Completing the "Stranger Things" Soundtrack

Since we have other "Completing" lists... I thought this would be a nice addition!

A part of what makes this show so great is the awesome soundtrack of 80's (and some 70's era and earlier) music! The soundtrack hits on almost every genre, from; Classic Rock to Country and Punk to Pop, with even a sprinkling of b-sides and obscure titles! As I was going through this, I was surprised to see how much of it we actually already have, but also a little sad at seeing so many other great songs that haven't (yet!) graced our Rock Band Libraries!

Anyway... Enjoy the list and if anyone sees where I may have dun goofed on a listing, please let me know so I can correct it! I hope to be highlighting some more of these great tracks soon! :)

Which of the ones that we don't have yet would you all like to see added next? There's some real gems in this list!

  • Fun post.
As far as I'm concerned, we already have the majority of the best songs from those lists, but here are the ones I'd jump to buy:

Hazy Shade of Winter (This would be really fun)
    Old Time Rock & Roll
    Sunglasses at Night
Talking in a Your Sleep (always loved this song)
Rock You Like a Hurricane (seems somewhat inevitable at some point.. I hope)
Shout at the Devil (it actually hurts my heart and crushes my soul that we don't have this & Looks That Kill)
You Don't Mess Around with Jim

The Bangles' version of Hazy Shade of Winter has been in my top 10 wishlist for years.

My only disagreement with Aim's list above is the omission of "Islands In The Stream". We can *always* use more iconic harmonies, even if the instrumentation is likely ho-hum.

Both songs many be licensing hell though. HSoW needs signoff by The Bangles and Paul Simon; Islands needs sign-off by Rogers, Parton, and the Bee Gees.

(Though works by all five have made their way into some form of licensed HMX content)

We absolutely need to get Rock You Like a Hurricane. I feel it is coming.

One formatting note, that blue text is hard on the eyes (with the blue background).

Thank you so much for this list. I just recently got into the show and I have a friend group that's super into it. This'll be helpful for making a themed setlist.

But really the season 1 playlist is Should I Stay or Should I Go? 16x over.

Agree with all your song choices here (as first ones I'd like to see)! Would agree with @thatmarkguy that we also need Islands in the Stream and I'd also like to see Wango Tango (which seems reasonable considering his recent RB contribution). And wouldn't hurt to have more Oingo Boingo with Just Another Day (such a great song)!
