sensual - rock music that goes into your ears, through your bloodstream and makes your toes tickle. This female-fronted band sends positive messages never leaving aggressiveness behind but always ironically sweetening it.

On May 2009, Kandia entered the studio to record their debut album “Inward Beauty|Outward Reflection”. The album contains nine new songs and a remake from “Rise” - the song was chosen by Myspace fans to be re-recorded on the album.

Their debut album also features Charon's frontman JP Leppaluoto on song “Reflections” , which allowed the band to capture the attention of this Finnish band admirers and enlarge the fan-base.

Struggling to record their first video-clip ever, the band would release “Into Your Hands” video almost a year after the release of the debut album. Nonetheless, the video got exposure on MTV’s Headbangers Ball and counts over 35k views on Youtube. "

Click here to see a preview of the song in game, and remember; if you are digging what you hear, make sure to hit up and follow these guys (and girl) on Facebook!

Also, make sure you stay tuned, as we have some HUGE announcements planned for later in the day!

A Death: This is what I mean by variety in keys and letting up to make the cool parts even more interesting! Even though the keys don't stop playing, the interesting parts just stick out more in comparison to the regular keys playing! And the vocals are ok. They have potential for being awesome if the guy put some heart into it (and sang louder). And the harmonies are awesome. They come in extremely late in the song, but they definitely pop out for being cool.

Fragments: The vocals and keys are very repetitive in the beginning of the song, but the POP moment at 1:29 helps that. But the thing is, the pop moment could use a lot more...EXPLOSIVENESS, ya know? That's why listening to these songs, I can tell this band has massive potential to become incredibly awesome. The vocalist definitely has potential if he only sang with his heart out and sang LOUDER and the instruments even mor- THERE IT IS! AT 3:05! IF THE VOCALIST COULD SING LIKE THAT CONSISTENTLY AND USE THE REGULAR VOICE AS VARIETY, THEN IT WOULD BE A MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT! Yes, this is exactly what I pictured how the band could end up. Everything I said about them and how I feel about them and want them to become pops out at 3:05. They're still in a shell, but it feels like they're punching through it.

Words Cannot Express: The keys in this song are exactly what I would picture them in a song with... more instruments in them >_>
The keys kick ass and the vocals are really tapping into that pool of potential. A lot more fun than the other songs to listen to, but I would think Fragments is more fun to play.

    I approve, DLCQuickplay :)

I don't really like the vocalist, but the guitar and harmonies are really awesome. And I hear something that sounds remotely like keys in the background. Why aren't those charted D:
And I completely disagree with lowering the guitar in the mix. It stands out really well and brings the song up. However, I do agree that the drums are a bit too soft.

Rise And Shine is probably the coolest Anarchy Club song I've listened to so far. Which is unfortunate, because the other 2 songs that you put up by them have awesome names and I wish I liked them more. The drums are really cool and the vocals are ok and weird, which is a definite improvement over their other RBN offerings. The guitar is also really cool too. It's weird... It's like what I would picture Mastodon to be if they were good rather than ok :I

This just in, this song does a better job at being Mastodon than Mastodon! O:

Riddle Me This has a really cool guitar track and some sick keys, but the vocals aren't too my liking. But it's really cool to listen to. In fact, these 2 tracks are going to make me revisit the other 2 Anarchy Club tracks I passed, because they might have more potential than I thought.

Or maybe I'm too hungry to think clearly :p

    That's a HMX-released song, too, not RBN.

Really? I always thought it was RBN. Oh, well, I still recommend it.

So, first announcement: A while back it was announced by TriumphantBass that the piece 4'33" by John Cage would be coming, featuring absolute silence for the whole track, but then this was cancelled due to negative feedback from the community. Well, I'm proud to announce that, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Cage's birthday, that a number of Cage's compositions will be coming to the Rock Band Network. Cage has been hailed as being ahead of his time with his experimental pieces and now you can enjoy them as they become released for the platform.

And no, 4'33" will most likely not be one of them.

Announcement 2: I said before that I would be working with industrial rock band Proventek to bring his song "Selfish" (the link is a full gameplay video), well now I will be working with him to bring the full, currently in progress album to the platform. Not only that, but a couple of his other musical projects will be coming too, so you industrial fans are sure to be pleased. While I'm on the topic, I'm also going to be bringing the full upcoming EP by Sunnyfield Lanes (I've already announced that their track "Antarctica" is coming). You can see some of previews of the tracks here.

I've got something else I need to do a little more work on before I can announce, but that shouldn't take too long.

4'33" would be an amazing party song and would always get played when I have friends over XP

Selfish has some really awesome drums and keys, but the vocals are quite...terrible. Same with the bass. I don't see me buying it, but it does have a really cool sounding (and by the looks of it, they look really fun to play) drums and keys part.

I've listened to the song they have in RB2, the song from RBN, and the DLC by them. Oh and the whole Megalodon album. I was trying really really hard to like them. REALLY REALLY HARD.

The guitar in Skeletonizer is really cool, but it has screamo vocals so it has a very very slim chance of me liking it. Even Nemesis, the only screamo song I enjoy (and I effing love that song), took me an incredible amount of time to like. Like, it took me months of listening to it to get me to like it.

Next up from our partners at Season of Mist is legendary doom metal pioneers Saint Vitus.

Founded in 1978, they've been credited as one of the first doom metal bands, and have released 11 albums over the past 34 years.

We'll be bringing the track Blessed Night from their newest album Lillie: F-65, which will be released on March 27, 2012.

We're working on the track now, and it should hit testing in the next week or so. Meantime here's a live version of the song to give you a taste of what to expect (the version we're working on is a studio/album version for those curious).

"an Unkindness", also a good way to describe their Bandcamp's color scheme. >_< (And I like purple, but... man.)

Anyway. I had put down a few hints yesterday, nobody paid any attention to them, which is actually slightly appropriate for our second band. So, they get to go first. Try and follow that!

Courtesy of Bright and Barrow Records, we have: Goin' Places, a Staten Island punk trio with influences ranging from The Clash to The Mr. T Experience. There's moments of pop, hardcore, classic, just about any kind of punk out there. It's been ten years since their debut, and we're bringing two songs from their just-released sophomore album "Relationship Sneakers" to RBN. First is the title track, with plenty of poppy singalong harmonies. Second is the more Ramones-style "Nobody Gives a **** About Us", which as you can probably guess, will be censored a fair bit. In fact, it's so censored I can't actually link to it here, the forum eats the link.

The first pair of hints was supposed to allude to a bit of Swedish death metal- not exactly unheard of for RBN. It is, though, a bit of an anomaly coming from Swedish pop/electro label Despotz Records. After a little hiccup with our first planned announcement, we can now announce that we're working with them to bring you "Phoenix Down" by The Unguided! They're a more melodic metal group, and there's plenty to go with on each instrument.

And hopefully, these will just be the first of the tracks we do for each of these labels. Along with these, there's more not-quite-solidified plans for additional Redfield Records tracks to come out, so hopefully you guys like their metal/hardcore collection. His Statue Falls, Mutiny on the Bounty, Team Stereo... these are just some of the bands on Redfield. Maybe they're worth mentioning. :)
