September 2017 DLC Prediction Thread: Wake Me Up When This Overused Joke Ends

Let's try this again, shall we?

Well, the year's just flying by, isn't it?

With the Spotlight Pass for Rivals now a thing for each Season, this could make DLC predictions either more interesting or...not.

But expect some more VR tracks/rewinds, whether that includes the official RB debut of Band of Horses or an all-rewind '90s grunge week, that's yet to be seen.

So enjoy the leaves changing colour later in the month, and let's have ourselves another few weeks (or days) of fun!

Comments

  • Ok, here's my predictions given that the current spotlight pass songs are Stupid Girl and Stranglehold.

    9/7
Carrie Underwood - "Church Bells" (spotlight pass)
The Wind and the Wave - "Grand Canyon"

    9/14
    Disturbed - "Remember" (spotlight pass)
    The Starting Line - "Quitter"

    9/21
Maroon 5 - "Maps" (spotlight pass)
    Coldplay - "Birds"

    9/28 - DropMix
Young MC - "Bust a Move" (spotlight pass)
    Run DMC - "It's Tricky"

I had a different prediction planned but that makes more sense for October.

Here's my prediction. (Not adding the Leaked Songs, this time. I believe that all of the Season 2 Spotlight Pass songs are new to Rock Band).

    9/7 - Foo Fighters
    - Everlong (Rock Band 2 Rewind)
    - Run (Season 2 Spotlight Pass)
WCT: Drums gains Bonus XP (SS: Black Seas, Knock Em Down, Run)

    9/14 - Female Vocal Songs
    - Against The Current - Running With The Wild Things (Rock Band VR Carryover)
    - Shakira - Try Everything (Season 2 Spotlight Pass)
WCT: Vocals gains Bonus XP (SS: Africa, Still Into You, Try Everything)

    9/21 - Celebrating DropMix
    - Commodores - Brick House (Season 2 Spotlight Pass)
    - Young MC - Bust a Move
WCT: DropMix/Bonus XP for choose Random Song: (SS: Brick House, Short Skirt/Long Jacket, Take Me Out)

    9/28 - Coldplay
    - Birds (Rock Band VR Carryover)
    - A Sky Full of Stars (Season 2 Spotlight Pass)
WCT: Bass gains Bonus XP (SS: Bizarre Love Triangle, Little Miss Can't Be Wrong, A Sky Full of Stars)

EDIT 1: Changed the songs and added Weekly Challenge Themes based on Bonus XP. WCT means "Weekly Challenge theme, and SS means "Spotlight Songs".
EDIT 2: Changed the songs yet again, and also moved the Celebrating DropMix to 9/21.

Yeah, my guess is also that the Pass songs won’t be from RBVR, as those were probably licensed a long time ago and they likely didn’t have the idea for the Pass back then. So I’m predicting that every week we’ll get 1 Pass song (all-new) plus 1 RBVR song (either new or Rewind).

    September 7 - animal singles
    Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
    Coldplay - Birds

September 14 - Foo Fighters (one day before their new album)
Foo Fighters - The Sky is a Neighborhood
    Foo Fighters - Everlong

    September 21 - country
some country song not in Rock Band
    Carrie Underwood - Church Bells

    September 28 - wild singles
    Mr. Big - Wild World
Against the Current - Running with the Wild Things

    Carrie Underwood - Church Bells

    Cat Stevens - Wild World
Against the Current - Running with the Wild Things

Sure, either version of Wild World is fine by me (leaning towards Mr. Big because Rock Band instrument-wise I think it's better but I'm a vocalist anyway).

And evidently I don't know about country at all ha.

EDIT: And TBH I also think Run is more likely (since it's been out longer) but I'd really prefer The Sky is a Neighborhood...

    EDIT EDIT:

    - Europe - The Final Countdown (Lego Rock Band Rewind)

C'mon, The Final Countdown needs to be released the last week of the year...

    Here are my unlikely predictions

    September 7
    Mr. Mister - "Broken Wings"
Rupert Holmes - "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)"
Oingo Boingo - "Only A Lad"

    September 14
    Dreamers - "Sweet Disaster"
A Day to Remember - "Paranoia"
Foals - "Mountain At My Gates"

    September 21
    Foreigner - "Double Vision"
    Gerry Rafferty - "Baker Street"
John Mellencamp - "Jack & Diane"

    September 28
    Lenny Kravitz - "Fly Away"
Primus - "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver"
The Smashing Pumpkins - "Tonight, Tonight"

A lot of good ones here. Double Vision was fun in GH:VH and that would check off another song we need from that game.

