  • As one of the hugest fans of Disney music, I would buy the Disney's Classics 01 pack in a heartbeat if it actually came. It would be interesting to play Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious on Vocals, since I play Expert Vocals when doing Rivals Mode, and Mary Poppins is my favorite Live-Action Disney Movie (Even though, it's technically Live-Action/Animated film).

But all in all, I would love to have I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme), Real Gone, and the DuckTales Theme in Rock Band, if they ever came out as DLC.

I'm looking forward to seeing more songs on this wishlist. :)

The Disney song pack was a bit of a tough one to sort out. A 27-song pack is an outlandish idea for a week's DLC on its own, but I take that restriction off by assuming that by RB5 Harmonix has partened with a larger company like with EA. From there, the songs I chose fell into two camps: They were either songs I thought would work in Rock Band, or songs that I REALLY liked and would like to see. For example, I'm Still Here would work well as it's a straight-forward rock song, while say, "Savages" may not be as well-suited to the game apart from vocals.

However, we could use alt-charting for the orchestral parts to make things interesting. As I once said before, this list assumes RB5 has keys in some form or another, so we could have string orchestra charted to guitar, and other orchestration suited to keys and bass when needed. You could apply similar logic to electronic songs, where lead synth is keys, bass synth is bass, and all other synth is guitar.

That aside, I am thankful for your thoughts and support ^^

Well, good news is, power came back last Friday! I just haven't commented lately since there's been so many months posted since my last post, haha. I will say, I was pretty surprised that you included Gigakoops and A Talking Fish for this month. You must be well-aware of our veteran forum users' music! With that said, you should check out Yogurt with Sprinkles sometime (aka @dragoninforcer ). He's unfortunately deleted a lot of his old music from Bandcamp, but he has solid tunes. Also, I'm good friends with Squiggle Glitz (@GandWuser ), and he created what was (at the time) the largest tiering thread back in 2012-2014, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's been surpassed (or almost surpassed) by now.

Also maaaan, that three-single thing is still stumpin' me. I mean, they're all artists we have as DLC...they're all from the 2010s...nah that's probably wrong. The only remote guess I have is that two of the titles somewhat relate to music itself ("singing" and "entertainment", but "friends" doesn't really fit in there). It might be glaringly obvious to you, but it sure ain't to me! :p

I can't really do all of these months justice in one single post, but keep it up! Nowadays, Your Ultimate Setlist is pretty low in activity, but I still love perusing people's wishlists when they crop up. I'm sure I'm correct in assuming we'll both be buying "Super Freak" tomorrow, by the way ;)

Ah, good to hear your power is back! I am rather familiar with Gigakoops' and A Talking Fish's music due to exposure via RBN, as well as perusal of their YouTube channels and such. "Cheesy Pop Song" is one of my personal favorite novelty songs, actually.

You are actually on the right path with one of your guesses, so I'll just say that :3

Oh! So maybe I should expand on one of my guesses...I was leaning towards my third guess because you said it didn't have anything to do with the year they were made. I'll go with that.

Cool to hear you're familiar with Gigakoops and ATF, though. Guess they're kind of mini-celebrities around these parts. Also, the sad thing is, "Rico Suave" actually seems like a completely logical DLC addition at this point, since it has that laughable '90s rap aesthetic to it that "Ice Ice Baby" shares...just with gratuitous Spanish. I'd personally swap Lorde's "Liability" with "Green Light". It just makes a lot more sense from both a playability and popularity standpoint (that was the lead single from Melodrama, after all). It's kind of worn on me, truthfully, but I'd still buy it. Would work better than "Royals", that's for sure.......

Oh, and the time is ripe for a U2 pack right about now, what with their upcoming album and lead single from it being released not too long ago. Obviously they could use another pack, but Lord knows when we'll see another pack as DLC, right?

I honestly don't mind the influx of cheesy early-nineties rap, only because I like singing stupid things and there is a plethora of songs I enjoy from the last era of hip-hop's innocence that I would like, "Rico Suave" one of them. I wouldn't mind Will Smith's material, for example, or MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This". I chose "Liability" over "Green Light" for two reasons - A) "Green Light" would be an obvious choice, so I decided to throw a curveball, and B) I think it's good if we get a simple, two or three-instrument only song from time to time, but only if there's more involved stuff in the same week. If keys were still around, I'd like to play the piano medley that runs throughout the song and the vocals part is obviously good for vocalists, and if you want to stretch things, some of the low background piano notes could be charted to bass for something simplistic. I'd compare using "Liability" in a similar manner as to how we got a Harvey Danger song that wasn't "Flagpole Sitta" in the RB2 days, but the song was still a welcome addition. I additionally agree on U2. Granted, throughout most of this list, I've already used most of the big songs missing (i.e. "New Year's Day") as singles, so there wasn't a whole lot I could've added, but a simple three-pack with some of the last big hits seems like a fitting semi-closure note.

