Heck yes to all this in particular
  • As promised, I would post my special Wishlist DLC Pack after I've finished some Rock Band 2 Tour Mode for today. And the time is now, so hear is my Special Wishlist DLC pack. :)

My special Wishlist DLC pack for today is a 10-song pack to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Japan's most famous and most legendary mangakas, Osamu Tezuka, the man behind some beloved classics like Astro Boy, Kimba The White Lion, and such. When I've learned that he was born on this day, in 1928, and that he'll be 90 years old on this day, I had to take the opportunity to make this special pack.

As you probably are aware by now, I am a huge Anime geek, as I've been posting opening themes or closing themes for various animes in this thread. And one of my favorite animes is Hirohiko Araki's Jojo Bizarre Adventures, as it was the one anime/manga that got me to like music, because of it's various reference to popular music. Anime has been popular with certain people in the US since the 1990s, and some of the most popular anime franchises that are still popular today includes Pokémon, and Dragon Ball, which I also like.

But Anime didn't got it's start in the 1990s, in spite of being popular in my country at that time. Instead, Anime was first brought into existance in 1917. These old styled animes are basically Japan's own version of the Short Cartoon Films made by the likes of Walt Disney and the Fleischer Bros. (Even one of these short animes also served as an inspiration for the Cuphead character). Osamu Tezuka wasn't born until November 3, 1928.

As a child, Osamu Tezuka loved watching Disney's Bambi at least 80 times (Though, recently, I've been doing the same with Big Hero 6, but I haven't kept check on how many times I've watched it), and go out into the woods in search for insects. It wasn't until 1946 that Tezuka would write his first Manga series at the age of 17. And eventually, he achieved fame with the series that made him famous, Astro Boy, in 1952. And just like that, the rest was history.

Astro Boy was the first Japanese Anime series that was broadcasted in Japan, which aired on 1963, and the first Japanese Anime to be imported to the US. I was captivated by how cutesy the characters of Osamu Tezuka's works were compared to that of other Mangakas, and I fell in love with their cute designs, appearance, and charm. And my parents loves 2 animated adaptions of 2 of Osamu Tezuka's works (And I even have I DVD of Kimba The White Lion, which came out before Astro Boy as a Manga). Which is my sole reason of doing this special Wishlist DLC pack.

So my 10 songs in this pack are the opening themes for 6 of 10 following adaptions of Osamu Tezuka's works, as well as 3 closing themes from 3 other adaptions. And one song, which appeared in the film adaption of one of Tezuka's earliest mangas, Metropolis, the cover of Don Gibson's I Can't Stop Loving You, by The one and only Genius himself, the legendary Ray Charles. (My Overall favorite is Now or Never by Chemistry, the opening theme for the 2003 anime adaption of Astro Boy).

So, without further ado, here is the Osamu Tezuka 90th Anniversary Pack. :)

    =Osamu Tezuka 90th Anniversary Pack=
    - Buzz & Sumie Shima - Ai Koso Subete (The Fantastic Adventures of Unico (Band Tier: Warmup))

    - Ghost - Rats
    - Blink-182 - What's My Age Again?
(The video for Gekkouka is a english dub cover, as the original isn't in video format)

I know that most of these songs are ill suited for Rock Band, but I had to take the opportunity to make a pack like this. But this is not the only 90th Birthday pack that I have for this month. I have another one that is coming tomorrow as the first Weekly DLC for November. I hope you're looking forward to it. :)

  • edited November 2018
And now the moment you've been waiting for: The next 90th Birthday pack that I'll be revealing today is going to be revealed right at this moment. :)

Our first Weekly DLC for this month is my third entry for my songs from Disney products pack to celebrate the 90th Birthday of one of the most famous cartoon characters of all time, Mickey Mouse. (Though, technically, he was created in May 15th, 1928 and I originally planned to make a Disney pack on Kingdom Heart 3's release date in the US. But today, ABC is hosting a special to celebrate that occasion. So I figured I do this pack in response to that).

I am a huge Disney geek. I have Zootopia's Try Everything (From the lovely Shakira) in the Tracklist for my first Rock Band 5 Wishlist, and I'll be putting in E'verybody Wants To Be a Cat in my Rock Band 5 2019 Tracklist soon after Rock Band Rivals finished it's Season 9 of Rivals. And I've even made 2 Wishlist DLC packs in my previous Wishlist thread that had songs from Disney films.

And to show my love for Disney and it's franchises, I've created this 5-song Wishlist DLC Pack to celebrate the 90th Birthday of the most famous Cartoon Mouse. The 5 songs in this pack are, from Lilo & Stitch The Series, Aloha, E Komo Mai by Jump5. From Phineas and Ferb, Today Is Going To Be a Great Day by Bowling For Soup.

From Moana, Shiny by Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Concords. (Disney Villain Songs are the best songs in Musical-type Disney films  ), A Cover of Mickey Mouse's own personal theme song, the Mickey Mouse Club March, by this Japanese Pop Punk group, Beat Crusaders (Who did one of the openings from Bleach and the opening theme song, Hit In The USA, from the anime, Beck).

