Band 6 is Reel Big Fish (almost too easy with that tdc002 hint :p)
  • Without actually looking at the tracklist to refresh my memory, Band #1 could be Helmet?
  • @MCSMeister For Mystery Band 6, you are correct. :)

Mystery Band 6 is Reel Big Fish, a Ska-punk band that is long overdue (Yes, we have The Bosstones, Sublime, and Save Ferris' cover of Come On Eileen. And there's several Ska-punk bands that could use some love for Rock Band 4). The band gain notable mainstream recognition with their album, Turn the Radio Off, as well as their famous cover of A-Ha's Take On Me, from the film, BASEketball.

The band's cover of Take On Me will be one of the eight songs of Mystery Track Pack 04.

@WingsOfSteel For Mystery Band 1, you are correct. :)

Mystery Band 1 is Helmet, a New York-based Alternative Metal band that is known for the song, Unsung, which was one of the 30 non-bonus track songs of the very first Guitar Hero game, that was once Harmonix's property before Activision claimed ownership. The band's singer, Page Hamilton, contributed vocal works on the Linkin Park song, All for Nothing, from their album, The Hunting Party, which will be in my Rock Band 5 2018 Track list.

Unsung will be the second song for Mystery Track Pack 04.

    2. There is a Turtle named after this band's hit song.
    3. Soundgarden was one of the six bands that contributed songs to the soundtrack for the updated version of a Sega Genesis game. This band and Mystery Band 5 are two of the 5 other bands.
    4. Most of the lyrics of this band's biggest hit are spoken word, which is a mock parody to a 1964 teen advice book.
    5. Soundgarden was one of the six bands that contributed songs to the soundtrack for the updated version of a Sega Genesis game. This band and Mystery Band 3 are two of the 5 other bands.

    8. One of the big four Britpop bands, along with Oasis and Blur.
  • Band 8 = Suede?
  • @JimmyLethal Correct! :)

Mystery Band 8 is Suede, who were one of four Britpop bands that brought their genre to worldwide audiances in the 1990s, along with Pulp, Oasis, and Blur. They had some early success with their Self-Titled Album, but their success grew after their line-up change and the release of the album, Coming Up. Their success continued until 2001, and eventually broke up in 2003. Recently, they've reunited in 2010, and released two new albums after their break-up.

The song, Trash, from the album, Coming Up, will be one of the songs in Mystery Track Pack 04.

I think I've figured out 5, which is Paw and the game is Road Rash, which featured that and Soundgarden on the PS1 version's soundtrack.

EDIT: Removed second guess, missed the part where I was only supposed to guess one artist/band.
  • @LiveHomeVideo

    02. You can only guess one artist.

I'll just choose one of your guesses out of random, accept that, and then let someone else guess the other guess. And I'll choose the guess for Mystery Band 5, which is correct.

Mystery Band 5 is Paw, a Alternative Rock band from Kansas, which recorded 2 albums before breaking up. The songs Jessie, Pansy, and The Bridge, from the album, Dragline, were used in the the updated version of Road Rash, a Sega Genesis motorcycle racing game.

The song, Jessie, will be the 4th song of Mystery Track Pack 04.

Whoops! Damn, sorry about that, I should try and do these when I'm not half asleep sometime, maybe I won't be an idiot and miss stuff like that :p

EDIT: Edited my post to remove the other guess, hopefully not too many people saw it.
  • @LiveHomeVideo Hey, it's okay. I make mistakes, too, sometimes. (Usually when I'm playing certin RPG games). But I hope you're looking forward to next week's Wishlist DLC. (Probably not as epic as the Nightmare Revisited or that NFL-themed one that I did in August, but still solid), as well as the remaining songs on my Rock Band 5 2018 Setlist.

I have a feeling that this month, another song from this Wishlist Thread will be chosen as a RB4 DLC for this year. (HMXOwl mentioned fruit as a clue, so I'm assuming it's either Play That Funky Music or Peaches, but we'll see.)
  • Well, that I really helped. Band 7 = Spice Girls.
  • Radiohead97Radiohead97 Rising Star
    Band 4 is Nada Surf.
  • MCSMeisterMCSMeister Road Warrior
@FritzyKatz I'm thinking you should start including "ONLY ONE GUESS PER DAY ALLOWED" in all-caps and bold at the top of each mystery track pack post, since this mistake has happened in two consecutive ones now. People seem to be overlooking that important rule.
  • @MCSmeister Good point. :)

@JimmyLethal For Band 7, you are correct. :)

Mystery Band 7 is the Spice Girls, one of the 1990s Teen Pop acts, who helped led the movement into success, with their song, Wannabe, from their album, Spice. The band produced 3 albums, and one comedy movie that was met with very bad reviews and ratings from film critics, before the band folded in 2000.

The song, Say You'll Be There, from the album, Spice, will be one of the songs for Mystery Track Pack 04.

