On the jazz side of things, I'm pretty familiar with Jaco Pastorious (Spelling?), some Charles Mingus, and Miles Davis' A Kind of Blue and Bitches' Brew, which I enjoy listening to on occasion.World: I forget the name of the album, but out of the 3 or 4 tracks I've heard from Rodrigo Y Gabriela, I'll definently put them high up in the world music category. I love the lead/rhythm guitar duality between the two.Techno/Electronica: I agree with frosty and Shredder. Discovery is an amazing album, along with Portishead's Dummy and some of the Pet Shop Boys' material. Surprisingly enough, a lot of Portishead's songs would lend themselves quite well to RB's format. Sour Times would be great.