And last but not least, this unexpected track, in response to and celebration for the upcoming release of the sequal for this beloved Live Action/Animated classic from the 1960s, From Mary Poppins, A Spoonful of Sugar by the one and only Mary Poppins herself, Julie Andrews. Of all of the Disney Live-Action films, this is my most favorite film of those type. It's a beautifully made musical, with songs made by the very talented Sherman Brothers.

And yes, I know, the song isn't suited for Rock Band, but it's a really good song that I absolutely loved as a kid. I love Disney films, and I love the songs that comes from them. And I hope that one day, the songs from those Disney films that I loved so much as a kid would come to Rock Band as Official DLC, someday. I know it's a hopeless wish, much like with De-Listed Content Rewinds. But still, I would love to see Disney film music in Rock Band, someday.

And joining this pack, will be the 11th entry of my Monthly Deep-Cuts series, which is normally what I would reveal on the very start of the month, but I've chose to do that Spotlight Pass Artists pack in it's place, since it's larger. The songs in this pack are Does He Love You? by Rilo Kiley, My Mind Is An Endless Sea by The Wind + The Wave, and Rattlesnake by St.Vincent.

So, without further ado, I gladly present the Disney 03 and Monthly Deep-Cuts 11 packs.

    =Disney 03=
    - Beat Crusaders - Mickey Mouse Club March (Mickey Mouse Club (Band Tier: Impossible)
    - Bowling For Soup - Today Is Going To Be Great Day (Phineas & Ferb (Band Tier: Challenging)

My birthday is on next Sunday). I hope you're looking forward to it, as well as more Top 10 Lists of Songs I would like to see as DLC in Rock Band 4, starting tomorrow. :)

  • edited November 2018
It's Thursday. Two more days until my special Birthday Wishlist DLC Pack that I'll be releasing this Saturday (3 more days until my birthday). And tomorrow, I will post the final Top 10 list: A list of 10 Artists and Bands that I would love to see in Rock Band 4 that hasn't made their debut yet. I hope you're looking forward to it. :)
  • It's Friday, and tomorrow, the day before my Birthday, I'll be releasing a special Wishlist DLC Pack. I hope you're looking forward to it. In the meantime, it's time for me to do a final Top 10 list. And my last topic for this day is Artists and Bands that I would love to see in Rock Band that has yet to make their debut.

There's still plenty of artists that I like that hasn't made their debut in Rock Band yet, and thus, I'll be listing them. Of course, the only ones who are staying off the list are Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, the two big white whales. I do like both band's music, but I keeping them off the list, due to how impossible they are to license.

And furthermore, I'll start at 10, like a countdown of sorts. So, without further ado, here is my Top 10 list of Artists and Bands that I would love to see in Rock Band that has yet to make their debut.

