this is a little off topic but i just had to share this story...
Well I read the title of the thread and said "OMG LED ZEPPELIN!" I open up the thread and see "Led Zeppelin and the Beatles are out" then i say to myself, "How about some Satriani?" then I read "all songs must have guitar, bass, drums and vocals" finally i say to myself, "Appetite for Destruction, GNR is one of the best bands ever!!!" and I read "Appetite of Destruction is out"

but anyways, here's my list (there's a little language, but its not a huge deal ;))

    Boston - Boston
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
Lead Sails Paper Anchor - Atreyu
    Santi - The Academy Is...
A Little South of Sanity - Aerosmith

Honorable Mentions (cant put in list because of various reasons):
Appetite for Destruction - Guns N Roses - Wailing like Axl would be SO FUN! Not to mention playing Slash's riffs
Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine - I'd love to sing/rap/whatever like Zack, other than the language. I think HMX could be creative with charting some crazy guitar sounds too...
Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock - Joe Satriani - For us guitar lovers, sorry vocals.
Smash - The Offspring - Imagine singing Bad Habit at a family get-together with your grandparents present...

Offspring - Conspiracy of One (underrated album)
3 Doors Down - The better life (Kryptonite, Loser, Duck & Run)
Killswitch Engage - As daylight dies (top to bottom solid, and perfect for the people who complain of lack of hard and modern stuff)
Disturbed - The Sickness (c'mon, you gotta ask why?)

    Metallica - Master of Puppets
    Pearl Jam - Ten
    Nirvana - Nevermind
    The Who - Who's Next
    Linkin Park - Meteora

With the exception of MoP, none of these would be my favorites, but I think they would all be great albums for the game. The no cussing rule cuts a lot out, and they can cut Orion and Session out of MOP and Meteora, respectively, and still be good to go. If there were no limits...

Rage Against the Machine - RATM or Battle for Los Angeles
System of a Down - Toxicity or Hypnotize
Slayer - South of Heaven or Seasons in the Abyss
    Anthrax - Among the Living
    Megadeth - Rust in Peace

Anthrax and Megadeth might be ok on the lyrics actually. Anyways, my two cents...

My $0.02 (in no particular order):

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Thrice - The Artist in the Ambulance
**Rush - Moving Pictures/A Farewell to Kings/Different Stages*/Exit: Stage Left*
Alice In Chains - MTV Unplugged*
Iron Maiden - Live After Death*
Albums marked with an asterisk (*) denote live album. (I think some bands sound better live than in studio.)

** I'm rather hesitant to nail down a specific Rush album. To be honest, each has their own strengths and weaknesses. For example, do you really want to play through The Camera Eye in it's entirety? Good song to listen to, but, I think it would be rather annoying to play in RB. As for the live albums, the only things really getting in my way are the instrumentals, which are easily worked around, IMO, and (AFtK also), tackling monstrosities such as 2112, Xanadu, and Cygnus X-1 in their entirety.
