What Are You Doing Right Now? Part SEVENTEEN - Court of Owls

  • 10 more days until the release of Ayreon's new album

and today there was a new song revealed

    ...

One time I read someone calling them "the proggiest prog to ever prog" and now I think of it everytime I see them.
  • WitticusWitticus VERY DEEP
Let me see that proooog! Prog, prog, prog, prog, prog, prog!

Every time you say prog they change the time signature
  • WitticusWitticus VERY DEEP
That's the equivalent of an angel getting their wings.

I saw a "Not My President" sticker on a car when I was at the VA today. usually a bastion of conservatism.
  • LordFlatusLordFlatus Rising Star
But he is our president, and this is our circus.
  • WitticusWitticus VERY DEEP
Same reason the "my other car's a beemer" and "female body inspector" bumper stickers aren't legally binding contracts.
  • Meat-PopsicleMeat-Popsicle Road Warrior
The condos across from Nationals Park have dueling political messages hanging from their balconies. The city has decided to ban all of the signs. On the one hand: free speech! On the other: it's all so silly, and solves nothing, and detracts from the look of the building. I would have expected the building to ban it.

I think they banned hanging American flags too, which is truly ridiculous. I've proudly flown the flag through many administrations.

'Murrica. Where all idiots are given a platform (not directed at you, Meat)
  • Where the biggest idiot has been given a platform and keys to the car.
  • WitticusWitticus VERY DEEP
We need to think about our policy for giving the idiot with the most DUIs the keys.

Oh yeah... **** you, Nintendo. Offer the classic in short supply for a few months, then pull it from the market? Dicks. Oh, now there's rumors of a Super NES classic. Screw you guys.
  • Lawdog1521Lawdog1521 Squirrel Chasing Expert
Of course I say that but when faced with Chrono Trigger, A Link to the Past, Mario World... I'll probably buy one anyway.

Nintendo is so weird. It seems like profit is never even in the list of concerns when making business decisions. I would love to see the decision making process in their boardroom.

I want a Mini-SNES. They'll probably have a huge shortage on that too.
  • Meat-PopsicleMeat-Popsicle Road Warrior
My guess was that it was too easy to hack and they will "soon" come out with a new and better one.
  • WitticusWitticus VERY DEEP
My guess is they get spooked when something goes too well and work as hard to reverse karma so the evil spirits that live around Japan don't spite them too much.
  • It is now being reported that the flight wasn't really even overbooked and removals weren't necessary. heard it on the radio. citations to follow. once I research..

Indeed, the flight was not overbooked. 4 Airline employees bum rushed the plane after the boarding was complete.

I'm a goofball and I like treasure hunts and being trendy in a ridiculous way so OF COURSE I'm eager to buy one of those new Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccinos ...

It doesn't show up in any stores if you use the app, which is good, because it kept me from actually following through. I mean, it doesn't even have any caffeine! It's adorable and hilarious when women on my FB feed pose with one (often while wearing a unicorn t-shirt) but for me to get one? I have very little shame but that might just be more awkward than funny.

I'm thinking tomorrow I'll get an espresso con panna, that sounds exotic and manly and delicious and hilarious and full of caffeine.

I like those too, but they certainly don't sound or look manly.

The bottom half will put hair on your chest.
And the whole package is WAY more manly than the Unicorn Frappachino.
And using the phrase "con panna" sounds better than "with whipped cream on top", yes?
But yeah, it's just relatively manly (while still being kinda goofy).

Oh, I had some caffè corretto (espresso with grappa) a few weeks ago, I think that would have fit the bill, but I didn't post about it on FB. Potent. I could easily imagine getting addicted to those, if I lived in Italy, and that would surely lead to Trouble.

I've been going with cortados lately, but with the milk steamed. It's a much less milky latte, so the rich coffee flavor can come through better. I don't think Starbucks offers them. I usually get a tall latte / add a shot when I'm forced to go to SB.

Fox News sounds like a delightful place to work.

If you enjoy having your genitals fondled by a drooling pervert.

or you know, you could just buy an old snes with those games for like $50. that way you even have the ability to play other games.

also i thought every single family in the world already had a SNES

judging by ebay prices for those games, I doubt you could get them for 50 bucks

also I really wish I still had my family's SNES and 100 or so games... but my Dad took those 17 years ago when the divorce happened and immediately sold them

I can do better, $15 for a SNES to anyone in the same country as me.

    Can't read games, but still.