    10. Squirrel Nut Zippers: In the 1990s, Swing Jazz has seen a revival, thanks to bands like Royal Crown Revue and the Brian Setzer Orchestra. And another notable band of the Swing Jazz Revival is Squirrel Nut Zippers, a band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In my earlier youth, I kinda dislike their music, because it sounded different than what I'm accustomed to. But years later, my opinion on their music changed for the better, and now I enjoy their stuff. Would I like to see Swing Jazz make a debut in Rock Band? Heck Yes!
    Realistic Get: Hell
Song I would love to have: Good Enough For Granddad
    9. Sleigh Bells: Here's an interesting 2010s band from New York that I've discovered, thanks to Guitar Hero Live's announcement. Representing the Noise Pop genre is Sleigh Bells, which is known for their top charting album, Reign of Terror. I took an immediate liking for this band's music, thanks to the song, Bitter Rivals, from the album of the same name, which appeared in Guitar Hero Live's GHTV mode. Another good example of a good 2010s Indie Rock band that I would love to have in Rock Band, eventually.
    Realistic Get: Comeback Kid
Song I would love to have: Bitter Rivals
    8. Jamiroquai: My next entry on this list is British Acid Jazz band, Jamiroquai, which is known for the song Virtual Insanity, from the album, Travelling Without Moving. Another band that we probably should've had in Rock Band during Rock Band 3, as Virtual Insanity would've been a cool song to play for Keys. But still, I play vocals, so Jamiroquai's stuff will still be fun to play on Vocals, regardless.
    Realistic Get: Virtual Insanity
Song I would love to have: Cosmic Girl
    7. The Sugarhill Gang: I'm not a fan of modern hip-hop, but I do like classic hip-hop, and one old-school hip-hop band that I would love to have in Rock Band is The Sugarhill Gang. If we ever get more hip-hop music, then this is the one band that I would love to play, because I think compared to most hip-hop music in Rock Band, their music would be the most fun to play.
    Realistic Get: Rapper's Delight
Song I would love to have: Apache
    6. Arcade Fire: In recent times, I've been listening to Arcade Fire's stuff, and I have to say that I've enjoyed the music of this wonderful Canadian Indie Rock Band that I would love to have it come to Rock Band someday, in spite of their fake advertisement that they'll have a band-based game on their stuff in promotion of their latest album, Everything Now.
    Realistic Get: Everything Now
Song I would love to have: Wake Up
    5. The Sword: I'm quite surprised we didn't get them earlier as soon as Rock Band came out. We had a cover of Freya on Guitar Hero 2 (Which was made by Harmonix). But since we've been getting a couple of songs from previous Guitar Hero games as recently new Rock Band DLC, hear's hoping that The Sword will finally make their debut in Rock Band proper.
    Realistic Get: High Country
Song I would love to have: Freya
    4. A Perfect Circle: Here's another good band that has songs in Guitar Hero that needs to come to Rock Band as DLC. Though, I probably would think that A Perfect Circle is more a small White Whale band, since it has Maynard James Keenan of Tool (And me thinking that if we ever do get A Perfect Circle, it would be if Keenan would agree to it on one condition: A Tool Rock Band is to be made, which I wouldn't mind). But still, I would love to see A Perfect Circle make their debut in Rock Band, someday.
Realistic Get/Song I would love to have: Judith
    3. Mystery Skulls: Recently, I've been enjoying the music of Mystery Skulls, thanks to me wanting to put this band into my tracklist for Rock Band 5 2019, as I've learned about the band after seeing pictures of the band's Scooby Doo cast-expies from the music video for their most successful song, Ghost, on a web forum. After listening to them, I've fell in love with their music, and would love to play their stuff on Rock Band.
Realistic Get/Song I would love to have: Ghost
    2. Fishbone: I've looked at a lot of Wishlists on this thread, and I'm surprised that not many people wanted Fishbone, this incredible Funk-Punk Rock band that served as an music influence for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Such an good band like this needs to be in Rock Band as soon as possible, and I would love to play it on Rock Band, should Fishbone makes a debut in Rock Band proper.
    Realistic Get: Sunless Sunday
Song I would love to have: Freddie's Dead
    1. The Temptations: And last, but not least, my entry for no.1 is one of Motown's many artists from it's record label, The Temptations. As a fan of Oldies Radio Music, this is one of the bands that I would love to see in Rock Band at some point. Rock Band had a Stevie Wonder pack, Rocksmith recently had a Four Tops pack, and I would love to see The Temptations make their rhythm game debut in Rock Band, someday.
    Realistic Get: My Girl
Song I would love to have: I Can't Get Next to You
    =5 Honorable Mentions per Decade=
    - 1960s & Earlier: Fats Domino, The Moody Blues, Steppenwolf, Little Richard, Sly & The Family Stone
    - 1970s: Jim Croce, Sex Pistols, Dolly Parton, Parliament-Funkadelic, Three Dog Night
    - 1980s: Pet Shop Boys, Bananarama, Level 42, They Might Be Giants, Love & Rockets
    - 1990s: Spice Girls, Fastball, Reel Big Fish, Manic Street Preachers, Puffy Amiyumi
    - 2000s: The Airborne Toxic Event, Zebrahead, Vanilla Ninja, Black Label Society, Elbow
    - 2010s: The Struts, alt-J, Vulfpeck, Dorothy, The Gaslight Anthem

And that is my top 10 list of bands and artists that I would love to see in Rock Band, eventually. Tomorrow, I'll be presenting my special Birthday Wishlist DLC pack. I hope you're looking forward to it. :)
  • It's Saturday. Tomorrow will be my birthday, and as promised on this day, I'll be revealing details on my special Wishlist DLC pack, which I'll be revealing after I've watched a certain game on X019 (Kingdom Hearts 3, in case you're all wondering).

My special Wishlist DLC Pack is a band that I've started to take a huge liking for ever since listening to What Hits!?, the compilation album of the band's earlier music. That's right, my Special Wishlist DLC Pack is a 12-song pack of my favorite Alternative Rock band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

But however, the 12 songs in this pack aren't just any songs that has been released as a single or has charted. Nope, my pack is 11 deep-cuts from 10 of their 11 studio albums (The only album that is absent is Mother's Milk, which I've already did a Wishlist Album Pack in my previous thread.) and One B-Side. RHCP has recorded countless songs, but only selected a couple of them for their studio albums, that some extra songs were cast aside, and released as B-Sides to their single tracks.

