You guys know the drill.

Rewind and VR stuff with a few new surprises.

It's raining outside right now, so I don't see a lot of BIRDS ;)

May is another 4 week month so I'll predict:

    5/4
Disturbed - "Down With the Sickness" (RB2 rewind)
    Pierce the Veil - "Circles"

    5/11
    blink-182 - "Bored to Death"
Rise Against - "Give It All" (RB2 Rewind)

    5/18
    Slipknot - "Before I Forget" (RB3 Rewind)
    Linkin Park - "Heavy"

    5/25
    Rush - "Freewill (Vault Edition)"
Dream Theater - "Pull Me Under"

EDIT: Changed some of my predictions upon finding some patterns with the past few months:
    - Total for month is equivalent to 2 songs per week even if not necessarily 2 songs each week (last month had a 3 song week and a 1 song week which is equivalent to 2 2 song weeks)
    - 4-5 RBVR songs. March (Use Somebody, I Will Wait, Counting Stars, Promise Everything), April (Beast and the Harlot, One Way or Another, Heaven Knows, Champagne Supernova, Glass House)
    - 2-4 rewind songs. January had 3, February had 4, March had 2, April has 3

Oh boy, that new Linkin Park album is like if Living Things was even more emotionless.

I'd want No More Sorrow or Wastelands in place of Heavy, but work with what you have.

If we got anything off of Linkin Park's new album, I would be disappointed... There is no way I would buy that **** in Rock Band
  • 5/4
    - Modest Mouse - Float On (RB2 Rewind)
    - Pierce The Veil - Circles (RBVR Carryover)

    5/11
    - Carrie Underwood - Church Bells (RBVR Carryover)
    - Rascals Flatts - Life Is A Highway (LRB Rewind)

    5/18: Linkin Park 03
    - Heavy
    - One Step Closer (RB2 Rewind)
    - Wastelands

    5/25
    - Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl? (RB Rewind)
    - The Temper Trap - Alive (RBVR Carryover)

Oh my God, did Linkin Park try to become the Chainsmokers?
That new song sounds like it came from a Nickelodeon actor trying to break into music (as they tend to do).

Man, I just really hope we get "Faint" someday from them, "Bleed It Out" would be cool too, but if we get ANOTHER week with Linkin Park and it doesn't have either of those but has this new stuff I'd be a little upset, not gonna lie.

Not sure I should bother with predictions since my USL finds a new way to be wrong every month. Maybe I'll think about it more and come back to it.

Yeah the wife played the new LP for me and it was like WTF?

I get why they did that. Not really my thing but the song didn't sound bad.

    Fwiw

    LP 03
    Faint
    From the Inside
    Papercut
    Guilty All the Same
Bleed it Out (for the wife)

Throw a new song in there if you must. First 3 are musts.

I'll take Heavy if it's this version.

I actually thought the radio ID thing was broken when this came on Sirius and they got the artist wrong. Shazam said it was right. Talk about a departure.

But yeah, plenty of older Linkin Park (and hell, a little of the newer ones) that we need on here. Of the not mentioned ones, I could go for Points of Authority, Nobody's Listening and Leave Out All The Rest (to appease the vocalist in me).

But this is a prediction thread so I'll put in my hopeless prediction of Remember by Disturbed, and I'll predict that since RB3 is now fair game for rewinds, we'll get Bohemian Rhapsody this month, if not next.

    5/4
    Imperial March from Star Wars
The Saga Begins by Weird Al

    5/11
    Ghost Pack
    Cirice
    Square Hammer
    Bible

    5/18
The "not nearly as good as Rocksmith's skater pack" skater pack (so jealous)
    Sk8r Boi by Avril Lavigne
Aliens Exist by Blink 182 (R)
I Was Wrong by Social Distortion (R)

    5/25
(throws dart at music chart) Cold by Maroon 5 & Future
Don't Stand So Close to Me by The Police (R)

Points Of Authority is a great song and would be stupid-fun on harmonies.

Disturbed - Down With the Sickness

    5/11
    Maroon 5 - Maps
The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk - I Feel It Coming

    5/18

    Foo Fighters - Everlong
Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom

  • I don't think Down with the Sickness goes well with Ghost

Did Promise Everything go well with Shape of You last week? Or Black Betty and Ace of Spades? Even Can't Hold Us and That's What You Get. It's an arbitrary prediction based off of absolutely nothing, just like everyone else in this thread. Heavy metal and nu-metal are still close enough that I could see them coming together.

The true question for me is: Will we ever get another artist pack? Surely at some point... Will we be getting another expansion this year or is Rivals gonna be it? I guess this isn't the thread for those kinds of questions but.. can't help but wonder.

I'll add an extra big question to this, will we get all the RBVR songs? One of the big predictions for what "some" was referring to has been proven not to be the case, namely about the RB3 songs not being released as standalone DLC.

There were 7 RB4 + DLC songs on the RBVR setlist pre-launch so 53/60 left are new songs + rewinds (RB1, RB2, LRB, RB3). From what we've gotten from March and what's announced for April, we're now down to 44 left (4 from March, 5 from April).

If the current speed continued for RBVR progress we'd be finished in around February 2018 so there's a few potential things you could interpret from that:
    - Maybe some songs won't make it over to RB4
    - Maybe the overall quantity of DLC increases and hence potentially increase the quantity of RBVR songs
    - Maybe the proportion of RBVR songs to non-RBVR songs will change over the summer for example let's say we get 7-8 RBVR songs to 1-0 non-RBVR songs
    - Maybe the HMX and local Boston band songs will be free Rivals songs

There's other possibilities too, those are just a few I thought of.

Which is a bummer, because I gave a hint.
  • @HMXOwl - Tuesday's Gone?
  • @grumblevolcano - which of the VR songs are Boston-based?
  • @HMXOwl

Even better - "Too Daze Gone" by Billy Squier!?
Need more Billy.. Underrated classic rocker.

  • You need to show your work, or you aren't getting any credit on the test.
  • WitticusWitticus VERY DEEP
I'm going to guess Gorillaz in May. New album drops later this month, bros.

Also Cats in the Cradle because @Dad left on a Tuesday and nobody noticed till a Thursday several years later.

@grumblevolcano - which of the VR songs are Boston-based?

Spirit Kid - "To My Romeo"
    Arctic Horror - "Black Seas"
    Parks - "Sweater Weather"
The Black Cheers - "(You're) Breaking Up"

So if those end up free songs for Rivals owners then you'd be down to 40 left for purchasable DLC.

I figured that hint was just to let us know how many weeks of DLC to expect in May (there are 5 Tuesdays but only 4 Thursday), apparently not though. Hmmm.

Well, Tuesday to Thursday is 2 days. Or 48 hours. Oh! "48 Hours" Soundtrack confirmed! So ... uh .... "The Boys Are Back In Town" by the BusBoys?

Try Everything confirmed! (Zootopia has a similiar plot to 48 Hours, in which Judy Hopps has 2 days to solve the disappearance of 14 missing carnivore mammal (or called Predators in the film) citizens).

In Zootopia, anyone can be anything. In Rock Band, any song can be in the game as DLC.