@Radiohead97 For Band 4, you are correct. :)

Mystery Band 4 is Nada Surf, a Alternative Rock Band from New York, who are well known for the song, Popular, from their album, High/Low, which was produced by The Cars' frontman, Rik Ocasek. The song's lyrics, which are spoken word, are made up from the 1964 Teen Advice book, Penny's Guide to Teen-Age Charm and Popularity. Today, the band still tours with the same line-up.

Popular will be one of the songs for Mystery Track Pack 04.

ONLY ONE GUESS PER DAY ALLOWED

  • MCSMeisterMCSMeister Road Warrior
    Is band 3 Monster Magnet?
  • @MCSMeister Correct! :)

Mystery Band 3 is Monster Magnet, a New Jersey band who are one of the first bands of the Stoner Rock genre. They are the other band that contributed to the remake of Road Rash's soundtrack, alongside Soundgarden and Paw (Mystery Band 5), with the song, Dinosaur Vacuum, from the album, Superjudge. While the song, Space Lord, from their forth album, Powertrip, achieved mainstream success in the Mainstream Rock charts.

Space Lord will be the second to last song in Mystery Track Pack 04. We're down to one last band, so therefor, I'll give you a three letters to help you solve the last mystery band. Those letters will be M, R, and S.

ONLY ONE GUESS PER DAY ALLOWED
ONLY ONE BAND LEFT, EVERYONE GETS A SECOND GUESS

    2. There is a Turtle named after this band's hit song.
  • Band 2 is Mister President, and that Turtle is none other than Coco Jumbo from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure?
    (PS Suede rules)
  • @thebipsnbeeps Correct! :) (I would love to see Beautiful Ones in Rock Band, sometime (That's my favorite song from Suede).

Mystery Band 2 is Mr.President, a Eurodance group from Germany who is well known for their song, Coco Jamboo. In Hirohiko Araki's Jojo Bizarre Adventure's Vento Aureo Arc, one of the characters from that arc is a turtle named Coco Jumbo, which derives from the song in question. The said turtle is a Stand-user who has a Stand named after the band in question.

Coco Jamboo is the final song in Mystery Track 04, and thus, the Pack is completed. :)

    =Chapter 4 Story=
"With only 3 more missing mammals to find, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are almost done with their assignment. Recently, they got a reliable tip-off from a College Student from Seattle. He said that he saw a Female Leopard from Zootopia while heading to a Fast Food Restraunt with his buddies. Judy and Nick headed to Seattle, where they found Stephanie Stalkinew. They escorted the leopard back home to Zootopia."
    =Chapter 4 Story End=

    - Helmet - Unsung (Band Tier: Impossible)
    - Mr.President - Coco Jamboo (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Monster Magnet - Space Lord (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - Nada Surf - Popular (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Paw - Jessie (Band Tier: Nightmare)
    - Reel Big Fish - Take On Me (Band Tier: Impossible)
    - Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There (Band Tier: Apprentice)
    - Suede - Trash (Band Tier: Moderate)

Look forward to more Artists for this month. Next Week will be a Bowling For Soup pack, with a surprise artist. :)

Fun Fact: Stephanie Stalkinew is a canon name.
  • Those of you who have been enjoying this thread, rejoice!

Heat of the Moment by Asia is coming to Rock Band 4 as a DLC, thus crossing off another song from Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80's setlist. I'm not going to replace it until @MCSMeister makes his comparison.

@MCSMeister If you looking for the song in this thread, then check the very first page and check Post 14.
  • This just in! Another song in my Wishlist thread has been announced for DLC!

Them Bones by Alice In Chains is coming to Rock Band 4, as part of the Alice In Chains 03 Pack. Our first Official DLC Pack since February! :)

As usual, not replacing it until @MCSMeister makes his comparison. And that will have to wait until... Next week. So I'll be looking forward to that time. :)
  • MCSMeisterMCSMeister Road Warrior
So I do plan on buying "Heat of the Moment", but I haven't played it yet. Still, I wanted to be on time with this comparison.

    "Heat of the Moment" comparison

Vocals are spot-on, guitar and bass are one dot off, and....drums are three dots off. Quite oppositely from last week, I think you overtiered drums just a tad on this one. Though, I can see why you probably bumped it up (the fast hi-hat bit during the bridge, plus the wonky beat during the guitar solo at the end) but overall, it's a fairly straightforward chart that isn't extremely difficult outside of those moments. Good comparison otherwise.

Finally, here's the three-way comparison between you, @LiveHomeVideo, and @JimmyLethal. Similar to how JimmyLethal's vocal tier sticks out among the others, your drum tier seems a bit high in comparison to everyone else. But overall, I'm really impressed with this triple comparison because everyone got at least one tier correct, save for bass.
  • Yeah, you're probably right about the Drum Chart. I assumed it might be hard, because of the fast Hi-Hat, but I knew that Harmonix wouldn't chart it as such. So I agree with them, and you.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to your comparison with Them Bones, once it comes out next week. :)
  • Heat of the Moment has been replaced with the following song...