But first, before I get into that pack, I'll post some top 5 lists of Deep-Cuts for all 11 of their studio albums (Stadium Arcadium gets a top 10 list instead, since it has 2 discs) and a top 10 list of B-Sides from RHCP that I like. So, hear they are. (Bolded songs are in the pack)

    9. She's Only 18

And those are my top 5 list of 10 of the 11 Studio Albums made by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, As well as the Top 10 Lists for Stadium Arcadium Deep-Cuts and RHCP B-Sides. And later on, I'll be presenting the special birthday Red Hot Chili Peppers pack that will have the bolded songs. I hope you're looking forward to it. :)
  • I've finished watching X018, and got some really good information from the Kingdom Hearts 3 Trailer that I've posted on my thread for that on the Less Rokk More Talk thread. And thus, I can now present Fritzy Katz's Birthday RHCP Pack. :)

    - Annie Wants a Baby (Band Tier: Moderate)

    - Minor Thing (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - My Lovely Man (De-Listed Content Rewind)
    - Purple Stain (Band Tier: Nightmare)
    - Turn It Again (Band Tier: Nightmare)

Twelve amazing songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers that hasn't been released as singles, and I love them more than I do with the songs that has been released as singles (Though, I do like the singles as well). And I'm looking forward to the upcoming 12th album that is said to be releasing next year. I just hope that it will as good as their other 11 albums. :)

Anyways, since my Birthday is tomorrow, I'll be releasing the next weekly Wishlist DLC on Monday. I hope you're looking forward to it. :)
  • It's Monday, and as promised, I'll be revealing the Weekly DLC for this week, since yesterday was my birthday.

My next Wishlist DLC for this week is the next entry of my New Album Preview series. And this time, my next New Album for this month is Muse's latest album, Simulation Theory. To this day, I've always wanted another song from Muse. Always haved and always will, even though I am aware of how hard music licensing is.

And I wouldn't mind if we gotten anything off of Simulation Theory, since it's a newer album with a special theme: A celebration of the 1980s Pop Culture. I was born in the 1980s, I love the music from that decade, as well as the movies and cartoon shows that aired during that decade. And it pleases me to know that Muse did an entire album that celebrates the era that I was born in. :)

My song choices for this pack are The Dark Side, Pressure, and Something Human. I've listened to all three of them, and I have to say that they are really good. Though, probably not as good as their earlier works like the songs from Black Holes and Revelations, but good never the less. Of the three, my overall favorite is Pressure.

And joining this pack, is another 3-song pack, of songs from the Guardian of the Galaxy's Awesome Mix soundtracks, in response to the passing of Stan Lee, which I've learned about just today. It's such a shame that he had to pass, because I know that he's pretty old, but he introduced many to several great comic book heroes in his prime. He voiced Fred's dad from Disney's Big Hero 6. Heck, he even worked with Hiroyuki Takei, the mangaka for Shaman King (Another Shonen Manga that I like), on a Manga for Jump Square.

So, in honor of him, I figured I do a song pack for something related to Marvel comics, and what's a better choice than a pack from the Guardians of the Galaxy's Awesome Mix soundtracks. The three songs in this pack are from the first Awesome Mix soundtrack, Come and Get Your Love by Redbone, and from the second Awesome Mix, Come a Little By Closer by Jay and the Americans and Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang by Silver.

So, without further ado, here is the New Album Preview 15 and Awesome Picks Vol.1 Pack packs.

    =New Album Preview 15 (Muse - Simulation Theory)=
    - The Dark Side (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Pressure (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - Something Human (Band Tier: Moderate)
    =Awesome Picks Vol.1 Pack=
    - Jay and the Americans - Come a Little Bit Closer (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - Redbone - Come and Get Your Love (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - Silver - Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang (Band Tier: Solid)

In addition, I've also updated the tier card for Thought Contagion with the album cover art for Simulation Theory, as I've done so earlier, which I'll be replacing the original tier's album cover art.

The next Weekly Wishlist DLC will come on Sunday as usual. And this one will be a Thanksgiving Pack. I hope you're looking forward to it. :)
  • Just dropping in to let you all know that another RBN song that I had in this wishlist thread is coming back to Rock Band as official Rock Band DLC. And that song is...

    - The Funeral by Band of Horses

Another good Indie Rock track that I enjoy listening to. It was one of the songs I've bought from RBN, as soon as I heard about RBN's de-listing, and I am so happy to get this song back. And since I'm talking about RBN songs, I figured I post in a Top 10 list of RBN Songs that I would love to have back in Rock Band 4 as Official Rock Band DLC. So, hear it is...

    1. Sunny Day Real Estate - Seven
    2. Band of Skulls - I Know What I Am
    3. John Parr - St.Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)
    4. Arch Enemy - Nemesis
    5. Lemon Demon - The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny

    8. Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee)

    10. Hushpuppies - You're Gonna Say Yeah!

And that is my top 10 list of RBN songs that I would love to have back in Rock Band 4 as Official Rock Band DLC. Anyways, I hope you're looking forward to my special Thanksgiving pack that is coming this Sunday. :)
  • It's Sunday. And it's time for me to post the next weekly Wishlist DLC of November. :)

Thanksgiving is coming this week, and what's a good way to celebrate the occassion with my first Thanksgiving-themed Wishlist DLC pack. This pack has a total of 8 songs, all connecting to the theme of Thanksgiving: Being home with your family, as well as food that is normally served on Thanksgiving.

