  • Hi, welcome to the Harmonix Forums. :)

First of all, I don't know if you are aware of it or not, but Rock Band used to have Toxicity (System of a Down) and Don't Stop Believing (Journey) as DLC, before Harmonix took them down. Thought I should let you know this.

And also, I doubt that Harmonix will do any more "As Made Famous By" covers at this point anymore, since pretty much every DLC and On-Disc songs are pretty much all Master Tracks, and they hadn't done a AMFB cover since 2008. So, I'm certain that they'll use the original Master Track over a AMFB cover.

There's a couple of Bands and Artists from your list that I wanted to come back to Rock Band as well: Metallica, Journey, and RHCP. Or at least have new songs for Rock Band: Steely Dan (Reel In The Years, Do It Again) and Deep Purple (Woman From Tokyo, Burn).

But having said that, I think your Wishlist is a solid, good, Wishlist. Love your RHCP choice by the way. The Title Track from Stadium Arcadium is one of my favorite songs from that album.

I like the setlist well enough - it's quite varied, I'd say - but I have to ask, is this meant as a joke? Between the thread title, the Angry Birds theme, and the fact one song's artist is you featuring none other than "Sweat Shirt" singer Jacob Sartorius, I'm pretty certain that's the case.

If it is a joke, then it's a bloody good one, I'll give you that! Kind of reminds me back when I found out Sonic the Hedgehog: Rock Band was someone's fan creation on the Sonic fanon wiki. Not to mention the setlist has more than enough good choices on it - I'd freak out if Europe's "Ninja" was actually released!
  • To be fair, RB1 has Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld from South Park on it.

Came in expecting a Rock Band: Metallica set. Ended up getting a rather interesting RB5 set. Good stuff, but I'm wondering why you'd want AMFB versions of certain songs rather than the originals.

I do wonder why the thread title is about specifically wanting Metallica, yet the contents is a setlist. I will say, there are quite a few songs in there that I'd like to see, and I can kinda see the Angry Birds theme going on (all the song titles have to do with either birds or themes of the film, if I'm reading this correctly). Well played!

As for the "As made famous by" versions, is that perhaps because of licensing and/or stems? If it's stems, then I should point out that nowdays Harmonix use Do-It-Yourself stems for songs they can't get the masters for (as in, they manually separate the instruments from each other using audio editing, to mixed results). I figure they'd just go that angle rather than hiring WaveGroup to do more covers.

Suffice to say this is a joke (or at least partially), but interesting setlist nonetheless. Definitely would love to hear this metal song you did with Jacob Sartorius that isn't out yet :p
  • If I did do a song with someone like Sartorius, that would be cool.

    I'd buy it
