Rock Band DLC Week of 5/18: The Isley Brothers!

This week in Rock Band 4, take a trip with us, as we go back in time to the Fabulous Fifties.

Few songs are as iconic as The Isley Brothers' 1959 hit “Shout”. The song (which was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame back in 1999) has become a staple at sporting events and weddings around the world. The vocals are incredibly difficult, as one would expect, with a heavy focus and minimal time to breathe. You’ll have to follow the chart all over for the full length of the song. Drums have a continuous shuffle that will test the speed of your left hand. Here’s your chance to get a bit softer AND a little bit louder now in Rock Band.

"Shout" can be purchased individually for $1.99.

We’ll be showing off this week’s newest DLC on our Twitch stream today starting at 5pm ET. Tune in here!

* Please note that this week’s DLC tracks will be available for purchase on Thursday, May 18th.

@bonethug0108 No, next week's surprise comes with Bored to Death.

Yup was coming back to edit. Maybe it is Linkin Park for the tour tie in?

Is this not a rerecord? That would mean it is easily the oldest recording we have recieved in Rock Band due to the Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash songs being rerecords.

    A Punk themed pack?

    You're funny.
  • Yay, I'm so looking forward to this week... But now I'm starting to get worried that we're not going to get any Rewinds for this Month :/ .

Anyways, the blink-182 song will be coming out next week, so I'll be looking forward to that as well (And hopefully, it will come with a Rewind).

My predictions for this week's Weekly Challenge...

Show Me Your Soul (Play songs of the R&B|Soul|Funk & Hip-Hop|Rap genre)
    - ABC
    - Shout
    - Uptown Funk (Repeat)

Yup that was one of the hints.

I believe one of The Zombies songs from 1964 was the official oldest original recording before this.

Was really hoping there'd be another secret track this week, but hey, the one track we get this week is still a good track.

    Bought.

Is it safe to assume this is both Parts One and Two?

Definitely getting this one. Awesome song for parties.

Next week feels like a Punk surprise so....

Yeah, Bored to Death and Quitter by The Starting Line.

Since The Starting Line isn't "big" enough to reveal right away.

And following last week's pattern of the two songs having a common theme (Mother's Day, Punk/not being a fan of stuff :p)

    Does it have full stems?
Did full stems exist back then, typically?
I will almost certainly buy this, regardless. I'll just, uh, make sure not to miss any notes?
  • Not a bad song this week. Not sure I'll buy it, as I don't really see myself playing it all that much. I have high hopes for some additional delisted songs for ps4 happening this week.
  • Who cares about stems? I'd rather hear this awesome song the whole time! :P

Beatles had '63 if you count them. But either way, oldest recording we've ever gotten our hands on.

I think it was 1955 when multitrack recording became a thing, but wasn't widespread until the 60s.

This track does have stems iirc, but whether they were in good shape or Hmx had to do some DIYing I don't know.

Yeah, I still think the surprise is Heavy.

Yup. Fits both the new single and tour angles of previous surprise songs.

I'll be greatly disappointed if we don't at least get Faint too though, not that I'm expecting it.

If there ends up actually being a pack, I think One Step Closer and Aliens Exist are the next most likely songs to be featured which would also continue the trend of there being rewinds every month since December.

Where would we be without Science Technology Engineering and Math?

Yeah, I'm with ya. It could be a Blinkin Park Tour tie in week, which they would have kept secret since it was only announced last week, after the May DLC announcement. If it is a Blink-182/Linkin Park week, I wish it were a pack with 2-3 from each band, but I'm not holding my breath.

    Packs for both?

Bored to Death paired with Aliens Exist and say...Anthem Part Two or Dumpweed?

Heavy, One Step Closer and Faint for LP, and there: "More songs than April"; heck, as many NEW songs in the week as there's been this month thus far.
  • kal_el_0724kal_el_0724 Opening Act
    One song again huh?

    Yay (groans)

    Sees that it's Shout...

    Eh... It evens out. :)
  • @WoodenGlory "More songs than April" was only referring to the number of new songs. So May having 6 songs in total would still be more than April's 8 because 3 of April's songs were rewinds.

Hey, I'm not the one with theories every week :p

    Mostly.
