I was not a big fan of the early parts of the spotlight pass, but it has gotten better over the weeks... Though I really wish we did not get "God Damn" since that song is so bad!

    2. Super Freak
    3. Them Bones
    4. Heat of the Moment
    5. Stupid Girl

What the hell.... (I'll give this a go)

    My rankings

    1. Burnin' For You
    2. Them Bones
    3. Stranglehold
    4. Heat of the Moment
    5. Super Freak
    5. Stupid Girl
    6. Ice Ice Baby
    8. God Damn
  • 1. Them Bones (If that's the Alice In Chains song for the Spotlight Pass, or else, Heat of the Moment would be 1)
    2. Heat of the Moment (This would be 1 if Them Bones isn't the Spotlight Pass song for Alice In Chains)
    3. Burnin' For You
    4. Super Freak
    5. Stranglehold
    6. Stupid Girl
    7. Ice Ice Baby
    7. God Damn

If Harmonix decides to do a Season 3 Spotlight Pass, I would like to see each Decade of music represented. That means, 1 song from each Decade of Rock (60s/70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s).

    My turn.

    1. Alice in Chains (either)
    2. Burnin' for You
    3. Super Freak
    4. Stupid Girl
    5. Ice Ice Baby
    6. Heat of the Moment
    7. Stranglehold
    8. God Damn
  • OK, I'll play too!

    1) Burnin' For You - Amazing song that we have needed forever.
    2) Super Freak - Never thought we would get this song, now we need Give It To Me and some Teena Marie!
    3) Heat Of The Moment - Very happy to finally get Asia, like this song, but love Only time Will Tell much more
    4) Stupid Girl - They have a lot of songs I would have rather had then this one, especially Only Happy When It Rains
    5) God Damn - I grew to like it
    6) Alice In Chains - my favorite song by them is Don't Follow - if that was in the pack it would be #1 on this list
    7) Ice Ice Baby - song has not aged well
    8) Stranglehold - I love classic rock and don't mind Nugent, but this song is too long

All in all, I am very happy with the pack. The only song I wouldn't have bought is Stranglehold. I am primarily a vocalist and it is boring with long breaks.

I didn't get the season pass, but the only one I didn't/won't buy is God Damn.. So I guess I lost 50¢.. Anyway, this is a pretty fantastic collection regardless.. Here's my order:

    1. Burnin' For You
    2. Them Bones
    3. Stranglehold
    4. Super Freak
    5. Stupid Girl
    6. Heat of the Moment
    7. Ice Ice Baby
    8. God Damn

    1- ice ice baby
    2- burnin for you
    3- super freak
    4- them bones
    5- heat of the moment
    6- god damn
    7- stranglehold
    8- stupid girl

Super happy with the songs in this season pass, i had doubts at the beginning because we didnt know what we would get but it ended being a lot of awesome tracks that have been on everyone's wishlist so im glad i got it, now after having all those great tracks in this pass im really looking forward to have one for next season and i hope it is as good as this one

    7. Super Freak
    8. Stupid Girl

Didn't buy this pass and I think I only ended up purchasing 5 of the 8, so I did ok...and the only reason I haven't purchased 'Them Bones' yet is probably because I played it so much on another music game...eventually I'll run out of song backlog though and get it in there.

Them Bones wasn't a Spotlight Pass song.

Everyone before it was announced assumed it would be the one picked instead of Down in a Hole.

    We were all wrong.

I waited until all songs were announced before buying the pack. I would of bought everything other then Ice Ice Baby so I didn’t mind getting that for free and Super Freak at a discounted price. With the decade theme announced I doubt I will be getting the pack again because there isn’t enough modern music I like that I could see them putting in the game.

right, I wonder about the more modern music whether it will make this season's Spotlight Pass viable and unfortunately, we won't know until late into the season.

In that case, correct my stupidity...I DID purchase Down in a Hole...and I'd slot that ahead of Stranglehold at #3

@djb5f1 Well we know the decade for 7 of the songs. As a result of stream info we know this:
    50s: 1
    70s: 1
    80s: 1
    90s: 1
    00s: 2 (1 from 2000-2005, 1 from 2006-2009)
    10s: 1
    Not known: 1

In case anyone wants to know the songs for Season 3's Spotlight Pass.

50s-60s: Johnny B. Goode (Confirmed by Harmonix)
70s: Either Play That Funky Music of Slow Ride (We won't find out until next week)
80s: Possibly Blister In The Sun, since that's not a rewind track.
    90s: No one knows yet
00s: Same as with 90s. No one knows the 2 songs representing 2000s.
    10s: Ditto with 2010s.
Not Known: Possibly a song from 2017 (Hear's hoping it's Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man (I've fell in love with it ever since I've listened to it on Amazon Music. :) )

UPDATE: In case anyone wants to know before they post, There's only 7 Challenges, so it looks like 2010s is the last challenge for this Season.

UPDATE 2: Oops, it was a mistake on Harmonix's part, and I assumed it was real. :p

Right, I mean that makes it seem like the Spotlight Pass won't be a good buy for many of us. And we won't know until late when the more modern music is released.

OH NO I ALREADY BOUGHT IT

    Oh well. No Regerts!
  • @FritzyKatz There is 8 challenges as normal, don't know where you're getting 7 challenges from. The season ends on December 20th and the Rivals challenge graphic has 8 bars.

  • If there were only 7 Challenges, we'd be the first to say it.

I'm confused by this. Most people who have stuck with the series this long are people who appreciate music from all eras. The "nothing worthwhile was ever made after 1974" faction all died. Every last one of them. Dead.

I'm one of the older and more crotchety users here (I threw down on the mentioning King Crimson in an announcement that wasn't an announcement of King Crimson), and my main qualm with the S2 pack wasn't any modern inclusion - it was Ted ****ing Nugent.

The Rivals Status Screen still says Challenge 1 of 7.

Update: It was a mistake on Harmonix's part. It's been fixed now. ;)
  • Meat-PopsicleMeat-Popsicle Road Warrior
No good music after 1975? Hardly! More like, no good music after 1996. Lol. So 3/8ths of the pack will be crap.

    That's the theory.

I'm well aware that this pack is unlikely to be as awesome as the last pack, if only because that last pack set the bar so high. But I'm still trusting Harmonix to make a "good enough" pack. There is SOME good music from the last 17 years. Catchy pop tunes that work well as karaoke songs. Foo Fighters. And, uh, maybe a few other songs?
  • @FritzyKatz Well we've got confirmation from @HMXOwl that it's just an error.

My concern is pop, specifically modern pop. Last Spotlight pass was a hit because it was filled with mostly rock hits. The only dud for me was God Damn which I think was a recent release.

My library is growing, almost 750 songs already, but there is so much on my wishlist that I really need to like the songs to get the Pass instead of getting more back catalogue content.

You don't listen to enough new music if you think that's all there is. There's a ton of great music from the past two decades that isn't pop (ew) or Foos.
  • Modern music just makes you do the legwork still. All the stuff from the past survived the trip. You gotta use your own hands and ears for stuff currently. That's always going to be true.