In this pack, we have 3 Oldies Radio favorites of mine, a minor hit from the person who is best known for The Name Game song, a Late 1990s Pop Classic, a 2010s Indie Folk song that is in Guitar Hero Live's GHTV Tracklist, a cover of a CCR song that we have in Rock Band already from a Thanksgiving-themed animated film, and a song by the legendary Sam Cooke, that appeared as one of the songs from GotG's Awesome Mix Soundtracks.

So, without further ado, I present Fritzy Katz's Thanksgiving Party Mix. :)

    - Dee Dee Sharp - Mashed Potato Time (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Dido - Thank You (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Jay & The Techniques - Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Little Eva - Let's Turkey Trot (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Passenger - Let Her Go (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Sam Cooke - Bring It On Home To Me (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Simon & Garfunkel - Homeward Bound (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Social Distortion - Up Around The Bend (Band Tier: Moderate)

More Wishlist DLC will come next Sunday, and next Wednesday as well. :)
  • Well, it's Thanksgiving week, and in just 3 more days, it will be Thanksgiving day (Which means, I'll be enjoying a nice Turkey dinner, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, and the National Dog Show on NBC). And I'm just dropping in to let you all know that another Rewind that I've posted on this thread is coming back to Rock Band as official Rock Band DLC. :)

And that song is One Step Closer by Linkin Park from Rock Band 2 (And it will be released alongside Come Out and Play by The Offspring, also from RB2), my favorite entry of the Rock Band series. I was worried that it may not be possible to license a new song from Linkin Park, with Chester Bennington's passing, but the recent DLC announcement proved that Harmonix can re-license a song from LP that they've licensed before for a game's tracklist.

And it's a good thing that they did, because One Step Closer is a cool banger that I've gotten to enjoy, ever since playing it on my Rock Band 2. And it's recent re-licensing gives me hope for Bleed It Out (Which is long overdue) and Wastelands (Though, Heavy seems more possible, considering that it was certified gold. I just liked Wastelands ever since listening to it when I heard about it from Guitar Hero Live's in-game tracklist).

Anyways, just wanted to let you all know. I hope you're looking forward to the upcoming Wishlist DLC that will be coming on next Sunday and Wednesday. :)

    Happy Thanksgiving! :)

This is not a sudden Wishlist DLC announcement, but it's some information I have regarding my Wishlist Thread's Rivals Mode Weekly Challenge's Season 6.

In case you're wondering about the theme for the upcoming weekly challenge Season for this Wishlist thread: it's another theme based around something that I like, and that theme is... Based around Disney Movies from the Disney Revival Era. I chose this theme for two reasons.

    1. Mickey Mouse's 90th Birthday
    2. Kingdom Hearts 3 is almost coming soon in January (And there will be another Disney Music pack for that, featuring songs from the movies represented in KH3 on the game's release day), and another trailer that will be presented by AmazonGames, is going to stream this friday.

I'll be using 8 films from the Disney Revival Era for the themes of the following weeks to come, and they'll be presented in no particular order (Though, I will tell you this: The last week of Season 6 will be Zootopia, because that's my favorite Disney movie from the Disney Revival Era). And there will be DLC that matches a certain element/character(s)/ or theme for each of the 8 chosen movies. (Like for example: Let's say I'd use Disney's Hercules (Disney Renaissance film) as a theme for a Weekly Challenge. If I was using that, then I would choose like a 1960s-R&B/Soul/Funk song (Because of the portrayal of the Muses in that movie) or I could do a Michael Bolton pack, because he did a version of a song that appeared in that film. Heck, I could even use a song that has the word or from a band that has the word "Hero" in it as well).

Either way, I'll be deciding on each of the 8 films to use for the themes for the following weeks and complimentary DLC to compliment those films. I hope you are looking forward to seeing what I have in store for Wishlist DLC (Because I am looking forward to it as well). :)
  • It's Sunday, time for me to post the first half of the last Wishlist DLC for November. :)

As mentioned in the post above you, my next Season theme for my Season 6 of my Rock Band 5 2018's Rivals Mode is inspired and based around Disney Movies from the Disney Revival Era. And I'll be presenting each film of that era in no particular order (With Zootopia being the last film for personal reasons). And for this week, the first film for Season 6's Week One will be Moana.

Moana's story plot is about the titualar daughter of a island village's chieftain whose village had suffered a blight that plagued her village, and she was chosen by the ocean to restore a sacred amulet of a island goddess, which was stolen by Maui, a demi-god. And thus, the brave young girl ventured into the ocean via a sailing boat, following the blood of her seafarer ancestors.

And for the first week of Season 6, the first theme have the following types of songs: Surf Rock songs, Yacht Rock songs, Songs with a Summer theme, Bands/Songs that has the words related to boats and sailing in the name/title, and Songs from artists who are from Hawaii. And since sailing is a huge plot element for Moana, I've immediately came to the conclusion to use Yacht Rock for this week's DLC. And what's a better way of using it by using songs from this artist.

