Congrats again HMX for going this long. Lots of great DLC released over the past 5 and a bit years.

Note: I'm sure plenty of people have picked up on the fact that the preview video is the penultimate Blitz week ("Always", "Kids in the Street", "Give It Away").

I was really hoping that this was all an elaborate April Fool's joke. I guess it's actually going to happen though. I will miss getting new content but there is still a lot of songs I have yet to add of the content currently available.

Please continue to keep the store open and leaderboards live for as long as possible!! Rock Band has been a huge part of my life and I have enjoyed playing with friends and family whenever I get the chance.

Even though there are a million more songs I could think of that I hoped would make it into the RB catalog, "American Pie" is a heckuva way to go out. Even my 4 year old loves that song. That just shows how much power music has: even after decades have passed, it can still bring joy to people of all ages.

Peace and love to all those at Harmonix! Thanks for the memories and all the hard work you put in to bring us all together with our mutual love of music.

So we finally got American Pie, what songs do you think we'll get next week? Personally I'm hoping for more Radiohead.

I'm glad the "GH exclusive" contract terms aren't public, otherwise I'd be obsessively hitting refresh on the official RB message board every day at 10am for weeks before and months after each milestone. Hopefully a bonus release will happen, someday, for some artist, and it'll sneak up on me out of the blue long after I've totally forgotten about the possibility. So I can just set a Google Alert and forget about it. Wait, did Google get rid of that function too? Dammit.

    They're keeping it open son.

If they make Rock Band Blitz 2 it will have exports I'm sure.

Thank you HMX for all that you've done and I hope that we'll see some DLC in the future down the road if you guys feel like it or anything. Heh, yeah right. But I can still dream.

Well, I'll see you guys around.

I'm glad we have a huge catalog, so it will take a long time to get boring.
Let's hope that since Harmonix won't be actively persuing future DLC, hopefully they are keeping their eyes on the end of the contracts that would free up Metallica's stuff we don't have and the Van Halen contract.
Also, maybe Harmonix can get RBN some of the contacts for some of the major label artists we haven't got yet.
Or elaborate on some of the artists they already have.
I'd love for more Billy Joel, Aerosmith, Queen, Volbeat, Ratt etc, etc...

I just might cry when I sing this. It's a sad song anyway, especially when you're aware of at least some of the history behind the lyrics, and now it marks another sad occasion. I've said it before, music and video games are two of my biggest passions, and Rock Band perfectly combined them, making the world a much better place and me a much better player, in every sense of the word. It's sad to see it end, but a more fitting end could not have been asked for.

I haven't even tackled "Rosanna" and "Weird Science" on keys or vocals yet. I just been quite ready to let the well run dry. Maybe I'll save them for next Tuesday, or even beyond, when I have time to mix those with "American Pie" in some final big marathon featuring both new and much-loved tracks from the catalog.

Whatever happens, thanks, Harmonix, for five awesome years. And here's to holding onto a teensy bit of hope that this is not really The End.

Perfect song to end HMX DLC on.

Not as sad as it could be for me- in the last 2 years I've bought more RBN songs than official DLC. So I'll still be buying 2 or 3 songs a week (usually) until the RBN goes away.

Simply .. thanks very much hmx for a GREAT game and amazing support. I really do hope this genre of game gets some new life (someway .. somehow!!) on the next generation of consoles. Because, if the genre arises from the ashes, HMX has to be involved, cuz .. nobody does it better.

But ... anyway ... thanks again for providing countless hours of fun with family and friends.

Anyone find it strange that the last DLC announcement is on Good Friday, the day Jesus died?

    Just sayin.. wierd..

Anyway, I've never been much of a poster here, but I will occasionally read some threads and always check for dlc announcements..

I want to thank HMX for literally everything. Sure I started with GH3(which wouldn't exist without you) but once I got rock band.. there was no going back. I'm proud of my 950+ songs, yet also disgusted for spending that much on a game.

This was my game throughout all of high school and in too college, and while I'll be checking back in blind hope of some crazy april fools/gh contracts/just some random release as often as I can untill i just give up.. and slowly forget about this games existence.. I know it will be there when im 40 and they will come back, it won't be a very good game.. and the newness will be gone, but it will feel amazing and bring me back to the good ol days.

Congratulations HMX for making the greatest video game of all time, GH and RB

First off, a resounding "Thanks" and "Congratulations" to Harmonix, who achieved something truly unprecedented with the Rock Band franchise!

I won't say "RIP", because I know I'll still be playing Rock Band for years to come. I've recently started singing while drumming and it's breathed new life into the game for me. While I miss the days when Rock Band (and the "other one") were a cultural phenomena, I look forward to digging deeper for back catalog songs that I haven't purchased yet.

I probably won't bother to sign in here any more, but I will probably drop in and catch up occasionally just to see what's going on.

Bye bye, all. It was a great ride.

sad that the final weekly release is only 1 song, thought that it would go out with a bang

personally i don't really mind that it has ended, with some exceptions only bought a couple of songs in the last year

on the other hand, 281 weeks of releases shows real dedication, so hats off for that HMX

But would like to thankyou Rockband, Harmonix for giving us all the wonderfull DLC over the years, introducing me to alot of bands i may have never heard of.

Wish you all the best in future games and hope that you can come back to the Rockband game and maybe give us a 4 .

have enjoyed the game and will continue to, even tho we have no more tracks to look out for each Friday , there has been alot of good times.

I am truly saddened to see the weekly DLC come to an end. I hope that there will be DLC in the future, for all of your loyal rockers, like myself and all my friends. We have played together since the very beginning and have no intentions on stopping anytime soon. Thank You HMX for everything! Your hard work and dedication to the music gaming industry has been outstanding! Games may come and go, but Rock 'n' Roll is forever! And this is one game that will forever have a place in my home and in my heart.
