If we get Flight of the Conchords and My Morning Jacket, I will be happy.
  • Off the top of my head - Seether, please..
    And Paralyzer by Finger Eleven.

So many, like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Raggedy Angry (Superjet especially), Cynic, Psychostick, Giraffes? Giraffes!, An Endless Sporadic, Bumblefoot (great on guitar of course, and drums), Ween (It's Gonna Be A Long Night) - these are just the few from the top of my head.

Devin Townsend needs to get back too. The lyrics were custom for Rock Band even. It was great.

If Studdz wants his Tragically Hip, I just want my Talking Fish.

As the Hip is to Canada, ATF is to the RB Forums.

Do you think 2X bass pedal songs will come back? Still great news and I'll be happy to pay for them again.

Harmonix hasn’t contacted me yet about re-releasing Cheesy Pop Song OR releasing the prog-metal version of Mailman that so desperately belongs on our consoles. Hopefully some day...

Really hope we get the Jerry Naylor tracks. Those were a great set of "sort of" covers.
I would also be thrilled to get the songs from Emery, Jukebox the Ghost, Mayday Parade, Stroke 9, and the remaining Third Eye Blind songs (just off the top of my head).
So many more I would re-buy too. I guess I'll be spending a bunch of time on that request a song page in the near future.

There's sooo many bands I want back from RBN. Off the top of my head:

    3 Inches of Blood
    A Day to Remember
    Alien Ant Farm
    All That Remains
    Anarchy Club
    Attack Attack!
    Band of Horses
    Band of Skulls
    Between the Buried and Me
    Bulletproof Messenger
    Children of Nova
    Dear and the Headlights
    Drowning Pool
    Eiffel 65
    Finger Eleven
    Five Finger Death Punch
    Flogging Molly
    Of Mice & Men
    Powerman 5000
    RX Bandits
    Sunny Day Real Estate
    The Devil Wears Prada
    The Dillinger Escape Plan
    Third Eye Blind
    We the Kings

Some of these bands are on the top of the RBN charts and have more than 3 songs added into RBN. I hope HMX checks in with them, maybe could strike a deal to get possible 3-8 song artist packs perhaps?!

It's the same exact reason we've never offered double bass charts before and have never really budged on our decision. There AREN'T many people.

Take everyone who plays Rock Band. This is the potential audience, the theoretical cap on sales. We weigh this against spend, study attach rates and behavioral patterns.

Now toss everyone who doesn't play drums. We've removed a majority of users with this step. And sadly, we've got a ways to go in this nesting doll of cold, calculating business.

Toss out all the drummers who play on Easy, Medium, and Hard. 2x Bass literally means nothing to them because they don't see a different chart! This is a vast majority of remaining users because of what you probably expect with bell curves and all that.

Now you get to toss out a ton of those Expert players. "But why?" Because they aren't aces up there. If they still measure like, "I can do Expert up to three dots, but around four I did to Hard," then adding notes to devil-head charts again means nothing to these players. It isn't something they see or want.

So we've got a small portion of the least played difficulty on what is not the most popular instrument as our 'actual' sales cap. Woof. We still gotta go through behavior.

Does everyone buy every song? No, nice as that would be. So you straight up are not reaching that number, which isn't the most thrilling number to begin with! Now, there's a heavy correlation between time played, songs owned, skill, as you'd expect. So all things considered, this group has been squished so incredibly that it's probably the closest segment to the ceiling we could find! That's nice. I always argue internally that skilled drummers have higher data averages than skilled guitarists and vocalists, so for as many hits as have been taken in this trip, this is actually a valuable positive!

And now we've reached the kinda sad realization part. If we released just the 1x Bass version, how many people in the group we've got left would just...buy that one? Most of 'em, right? Yeah, odds are good. It's not like the 1x Bass versions are boring or unfun. All those songs that got 2x were pretty tough and fun regardless, hardly a bad time to be found.