So, my Wishlist DLC for the first week of Season 6 is a 3-song pack of Yacht Rock performer, Christopher Cross. My three song choices for this pack are Sailing, Ride Like The Wind, and Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do). I've listened to all three of these songs, and enjoyed all 3 of them, as I never listened to Christopher Cross before. Of course, my overall favorite of this pack is Ride Like The Wind, which I've first heard in Illumination's Sing.

And this Wishlist DLC pack will be joined by one more extra Wishlist DLC, the Last DLC of the Month. And this month's Last DLC of the Month is an interesting one. And hear's some details about it.

Last DLC of the Month (November): Wilson-Phillips, thenewno2, The Wallflowers, and Picture Me Broken. These are just a few examples of bands that has famous musician parents. And this band is also one that falls into that catagory. The Band's frontman is Jakob James Nowell, the son of Sublime's former lead singer, Bradley Nowell. And on this year's Black Friday, the band has released their debut Studio Album, There and Back Again. I've listened to one song off of that album, and I immediately took a liking for the band's sound on that album. It has a very similar sound to RHCP, which I like. And I would love to see it in Rock Band at some point. But the song I'm using for this wishlist DLC is going to be a different one than what I've heard first.

So, without further ado, here is Christopher Cross 01 and the Last DLC of the Month for November.

    =Christopher Cross 01=
    - Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do (Band Tier: Moderate))
    - Ride Like The Wind (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - Sailing (Band Tier: Warmup (SPOTLIGHT PASS SONG))
    =Last DLC of the Month=
    - LAW - Blinking (Band Tier: Challenging)'

The next half of this week's Wishlist DLC will come on Wednesday. :)
  • Fun Fact: Christopher Cross' eponymous debut album won multiple Grammys, including Album of the Year. In the latter category, it beat The Wall by Pink Floyd.
  • edited November 2018
@Radiohead97 Thanks for the fun fact. :)

It's Wednesday, and around 11:00 PM, I'll be presenting the next half of this week's DLC, but first, a moment of your time, regarding one of the DLC that is releasing tomorrow on Rock Band 4 this week.

Previously, I've posted countless Top 10 Lists of songs that I would love to see in Rock Band 4 as official DLC. Most of them are from my Wishlist Threads, and I made one of songs that I have yet to put into my Wishlist Thread. And recently, one of the songs that I've posted on my Top 10 List of Songs that I haven't put into my Wishlist has came as official Rock Band 4 DLC at last.

And that song is Natural, the single off of Imagine Dragon's latest album, Origins. Though, when checking the comments on the DLC announcement forum, I can easily tell that not everyone was happy, and I can totally see why: Either they prefer having the songs off of their first album or prefer to not have another song from them at all, which is understandable, and I totally respect that (And I would've love to have something off of ID's first album as well).

However, having said that, I'm pretty much on the minority of people who are happy to have this song in Rock Band. I like pretty much quite a couple of the songs from Imagine Dragon's discography (Especially the songs from the first album, and I've been also listening to some songs from the second album as well, thus making me like those as well). And I have listened to Natural recently on a playlist. And after listening to it, I've came to love the song. I found it very catchy to listen to (Even though, it won't be as fun to play on other instruments aside from Vocals, which I kinda agree with). And I'm so happy to have this song in Rock Band 4.

In response to the song's release however, I've replaced it with another song that I've also listened to in recent times, and came to love as well. And that song is...

    - The Greatest Show by Panic! At The Disco

The first time I've heard this song, was during what I would consider, the worst season of Dancing With The Stars. Such a horrendous season that I wished had never existed to begin with. The reason why I hated it, it was because they kept the worst celebrity of Day 1 up until the Semi-Finals, and when it time for him to go, he was eliminated with what I considered to be the best celebrity of the season, and even worst, the person who won the season, was a weaker celebrity than the other three finalists. Me, my mom, and my sister were so mad when he won, and I've began to wonder that what if the voting was rigged. (Though, I think it is rigged. :/ )

Seeing that celebrity win was the final nail in the coffin to convince me that the season I've watched recently was the worst of the bunch, and made me unsure if I should watch DwtS ever again. Having said that however, watching the freestyle of the celebrity who won had also introduced me to this incredible cover of a song from a 2017 musical, which is done by PatD.

The song almost feels like their own version of My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark, and since I like that song as well, I've taken a liking for this song as well. It's amazing to see how PatD's sound had evolved since their Emo Pop days, and I'm looking forward to the day that their 2010s stuff comes (Hoping for Emperor's New Clothes and Victorious from Death of a Bachelor).

Anyways, I'll be posting around 11:00 PM with my 2nd half of the Wishlist DLC. :)
  • edited November 2018
And now that it is 11:00 PM, it's time for me to reveal the 2nd Half of this week's Wishlist DLC. :)

November is known as National Hospice Month, which is the type of care that is provided in hospitals. And seeing this got me thinking of this song: Handle With Care by the Traveling Wilburys, and got me thinking of this: A 3-song pack of the supergroup, the Traveling Wilburys, the supergroup consisting of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne.