And yes, your third guess is rather close to the answer - there is an overarching theme between all three songs, but that's all I'll say

It's quite late now, but I'll upload the next month before the clock hits twelve.

The L-Train - Fall of an Empire (2010's, Metal)
Rainbow - Stargazer (1970's, Classic Rock)

Fun fact, if it were to be released as actual DLC, The L-Train's "Fall of an Empire" would be the longest Rock Band song at 50 MINUTES long! I believe Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence would be second and The Mars Volta's "Cassandra Gemini" (which is earlier in this list) would be third.

Ayyy B) Glad to see you did include that one after all.

Oh yeah, I too love dated '90s rap, and I bought "Ice Ice Baby" as DLC. I'd totally buy any Will Smith we get, too (Fresh Prince theme pls), either solo or with DJ Jazzy Jeff. Such songs may be a bit controversial as additions to RB, but I'll welcome them here and there. Makes sense about "Liability", but kind of ironic since you just included "Green Light" in that post, haha. I'm fresh out of guesses for that theme, though, unfortunately :( If no one else has an idea then you might as well reveal it.

I gotta say, if we were to get "Disco Inferno", I'd love to get the full 10-minute album version, but I have a strong feeling that the single version would be much more likely. That aside, would buy any and all Depeche Mode that we got as DLC. It's a good thing that three of their four songs in RB were RB3 DLC, but at the same time, I'd feel kind of disappointed if we got a whole lot of them without keys, since that's...kind of their main instrument. We need some Kinks in Rock Band as it is, and I'd easily buy "Alright" (RIP the piano part, though).

To be frank, I pretty much just included "Green Light" because I was trying too hard to think of another song to fit the theme of the week's singles (Blondie's "Fun" and Amy Macdonald's "Dream On" are both 2017 pop songs, so it made sense to throw in "Green Light" too).

Also, I wouldn't mind if we had a 2112-esque scenario with Disco Inferno, just with the single and album version in a bundle. Rock Band's present disco selection is quite lacking. Additionally, the feelings of loss with the keys-heavy Depeche Mode songs is the reason I choose to blind myself by assuming RB5 will have keys

I might as well reveal the answer to the singles too - the connection was that all three song titles have something to do with the theme of pleasure, receiving it to be particular. Singing, entertainment, friends, to name a few. Is it a bit of a stretch? Yes, but I thought it'd be fun, because why not?
  • Woah. New songs, man. That's like, out there, dude.

Fascination Street, Lunatic Fringe, Do It Again, and pretty much anything from the Eagles (Especially Hotel California) would be a welcomed addition to Rock Band, if we ever got them as DLC. As would the rest of the Past Guitar Hero songs.

You do realized that we have the Live Version of The Boys Are Back In Town, right? Though, it would be nice if we have the Studio Version, as well.

Aha, I knew somebody would realize that overarching theme!

As for TBABIT, I mostly included it because I think the studio version is pretty much the superior version. I also included the studio version of Cowboys from Hell in an earlier month, for the same reason, with About a Girl (Unplugged) by Nirvana on the side.

Glad to see you did include Yogurt with Sprinkles as well. You seem to be taking my suggestions quite easily, haha. With that in mind, would you be interested in some music recommendations or something of that sort? Also, I'm still pretty confused on how we don't have more Vampire Weekend by now. Maybe there's some licensing beef with them, but they seem like a highly-demanded band (and oh "Cousins", how fun you would be to play).

Small typo, by the way, should be Lana Del Rey.

The moment you mentioned Yogurt with Sprinkles, I remembered "Hey Mr. Wilson" was a thing and I had to include it for the sake of novelty. I remember first listening to it and grinning cheekily at several lines, so why not include it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm also generally open to suggestions because after a while you start to realize most of your iTunes library consists mostly of '80's music, metal, and classic rock, and you have to actively fish around to find good stuff you don't own. Suggestions are welcome so I don't have to watch "176 Songs YOU SHOULD KNOW!" dozens of time to cherry pick stuff that'd work well x3

Well damn, I was going to suggest some Gary Numan, and here you go including him in this month! Heck, that's a song I haven't even listened to from him yet. He has such a big career (21 albums) and it's on my bucket list to listen to his entire discography in my lifetime. Of course, who knows how long that'll take... Also, ugh, "Born to Be Alive" would be so fun, as would "Tarzan Boy".
