I'm 90% as old as DRex but I don't have any kids at all, partially because I am such a painfully shy introvert that I didn't get married until I was 46. I held out for quality!

Also, I never wanted kids, and have never regretted not having them for a single instant*

    * though I love being an Uncle
    * if that was the only thing standing between me and the woman I was in love with 21 years ago, I have to think I would have eventually talked myself in to changing my mind, but it worked out WAY better this way. If you run into me in 1998 please be sure to give Meat From The Past this information.

    EDIT: message received, thanks!

The Rock Band Crew "WRDN" has very few (2? 1?) active members right now. Anyone from this thread that plays the game more than 0% of the time and is open to changing crews [or doesn't have one at all] please consider joining. If you are already a member and never play RB4 .... well, there's really no reason why you can't stay in the crew anyway, unless it turns out that an unexpected number of people actually want to join.

Oh and @Dadasaurus Rex please make me the leader (either through the game or through the app) next time you are bored.

    Paging:
    @Marlboro @bigmf @SuperTigerMario @Witticus

    that's a ps4 crew right?
  • Meat-PopsicleMeat-Popsicle Road Warrior
Yes, I'm on PS4, I keep forgetting that crews are locked in to a specific console

As soon as I find more regular work, I’ll start it back up. I’ve had no money to spend on DLC lately, sorry Meat.

too bad, i've been looking for reasons to get into the game a bit more >.<

It's totally OK, I was off with a Super Group for a while, I only recently returned to WDRN. And that was specifically because there are zero expectations for grinding or awesomeness in the Crew. It would be great to have your scores pop up again, someday [taunting??], and maybe we can even play online [!], but you've let no one down by being absent.

@jibjqrkl I find it impossible to believe that you wouldn't get eagerly recruited by Xbox crews just by letting it be known [maybe in the "seeking Crews" thread?] that you're looking for one. Perhaps you have a new invite already?!? You're a Rock Band Legend!

can't say i've really been looking for crews :p been mostly focused on overwatch lately with a bit of monster hunter.
i just kinda miss this game but everytime i start it up i cant play for more than an hour before doing something else. maybe a crew would push me back into the tryhard mode and make me play all day
  • You guys still have RB3 on PS3? Might get it soon and online play there is free.
  • WitticusWitticus VERY DEEP
Make no mistake, I love nothing more than taunting you all. $2 is also 2 dollar menu items, so I have to choose wisely.

It's made me play only a little more. I only do 10kxp a week unless I really like the songs that week i'll do close to 20k.
Back in the day (start of RB3 especially) I was putting in several hours daily into RB... but with all the stuttering and weird calibration issues I have I've played way less. Not even more than about 5 hours a week now.

I don't mean to be obvious, but you can play and contribute mightily to a crew (not to mention have fun!) without buying the new spotlight song every week. Chances are you'll already have 1 or 2 of them, plus adding XP is a good thing too.

Chastain was just fine as an SNL host. Not as good as Saiorse Ronan was a few episodes ago, but better than most hosts this year and last. The best SNL hosts are often the 'dramatic' actors and actresses who take this chance to really break their typecast. The worst SNL hosts are usually comedians who think themselves so naturally funny that they just half-ass a performance rehashing some of their prior characters/voices/material.

Dug this up because I need to violently disagree with myself. It feels like SNL took my post as a challenge on both ends, because:

Will Ferrell's episode two weeks ago was hilarious, even though it reused some of his old material (like his George W Bush impression).

    and then

Natalie Portman's episode from this past weekend was abominably, unthinkably, unbelievably bad. I genuinely cannot think of a more cringeworthy episode of SNL ever, and that includes the one Donald Trump hosted. Weekend Update was the only segment in the entire show I wouldn't give a failing grade.

Yeah, Weekend Update was the only good part of Portman's show, although I did get a laugh or two out of the Natalie's Rap segment. The Ferrell episode had some good moments though, see the Chucky Lee Byrd and The House segments, although it was Michael Che during WU that stood out the best, the Stephen Miller jokes were absolutely great.

EDIT: On a related note, I'm just waiting for John Oliver to come back now. For weekend comedy, that's the one I look forward to the most.

Just a small thanks to everyone on here who usually makes my day better :) <3</p>

    Yes.
Sometimes reading nonsense posts from "strangers" is a great counter-balance to real life

    hi Friends!

Hey drow, have you tried the new Shadow of War? It's like the last LOTR game but longer.

@daxx1970 I have not purchased or played Shadow of War (yet). I will eventually get it because I loved Shadow of Morador so much, but I still have games from 2015 I have yet to play. And 2016. And 2017. It's ridiculous

My gaming time has slowed to a trickle! Shadow of War got ripped for trying too hard, and introducing loot boxes, so I'm waiting until the price drops to like, 20 bucks - like Shadow of Morador did before I picked it up.

I'd be happy to join, but I still feel obligated to @TubaDude49 and his crew. Though, We don't play much. I try to hop on once a week (usually doesn't happen as planned) but it's nice to jump in and contribute a little.

I do. I will jam if you need another session player

That... actually looks pretty accurate, apart from the anime sized eyes!

    Gotta keep the style going.
  • So i just requested Creature Comfort. Forgot I actually never had. One of the Arcade Fire songs I really want in the game. I wish we'd get their entire discography (since the band is really interested) but seems unlikely lol.
  • thatmarkguythatmarkguy Road Warrior
As I understand it, the band isn't interested. The Arcade Fire Rock Band 'gag' was part of their failure of a marketing strategy for Everything Now: fake news, rampant commercialism, and fads. The AFRB joke was that they perceived Rock Band to be a punch line ("Imagine we sold out so much that we had our own videogame? Remember that fad from a decade ago when bands got dedicated videogames with plastic instruments? Lol") - it wasn't actual interest.

First thought is a bit from this goof-off footage from Leverage Season 1:

Ah.. well that’s sort of douchey of them.