Another good group that I like, and wanted in Rock Band. This 5-man supergroup consisting of big-name music stars is another good example of bands that I would like to see in Rock Band as DLC, someday. But somehow, me thinking that the band is a definition of a White Whale band. and IF we ever do get some Traveling Wilburys, then I'll have a huge smile on my face.

This three song pack contains three songs from their debut album, Traveling Wilburys Vol.1. And those 3 songs are Handle With Care (Which is also in the tracklist for my Rock Band VR 2), End of the Line, and Tweeter and The Monkey Man. All three of them are so good, that it was hard for me to pick an overall favorite, so I have to go with End of the Line.

This pack will be joined by another pack, which is made to compliment the Weekly Challenge theme for the first Week of Rock Band 4's Season 9. And this week's theme is a beach party theme. So, how did I came up with the pack to compliment it? Ever heard of the phrase "Christmas in July". (I watch Christmas movies on July just for fun. Me and my family also celebrated Christmas on a Spring month (I think it was March, April, or May), at Nebraska one time, when I lived there (True story).

So, my next pack is called the Summer In December!? Pack. And as the name suggest, it offers some Summer-themed songs, since the beach is commonly associated with Summer. This pack is a 5-song pack, by the way. The songs in this pack are Beach Baby by The First Class, The Tide Is High by Blondie, Summer Girls by LFO, The Atari's cover of Don Henley's The Boys of Summer (Which is also a rewind from my Rock Band 5 tracklist), and California Gurls by Katy Perry, feat. Snoop Dogg. (Which is a carryover song from California Rock Band's tracklist).

All five of these songs are songs that I grew up listening to, and I like all 5 of them. In this pack, my overall favorite is definitely The Atari's The Boys of The Summer cover. So, without further ado, here is the Traveling Wilburys 01 and Summer In December!? Pack packs.

    =Traveling Wilburys 01=
    - End of the Line (Band Tier: Moderate)
    - Handle With Care (Band Tier: Warmup)
    - Tweeter and the Monkey Man (Band Tier: Solid)
    =Summer In December!? Pack=
    - The Ataris - The Boys of Summer (Rock Band 5 Rewind)
    - Blondie - The Tide Is High (Band Tier: Solid)
    - The First Class - Beach Baby (Band Tier: Solid)
    - Katy Perry - California Gurls (Feat. Snoop Dogg (Carryover from California: Rock Band))
    - LFO - Summer Girls (Band Tier: Warmup)
    =RB52018 Rivals Weekly Challenge Season 6 Week 1: How Far I'll Go=
    - World Party - Ship of Fools
    - Christopher Cross - Sailing
    - Bruno Mars - Locked Out of Heaven

The first Wishlist DLC of December for this thread will be coming on Saturday. :)

It's funny because I was just talking with @NightmareLyre about how "California Gurls" would be the ultimate song for this weekly challenge, and how it's actually rather surprising that she hasn't showed up as DLC yet, in an Off the Charts pack or otherwise. I'd probably buy that one and "Hot N Cold" as DLC, at least.

Also, super happy to see Traveling Wilburys get some representation. Licensing them is probably difficult, but it'd be the closest we get to ELO in Rock Band and I'd buy any song of theirs as DLC! In fact, Jeff Lynne has even incorporated "Handle with Care" into ELO's live shows, and he performed it when I saw him live in August.
  • It's the first day of December, which means, it's time for me to post the first Wishlist DLC for December 2018. :)

But first, before we get to that, I have something that I wanted to say: I've made a minor mistake. Do you all recall my Halloween Pack for this year? Well, it's the tier regarding one song, the Mystery Skulls one (Magic). While there's nothing wrong about the tiering I've made, but it's about the title I've placed on it's tier card: It had the wrong song title (I've mistook it for Ghost, which did not had Nile Rodgers and Brandy as guest artists). That was my mistake.

But I've took care of it already (And it was a good thing I've caught this as soon as I did). You can take a look of the song tier card with the corrected song title right here (Ghost is still coming though, in my upcoming 2019 Wishlist thread).

And now that's taken care of, there's one more thing I wanted to announce before I reveal the Wishlist DLC for today. Starting from today until December 25th, I'll be revealing songs for a Advent Calendar Pack that will be released on December 26th. Advent Calendars are used to count down the days of December until Christmas, and I thought of a fun way to count down the day: By making a large DLC pack using various songs.

It hasn't been done before in the official Rock Band games, as Harmonix never even thought of doing it. But I'll be doing it on this thread, and I'll probably do it again for the next Thread. So, hear's the first song for the Advent Calendar Pack.

