How did you split your Blue & Green cymbals?

I use something like this, but I'm pretty sure mine has gold contacts. I can't find a link for where I bought it. It was quite cheap and definitely not road-worthy, but I don't ever break down my drums it only has to connect and stay connected once.

Here it is. Yeah, it's gonna break pretty easy, but what do you expect for 47 cents with gold plated connectors?

That's exactly how. Sorry, didn't see the post until now.

It can get pretty congested in there and i had to do some moving around of wires and the brain to get it to fit without having large bends on the connectors or have them pushed up on my pads.

I have the same without the backrest.
One thing I learned with these is to make sure you're as far back on the chair as possible.
Your backrest should help keep on this, but if you sit too forward on these ones, you'll develop pain and less projection.

How are you playing Ions on an Xbox One?

Are you using the PDP adapter? Doesn't seem like they're making any more? U___U

Word is they're starting back up production for April, but only a few people have received this word (although it includes a couple of forum regulars here).
  • Any eletronic part with same entrance plugin works with Ion brain?
  • Any eletronic part with same entrance plugin works with Ion brain?

    No. Only certain ones work.

I know that Pintech PC and TC cymbals work, and Pintech ConcertCast mesh drum pads work.

Some other stuff works too, but I don't have the list. Many things don't work.

Simmons gear seems to work fine with the ion brain.

    are those pintech cymbals?

No. They are the original ones that come with the KAT kt3. They are all dual zone as well.

Hello fellow drummers . I am going to be replacing 3 Tom pads and just wanted to see if anyone has any opinions about what I should get... I'm currently using a Roland pd-125 for a snare. 2 Roland pd8 ( black rubber) as yellow and blue Toms and a Roland pdx-6 ( small mesh head ) as green floor tom... the pdx6 is great but too small. But anyway. Any suggestions on what pads I should get? I'm looking at pdx-100's for y,b,g Toms. .

You can do an Acoustic to Electronic conversion for a fraction of the cost.. just a suggestion
  • I ended up buying 3 roland pdx-100 pads
  • I replaced my PC-14s with TC-14s because I didn't like the super loud "KLONK!" sound of hitting the PCs, and I play with the sound system cranked up LOUD, too.
  • Durability was my main problem with the PC cymbals. Believe I destroyed three or four of them before upgrading to Visulites (and later, Rolands).

I'll post too since it's informative to see what others have done:

    E-Kit - Roland TD-3 to MPA on XBox1:
Four CY-8 cymbals (Y, G, B, G) - super useful to have left-side crash (play Tom Petty and you'll 'get it')
Cymbals are OFF RACK - Pearl stand and a few cheapies - I can adjust on a per-song basis much more easily now
    KD-8 with dual pedals
Snare: PDX-8 - can play rim or snare depending on song - both count as red hits
Toms: Mesh upgraded Ion - the last remaining components of my old kit - eventually will be Roland

    Stats:
Pro Drum Rating: 1,000 - rank #6 on XBox1 (highest ranking player that actually plays)
    358 GS, 73 FC, 17 Crimson

    A/V:
    72" 1080p (upgrade to 75" 4k later this year)
4x Definitive BP9080x Atmos speakers in 3000+ watt 5.5.4 Atmos (5 subwoofers, 9 sub radiators)
Audio latency in RB: 73ms on XBox1

Supporting Rock Band (in last photo):
    Dance floor with disco ball
    3 beer taps
250 bottle bar - always stocked

    Want to have:
Smoke machine, DMX lighting (had some of this with stage kit - will probably build my own soon)

@Big Ronnie: I used the Pintech's for years, but had the TC-14s. I'm not sure how many of them I went through, but I do play the cymbals on the hard side. If you get off of the Ion, see if you can find the Roland PD-8s on Craigslist. I ended up finding a 4-set on eBay used and they're amazing. I did stop at the Yamaha's for a brief round and never could get them tuned well for crosstalk, etc, on the drum brain.

I do have a gibraltar throne with stick-bag and drink holder attachments but I think you've got a better throne for sure.

    Enjoy!

highest ranking player that actually plays..... huh? What do you mean by this?

Four of the people above me played the minimum number of songs to get a perfect 1000, and have stopped playing (they have around 100 stars worth of total playing vs my 17k stars and counting). One of the players above me appears to have ... no nice way to say it... cheated.

I play every week - and am constantly adding songs to my GS list. None of the players ahead of me have played in the prior six months, or I'd have seen their star count change... they're inactive.

Point being: those players were simply going for best rating, then stopped playing (some have fewer than 8 song plays total). You won't see them play in the race to bloodstone or in online play...

Your wiring puts mine to shame - looks really clean! I did try the PD8 for a bit but didn't quite get the rebound I was looking for... I'm still searching for that 'right' tom.

Do you ever have to replace the triggers on the Pintechs?