    - Escape Club - Wild Wild West (Band Tier: Challenging)

Look forward to the sixth song preview of Rock Band 5 2018, and a special DLC Pack, tomorrow morning. :)

You spelled Lynyrd Skynyrd wrong in the card
  • Special DLC Pack will be coming later, today. But first, here is the next preview of Rock Band 5 2018's Setlist.

    =New Songs Announced=
    - America - Sister Golden Hair
    - Bruno Mars - Runaway Baby
    - Blood, Sweat, & Tears - Sometimes In Winter
    - Deep Purple - Hush
    - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Things Goin' On
    - The Neighborhood - Let It Go
    - Priestess - Lay Down

    - Queen - Innuendo
    - Rammstein - Waidmanns Heil
    - The Replacements - Can't Hardly Wait
    - Save Ferris - Superspy

@Radiohead97 Fixed. Thanks for pointing out my Typo Error. :)
  • Now, for the special DLC Pack. :)

Recently in this week, we've lost yet another music great: Tom Petty, the frontman of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, has passed away in October 2, 2017. Unlike with Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington, he passed away from cardiac arrest.

So, in honor of him, I'm releasing a 8 Song Pack of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Each of them is a single representing a significant album from each decade of music, while 1 is a deep cup from a very significant album from their career.

First is from the debuting Self-titled album, Anything That's Rock'n Roll. The next song in the pack is Listen to Her Heart, from You're Gonna Get It! (Which is also in Guitar Hero WoR's Soundtrack). Third to join this pack is Louisiana Rain, a Deep Cut from the band's first Triple Platinum album, Damn The Torpedoes.

The Studio Version of The Waiting is song 4 of the pack (Yes, I am aware that we had the Live Version of the song, before it was delisted. But we also had the live version of Paul McCartney's Band on the Run, and also the Studio Version later on). Next to join this list is Into The Great Wide Open, from the album with the same name as the song, which won 2 Platinums in the Us and Canada, and 1 Platinum in Sweden (A total of 5).

Song 6 is The Last DJ from the album of the Same name. I Should Have Known It, from the album, Mojo, is song 7 to join the pack. The last song of the pack is American Dream Plan B, from the band's last album, Hypnotic Eye. So, without further ado, here is the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Then & Now pack.

    - American Dream Plan B (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Anything That's Rock'n Roll (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - I Should Have Known It (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - Into The Great Wide Open (Band Tier: Solid)
    - The Last DJ (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Listen to Her Heart (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Louisiana Rain (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - The Waiting (Studio Version) (Band Tier: Solid)

DLC will still be coming tomorrow, though. Tomorrow will be a Bowling for Soup pack, plus a extra artist.
  • edited October 8
It's Sunday, which means, more Wishlist DLC. :)

Before we get started, you'll noticed that I've changed my Avatar from the usual Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps to a different character. The character that I'm using is Hakubi, a character from Yellow Tanabe's manga, Kekkaishi, who is a spirit wolf companion for one of the main protagonists of that manga. This is my October Avatar, to represent Halloween. I will change back to my Nick & Judy Avatar on November 1st.

Anyways, let's get on with the Wishlist DLC. The Wishlist DLC for this week is a 3-Song Pack from the Texan Pop Punk band, Bowling for Soup, and one additional song from a different artist, Bowling For Soup is one of those bands that is long overdue for a Rock Band appearance. (They also haven't been in Guitar Hero or Rocksmith either. The only Music Game that they have been in is SingStar.)

The three songs in the pack are: From Drunk Enough to Dance, Girl All the Bad Guys Want. From A Hangover You Don't Deserve, 1985. and From their latest album, Drunk Dynasty, Catalyst. All 3 songs in this pack will be joined by one additional song.

I play for a Rivals Crew, Kings of Metal (Which is a PS4 Crew, by the way), and currently one of their best members (Expert Vocalist). My Crew Leader is from Germany, and he is part of a band called Ruins of Perception, which is a Deathcore-band.

Recently, his band released their first EP, Bonds. So I thought it would be cool if I use one of the songs from his EP as a Rock Band DLC. Using the power of Google, I saw that one of the songs from the album, Dragonhearts is on the top of the list of most viewed songs. So I went with that. Well, with that all explained, I can now present to you Bowling for Soup 01.

    =Bowling for Soup 01=
    - 1985 (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Catalyst (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Girl All the Bad Guys Want (Band Tier: Moderate)

    =Extra Song=
    - Ruins of Perception - Dragonhearts (Band Tier: Impossible)

Next Week, on October 16th, will have a DLC Pack to honor a Mangaka Artist who created one of the longest running Manga series (And it ain't anything from Shonen Jump). It will have 30 songs from Japaneses Artists, which is larger than most of my Wishlist DLC Packs. So I hope you are looking forward to it, as well as the next Weekly DLC on Sunday. :)