    - Digging Your Scene by The Blow Monkeys

First song in the Advent Calendar Pack is this well-known song by The Blow Monkeys, a 1980s Pop-Rock group that achieved some success with the song, Digging Your Scene, a catchy sounding song which discusses the topic of AIDS, the un-curable disease, which made the top 20 on both the UK and American Charts. I've only listened to it just recently, and I have to say that I've quite enjoyed listening to it.

And now with that out of the way, it's time for me to reveal details on the first Wishlist DLC for December. The first Wishlist DLC for December is the 12th Entry of my Monthly Deep-Cuts series. As usual with the start of a new month, I (Almost) always do a Monthly Deep-Cuts pack. And this month's deep-cuts are Danger On The Track by Europe, Rust In The Cage by The J.Geils Band, and Sam's Town by The Killers.

Like with Digging Your Scene above, I've listened to these three recently, and I've gotten to enjoy them. 3 really good sounding rarely known, obscure, tracks that has a 0 to small chance of making it into Rock Band, and it was hard for me to pick a overall favorite. But among the three, I've ultimately went with Danger on the Track, because it was a cool banger that I've gotten to enjoy.

So, without further ado, hear is Monthly Deep-Cuts 12.

    - Europe - Danger On The Track (Band Tier: Challenging)
    - The J.Geils Band - Rust In The Cage (Band Tier: Nightmare)
    - The Killers - Sam's Town (Band Tier: Challenging)

There will be more Wishlist DLC, as well as the second Advent Calendar Pack song tomorrow. :)
  • tati81tati81 Opening Act
    I like Sam's Town a lot!
  • Sam's Town has been on my wish list for a while now, among a few others from the album.
  • It's Sunday. It's time for me to post some more Weekly Wishlist DLC. But first, another song reveal for the upcoming Advent Calendar Pack that is coming on December 26th. :)

    - Sweet City Woman by The Stampeders

Though, this Canadian Band is far from a One-Hit Wonder band in their home country, The Stampeders' second biggest hit song, Sweet City Woman, is their biggest and most well known song in my home country, the US. Though, they did had some smaller hits in the US, Sweet City Woman is not only much higher on the charts, but also much bigger. It's a good song that makes good use of the banjo, and I would love to have this song in Rock Band, someday.

Song Count: Digging Your Scene (12/1), Sweet City Woman (12/2)

And now for the Wishlist DLC for the first Week of December. This one, like with my Christopher Cross Wishlist DLC pack, will compliment a film from the Disney Revival Era films of the Walt Disney Animated Canon. And this week's film I'm covering is Tangled, the second Disney Princess film of that era, and the second film directed by Byron Howard, the man who directed my favorite film from the Disney Revival Era, Zootopia.

Tangled is a retelling of old Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Rapunzel. As with the original fairy tale, a baby named Rapunzel was born, and was taken away by a witch named Gothel. But unlike the original fairy tale, the parents were a king and queen, instead of a pheasant family. And instead of the king and queen making a bargain with the witch for something in exchange for Rapunzel like in the original fairy tale, the witch kidnapped Rapunzel without ever making contact with the king and queen. But keeping the plot of the witch made Rapunzel her own child intact.

And you're probably inspecting a brave young prince to appear in the film, just like in the original fairy tale, right? Nope, instead, the foil for Rapunzel in Tangled is a dashing young thief voiced by Zachery Levi (Famed for portraying Chuck Bartowski from the show baring his name), and they both go on a misadventure to a large city where a festival of lights was held by Rapunzel's birth parents once a year on her birthday.

The Tangled's version of Rapunzel was voiced by Mandy Moore, who has not only been voicing her in the Animated Series adaption of her own film, but also has been a established musician since the 1990s. And because of that, my next wishlist DLC pack is a pack of 4-songs by well-known female performers from the 1990s. I grew up in the 1990s, and I have heard several songs by female performers that I've came to like at that era.

The four songs in this pack are Candy by Mandy Moore (Which is the Spotlight Pass song for this week), Real Love by Mary J. Blige, One Way Ticket (Because I Can) by LeAnn Rimes, and this rewind from the first Rock Band game, Celebrity Skin by Hole. All 4 really good songs that I like, and some I would love to have in Rock Band 4 as DLC. Of the four, my overall favorite is Celebrity Skin.

And without further ado, here is the Ladies Of The 1990s Pack. (Oh yes, and in case you're curious on what songs are eligible for the Tangled themed challenge: All Female Vocals songs, All Songs by German Bands and Bands that has German-American Musicians, and Songs and Bands referring to Horses, Chameleons, The Sun, and Light).

    - Hole - Celebrity Skin (Rock Band 1 Rewind)
    - LeAnn Rimes - One Way Ticket (Because I Can (Band Tier: Moderate))
    - Mandy Moore - Candy (Band Tier: Solid (SPOTLIGHT PASS SONG))
    - Mary J. Blige - Real Love (Band Tier: Solid)

More Wishlist DLC will be coming on Wednesday. But expect another song reveal for the Advent Calendar Pack tomorrow. :)
