I honestly wouldn't mind Rihanna. I just don't know which songs would work well in the game.
  • California King Bed
    Love on the Brain
    Disturbia

    Boom.

California King Bed was even fun on the awful GH:L, so I'm sure it would be better in RB.

Also, I'd like the Travis Barker remix of Umbrella.

The guitarist from Extreme can shred even on a pop song ;)

Is Nuno on guitars for that or did I get whooshed on a joke?

He's been in her band for quite a while now. If he still is, that is.

Nuno's been in her touring band, and has contributed some work on recordings on several of her albums, but per wikipedia, the guitars on California King Bed's studio production were by Alex Delicata. Not a Nuno contribution.

The more you know, I thought I read somewhere he played on the studio version of that song.

That DOES make me wonder about what his solo for a live version of it would've sounded like.
  • I didn't know Nuno was in her touring band, but now I also see he has some credits for guitars on a few of her albums (per wiki).

"Not quite Boston" could be Cape Cod, and thus Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa by Vampire Weekend?
  • Oh, do not tease me with a Vampire Weekend possibility; so much fun could be had

More Vampire Weekend would be a dream. It's such a bummer that we aren't getting many packs these days, especially from bands, and definitely not from relatively "smaller" bands like VW (who still pull in 2.8M Spotify listeners a month after over four years without new material).

    Something like:

    A-Punk
    Cousins
    Diane Young

would cover their entire discography, feature a rewind, and be fun as heck.

    Dance, my little marionettes, dance.

So this guess may be more of a stretch, but here goes it.

ABBA has a song called Happy New Year that was released in 1980 and has charted in several countries every decade since (including each of the past 10 years, so it covers the spanning a couple of decades hint). They also have a song called I'm A Marionette (tying into this post). So, I'll throw in a guess for Happy New Year (though it isn't a very successful song here in the US, so this is more of a stretch like I said).

Spanning a couple of decades could also be Prince - 1999 by that logic.

I'd love to get Unbelievers from them.

    Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa
    Unbelievers
    Diane Young
    Cousins
    Walcott

Maybe Step instead of one of them

I'd buy that pack in an instant
  • I'd rather have Ghost's cover of I'm a Marionette.

    Any Prince would be amazing.

I'd buy that pack in an instant myself, but I'd buy anything! On top of everything you named, songs like "Bryn", "Ladies of Cambridge". "Finger Back", "Holiday", "Everlasting Arms", "Mansard Roof", "Run"...give me literally anything.
  • ABBA: While a pack is the clear choice...
Dancing Queen. If we have to have one, I'd kinda want it to be that one.

Yeah, of all the ABBA songs, Happy New Year wouldn't be among my top choices, but I'd take it haha
  • ABBA 01:

    Take a Chance on Me
    Dancing Queen
    Fernando
    Knowing Me, Knowing You
    SOS
    Chiquitita
  • thatmarkguythatmarkguy Road Warrior
No “The Winner Takes It All”?

    Out.

This is nu-HMX; we're..all...placing in the medal podium.
  • kal_el_0724kal_el_0724 Opening Act
    And where's Gimme Gimme Gimme???
  • Unless it's a 20-pack, not everyone's gonna be happy. And even then...
  • Meat-PopsicleMeat-Popsicle Road Warrior
You wouldn't be happy with anything less than a 20-pack of ABBA?
How about a zero pack? A never pack? Does that work for you?
Y'all have gone off the deep end with the impossible speculation.

If we're going to do a ABBA 20-pack, then let's do it right. :)

    ABBA Essentials 01
    - Chiquita
    - Dancing Queen
    - Does Your Mother Know?
    - Fernando
    - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
    - I Have a Dream
    - Knowing Me, Knowing You
    - Lay All Your Love on Me
    - Mamma Mia
    - Money, Money, Money
    - The Name of the Game
    - One of Us
    - SOS
    - Summer Night City
    - Super Trouper
    - Take a Chance On Me
    - Thank You For The Music
    - Voulez-Vous
    - Waterloo
    - The Winner Takes All

And as an added bonus, this pack also comes with Anni-Frid Lyngstad's solo career hit, I Know There's Something Going On, as a single.

That will surely make everyone happy.
  • I don't think any DLC release would make everyone happy. There's DLC releases that would make most happy but not everyone.

A way of looking at this is for example imagining a DLC release that was Radiohead's full discography with Despacito (the Bieber version) as a standalone single on the side. Lots of people would complain about Despacito's existence rather than focus on how fantastic the Radiohead DLC is.

    Welcome to basic marketing 101!

Also, Singstar:ABBA serves as that whole "20-pack" idea.
  • You know what would be fantastic, a Foo Fighters 20 pack:
    Big Me
    Alone + Easy Target
    For All the Cows
    Generator
    Next Year
    Low
    Have It All
    No Way Back
    Cold Day in the Sun
    Let It Die
    Dear Rosemary
    White Limo
    Arlandria
    Back & Forth
    A Matter of Time
    Miss the Misery
    I Should Have Known
    Congregation
    Outside
    The Sky is a Neighborhood

Maybe swap a few of the pre-2011 singles for pre-2011 deep cuts. Also on the side would be the 3 rewinds as its own pack:
    Everlong (rewind)
    Learn to Fly (rewind)
    Breakout (rewind)
