September 2017 DLC Prediction Thread: Wake Me Up When This Overused Joke Ends

Comments

  • Ok, here's my predictions given that the current spotlight pass songs are Stupid Girl and Stranglehold.

    9/7
Carrie Underwood - "Church Bells" (spotlight pass)
The Wind and the Wave - "Grand Canyon"

    9/14
    Disturbed - "Remember" (spotlight pass)
    The Starting Line - "Quitter"

    9/21 - DropMix
Young MC - "Bust a Move" (spotlight pass)
    Run DMC - "It's Tricky"

    9/28
Maroon 5 - "Maps" (spotlight pass)
    Coldplay - "Birds"

I had a different prediction planned but that makes more sense for October.

Updated given DropMix's release date has been announced, September 24th (a Sunday)

I need that Transformers DropMix card!

Is there a complete list of Dropmix songs anywhere? I'm curious, and if we're lucky some of the songs might make it to Rock Band (I mean the whole premise of Dropmix is mixing different parts of songs so they have had access to stems for those songs...)

Yes, some of us have been impatiently waiting for the seal to break on those that don't exist as RB tracks yet to be announced, hopefully next week with the September announce. C'mon, CHVRCHES.

Ricky Martin's in here, you know what song they also licensed, right?

    Right. ;)

    Right. ;)

There's only one version of "She Bangs" I want, and it ain't Ricky Martin's.
  • There are several songs in there that I'd be super stoked to get! That said, I'm not a huge fan of the way they've done it with the VR songs - slowly releasing one or two at a time in RB4. Give me all of the new ones at once, like they did with Blitz, then keep the good new tracks coming through like normal. The past few months of RB4-unique DLC have been very good, and I'd like to keep that trend going.
  • @Raymono100 If you think about it, what they're doing with the VR songs is similar to what they did with Blitz. The big difference being RBVR isn't on the same platforms as RB4 so there's no "export" and hence the slow release of the songs as standalone DLC started straight away instead of around 4 months post-launch.
  • thatmarkguythatmarkguy Road Warrior
Wow, "Jolene", and Gaynor's "I Will Survive", are both insta for me.
  • @grumblevolcano Yeah that's true. And I guess an export is pretty unlikely with DropMix since half of its songs have already been released... Ah well. As long as we get em eventually I'm happy.
  • Don't really see anything in Dropmix (outside of the potential rewinds) that I would purchase.

I would love to have at least 16 of these new tracks in rb now would they be fun to play remains to be seen because electronic and rnb are not always the most fun to play on a plastic guitar

My #1 from Dropmix would have to be Miike Snow's "Genghis Khan". I think it's a great song, and it has a great video too, but #2 would be Chvrches' "The Mother We Share" and #3 would probably be a tie by Run-DMC's "It's Tricky" and Young MC's "Bust a Move".

Transcribed the songs because I was bored lol. Also sorted them by status in Rock Band.

    Not in RB
Afrojack - Take Over Control (ft. Eva Simons)
Big & Rich - Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)
    Childish Gambino - Heartbeat
CHVRCHES - The Mother We Share
    Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand
Flo Rida - I Don’t Like It, I Love It (ft. Robin Thicke, Verdine White)
LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It
Odezsa - Say My Name (ft. Zyra)
Ricky Martin - La Mordidita (ft. Yotuel)
    Run-D.M.C. - It’s Tricky
    Sean Paul - Temperature
    Skrillex - Bangarang (ft. Sirah)
A Tribe Called Quest - Scenario
    Young M.C. - Bust a Move
Anderson .Paak - Am I Wrong (ft. Schoolboy Q)
The Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow
Fifth Harmony - Work from Home
    Miike Snow - Genghis Khan
Technotronic - Pump Up the Jam
    TLC - No Scrubs
    Bell Biv Devoe - Poison
    Commodores - Brick House
    Dolly Parton - Jolene
    Ginuwine - Pony
Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive**
Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch - Good Vibrations (ft. Loleatta Holloway)

    Outkast - Ms. Jackson
Panic! At the Disco - Emperor’s New Clothes
    Rick James - Super Freak
    Salt-N-Pepa - Push It

    Potential Rewind songs
    Europe - The Final Countdown*
The Jackson 5 - I Want You Back
    Vampire Weekend - A-Punk

Song in Bold are what I would love to see in Rock Band 4 as DLC. Though, I'll be fine with whatever is from that list.

And also, in regard to more Ricky Martin and Dolly Parton, Living La Vida Loca and 9 to 5. :)
  • Please for the love of God , put "Brick House" and "Super Freak" in RB4

Despite consisting mostly of pop music and other genres I normally don't care for too much, the songs that are there in Dropmix, are really good songs. I'd buy songs like Push It a dime a dozen.
  • hiimSMAPhiimSMAP Road Warrior
    Please let's get

    Run-DMC - It's Tricky
A Tribe Called Quest - Scenario
    Miike Snow - Genghis Khan
    Dolly Parton - Jolene
    Outkast - Ms. Jackson

    For dlc

Lots of very good songs on the DropMix setlist not in RB. That said Salt-N-Pepa wouldn't be the first Push It I'd pick, that goes to Garbage.
  • edited September 3
No one think about Super Freak :s I like having that in rb4
  • It would be awful instrument-wise, but RB needs "Pony" for vox.

Add in the rest of the R&B/hip hop tracks while we're at it. Scenario?!? Gotta have that in RB!

@KidSleez During last week's challenge, I noticed that I hadn't played most of the Hip-Hop/Rap and R&B/Soul/Funk setlists in tour mode due to how few songs from those genres were in RB. Getting a lot of the DropMix songs would make those setlists a lot more interesting.

Agreed. As I said, I do realize they wouldn't be great for instruments, but there's some really good hit songs there that are fun and would be good for vox.