So yeah, at the end of the day, 2x Bass Pedal doesn't make a lot of sense as a business because the possible audience is SUPER tiny compared to virtually any other segment, they can largely be satiated without the extra work, and it just means it's not really worth it to double the work when we could just do something else. And that's always terrible to hear, I know, 'thing you want? Nah, no thanks' because yeah, you want it. But hey, if I said we'd take away an RBN 'port' for every 2x Bass Pedal we add on, pretty much no one outside this nesting doll would take it. And most people in the nesting doll, like I said about the 1x standalone already, they wouldn't take it either.

So...it's not really gonna happen. More is more, and more is cool, but we can't do everything always, and hopefully by this walk through it, you get why. Won't make you like it, but it's cool to understand. Sorry.

I'd just want all 4 songs by an Unkindness, Gabrielle by Ween and the Jonathan Coulton songs.

Definitely need Evanescence, Seether, Third Eye Blind (the originals of course), St Elmo's Fire (John Parr), Sunny Day Real Estate, Between the Buried and Me, Alien Ant Farm, Eiffel 65, Drowning Pool, Five Finger Death Punch, Band of Horses.. several more but can't think. For the big named bands (who have had hits or are well known enough in their genre)

Also would love to see Children of Nova, Rishloo, Andromeda (would ruin so many skill levels lol), An Unkindness (Fragments in particular) and several others in this category as well.

Of course some novelty is welcome too .. Jonathan Coulton (Pretty much novelty), A Talking Fish and couple others.

There are at least a dozen songs I'd buy all over again, for convenience + to support the band. But top priority for me would be songs that were never offered for the Playstation. I still have my PS3 + RB3 instruments, I can (and do!) play RBN songs there.

First song I requested. Well, "New Orleans is Sinking" techincally was first because I forgot the only Hip song we got. But I also requested "Blow at High Dough".

Apparently New Orleans Is Sinking was in the RBN review pipeline and was going to be the second Hip song on the platform... then for whatever reason it never actually got as far as actual release.

My season 6 RBN predictions are:
    - Third Eye Blind - "Semi-Charmed Life" (but the 1997 original sorted under DLC rather than the 2009 re-record that RBN got)
    - A Day to Remember - "All I Want"
    - Jerry Lee Lewis - "Great Balls of Fire"
    - John Parr - "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)"

    A Day to Remember
    Alien Ant Farm
    All That Remains
    All Time Low

    Between the Buried and Me
    Bring Me the Horizon
    The Bronx
    Circa Survive
    The Devil Wears Prada
    The Dillinger Escape Plan
    Drowning Pool
    Eiffel 65
    Finger Eleven
    Five Finger Death Punch
    Flight of the Conchords
    Flogging Molly
    Iron & Wine
    Jerry Lee Lewis

    Sleeping With Sirens
    Stan Bush
    Sunny Day Real Estate
    Third Eye Blind
    The Tragically Hip
    The Walkmen

These are all artists that I think could stand a good chance of being brought into RB4. Very unlikely that every one of them makes it over, but they're all popular enough to warrant it. Any other big ones that I left out?

Please bring over the Alestorm songs and the Teenage Bottle-Rocket songs!
  • @TheStuddz Possibly Bring Me the Horizon. While songs from their 2 latest albums are much more likely (e.g. Drown, Can You Feel My Heart, Shadow Moses), I don't think we can completely count out their deathcore era. See how Paramore changed over the years regarding licensing songs from their first 3 albums for example.
  • TheStuddzTheStuddz Lil Rascal
@grumblevolcano Good call, totally forgot BMtH had a song on RBN.
  • @TheStuddz Jerry Naylor might, if only because I really don't see us getting versions of Whole Lotta Shakin or That'll Be the Day (for example) otherwise

Did anyone else here own the Trews songs? I figure they're a very long shot, but I'd love to get those back. The Trews aren't as big as the Tragically Hip, but they're much bigger here in Canada than they are in the States and elsewhere.

In terms of RBN band packs, I'd like getting packs with two new songs and one or two "rewinds". They could license it all at once, and they'd only mostly need to chart two songs like they do now, but it would make the output seem huge compared to what we get now.

If they released one RBN band pack a month, it'd get through some of the heavy hitters of the RBN quick enough, and leave the other three or four weeks a month for other bands and other rewinds.