I will be seriously surprised if we don't get new Foo Fighters this month. I'd guess Run, with maybe a rewind and another song (Big Me, Let It Die etc.).
  • It's still rather crazy that out of all the music games, it was GHVH that got Stacy's Mom first.

Agreed. Always seemed like it would have been in RB back in the RB2/RB3 days. And we still don't have it!

I think G.L.O.W. is out on blu-ray so...
    G.L.O.W. pack
Seperate Ways (Worlds Apart) by Journey
...vhat? Joo wanted other song? In Soviet Union joo only get ONE song in DLC pack. Joo want more, wait 'til season 2.
But we already have The Warrior and The Look for a spotlight challenge week thingy.

Probably get those 2 songs that leaked months ago but we've been saying that for 3 months now.

A 'bands we got stuff from long ago but strangely went missing after that' week.
Ball and Chain by Social Distortion
    Karma Police by Radiohead

Of course we need some random recent junk
(throws darts at recent music charts)
Wonderful Wonderful by The Killers (huh, that has some awesome bass, think I'd actually buy it)
    and
All the Pretty Girls by The Darkness (this is also good)

I landed on good stuff so I'll have to try again...
    Believer by Imagine Dragons
    and
Walk on Water by 30 Seconds to Mars
    ...yeah, that's more like it.
  • @Tykki-Teme I feel the same way about Disturbed, in RB's lifetime the only time HMX hasn't celebrated a Disturbed album anniversary or new album release was when either RB or Disturbed were on hiatus. Believe's 15th anniversary is in September.
  • My picks (first song each week is the season pass song):

    Sept 7 Rush Week

    Clockwork Angels
    The Trees (vault edition) (rewind)
    The Body Electric

    Sept 14 - Sweet songs

    Fox on the Run
    Ballroom Blitz (rewind)

    Sept 21 - Grunge week

Them Bones - Alice in Chains
    Everlong - Foo Fighters (rewind)
    Black Rain - Soundgarden

Sept 28 - Superhero Week (celebrating the home release of Spider-Man homecoming)

    Iron Man - Black Sabbath
    Spider-Man Theme - The Ramones

It'll be interesting seeing when the quantity increases, Last year would suggest mid-late October however we don't have a new expansion this year so maybe it'll be later.

Shame there's no UK division of HMX, you've been making some great bids for a community manager :p

You should start by doing some mod stuff first, maybe.
  • tdc002tdc002 Road Warrior
I'm guessing 8 more songs off RBVR. :\

Also, is there a chance of an early DLC announcement because of Labor Day next Monday? (Yes, I know DLC is announced Tuesdays)
  • I have a feeling we will see 1-2 rewind tracks partnered alongside a new track.. and maybe 10 tracks this month?
  • @tdc002 I asked on the Super Beat Sports stream and no, DLC is being announced on Tuesday like normal.
  • After seeing the 2nd Weekly Challenge Theme for Season 2, I edited my post to accommodate with the other Challenge Themes for Season 2.
  • Here are predictions that are not based on anything and probably won't come true but I think it's a good thing to dream.

Sept 7 ~ Leady Ladies weak

    Paramore - "Hard Times"
Against The Current - "Running With the Wild Things"

    Sept 14 ~ Grunge Week

    Pearl Jam - "Alive" (Rewind)
Alice In Chains - "Them Bones"

    Sept 21 ~ Pop punk(ish) week

Jimmy Eat World - "The Middle"
    My Chemical Romance - "Dead!"

    Sept 28 ~ Pop Week

    Maroon 5 - "Maps"
    Rag'n'bone Man - "Human"

    September 7th - David Bowie 03
The Man Who Sold the World
    Rebel Rebel*
    Starman
    Suffragette City (R)

    September 14th - Rock week
    Foo Fighters - "Run"
Queens of the Stone Age - "The Way You Used to Do"*

    September 21st - Pop week
    Maroon 5 - "Maps"*
    Miley Cyrus - "Malibu"

    September 28th - Indie week
    Arcade Fire - "Everything Now"*
Band of Horses - "Casual Party"

"*" denotes a Spotlight Pass track
"(R)" denotes a Rock Band Rewind track

That Bowie pack is pretty much perfect (although of course being a big bowie fan i'd want more haha)
