Official Rock Band Forum Rules - READ ME!

edited July 2015 in Rock Band
We keep it pretty simple around here. These are the original rules HMXSean wrote for this place way back when it all started and they still apply.

- Don't post anything that is racist/sexist/creedist...basically stuff that is just meant to offend people. I think we've all been on boards like that and it generally sucks. This could get you banned for a few days or banned permanently based on the seriousness of the offense.

- Just generally watch your language.

- Don't post anything copywritten, or post links to hacks or stolen music/videos/books/anything. Keep in mind we are making a game here and we have partnerships with companies that will make our game awesome that could be adversely affected by that sort of thing. We want to maintain those relationships and make an awesome game for you. This will get you banned. Probably permanently.

-No spam. No one likes spam. No one is going to buy your 1/2 price pharmaceuticals, your opinions on penny stock garbage, or your inane spam poetry of random words. First of all it isn't rock, second of all it is the worst possible way to advertise to a person. This is an immediate permanent ban and we will forward your weird foreign IP to the appropriate parties. We may also have a party at your house when you aren't there and break your stuff.

-There is no buying/selling/trading allowed on the Rock Band Forums

-Just say no to console wars. It is beneath all of us to track that mud in here.

-No backseat moderating. Please use the report function and allow the staff to handle forum moderation.

[Note: this includes whining that someone made a thread about something. If you believe there is a problem with a certain thread, your recourse is to report it, not to post about it in the thread and end up derailing it.]

- The various setlist "leaks" we see running up to launch are not valid rumors that are up for discussion on the forums. More on this here:

-Have fun and start networking. This is imperative.

TL:DR? - Be excellent to each other...

Please report offensive posts using this method. You will find it far more effective than arguing with other users or backseat moderating.

How to report threads and/or posts.

Click the little flag icon at the bottom of the post and select REPORT.

Then use the pop up window to complete the report.

The forum staff will be notified immediately.

    Thank you for your help.
